Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 834: Chapter 2: The Deal

At the time when the battle at Arasaka Tower was raging fiercely, Gao Gong was also engaged in an intense battle for childbirth.

Well, the latter is an exaggeration.

Due to the Mechanical Split Star, natural childbirth has become a relatively rare method of production, so the profession of midwifery has disappeared into the annals of history; fortunately, Dr. Yi was fully prepared and installed ’childbirth software’ in his home robot, making the robot as skilled as a seasoned childbirth master.

The reason for calling Gao Gong over is largely because this is the first instance of natural childbirth in Bionic history, and any accident could happen.

For example, during childbirth, a prosthetic body might suddenly malfunction; at such a time, a Prosthetic Doctor would be needed.

Fortunately, this did not happen.

Gao Gong and TE421 sat outside the delivery room until they heard the sound ’born’ from inside, and only then did they exchange a glance.

”Congratulations to Mr. Yi.”

”No, congratulations to the entire Bionic Realm!” TE421 smiled brightly, and an uninformed person might mistake him for Old Wang from next door.

”Go in and take a look!”

”You go in first.”

After TE421 walked in, Gao Gong mumbled to himself.

”How come there’s no sound of a baby crying?”

Isn’t the usual process supposed to be like this? Could it be that Bionic babies are special?

Unable to resist, Gao Gong activated ’Divine Knowledge,’ and his expression shifted slightly as he saw memory worms crawling along the walls, ceiling, and floor throughout the room.

At this stage, memory worms feed on the information of life forms; how could they be running around everywhere?

”Mr. Gao, please come in, this child wants to see you,” Yi Yun’s voice suddenly echoed.

Gao Gong took a slight breath, felt mentally prepared, and then went inside.

But as Gao Gong entered the door and saw the Bionic baby on the infant bed, he couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his eye.

It was the silhouette of a baby, and the surface was crawling with maggots, while the hollow eyes were two insect eggs.

Rather than a baby, it resembled a baby-shaped ’insect fetus.’

Damn, you gave birth to this thing?

A female Bionic from the Life Domain excitedly exclaimed: ”The experiment was a success, finally, we are free from corporate control, we can produce ourselves, evolve ourselves, we are no longer beholden to others!”

Every Bionic at the scene either applauded or shouted with excitement.

Gao Gong watched, unable to stop his eyes from twitching.

Although people’s preferences—wait, this doesn’t even qualify as a preference, it’s completely going astray.

Are you planning to evolve straight into the Insect Race?

Wait, Insect Race?

Gao Gong suddenly recalled that when he was chasing Bionic A, at nearly every landing spot, the aura of memory worms had become particularly bizarre.

Plague!

The Plague of the Four Celestial Calamity Knights.

”Mr. Gao, what do you think of my child?” Madam Yi suddenly asked.

Gao Gong glanced at the wriggling maggot eggs, thought over his words, and nodded: ”Very good, very lively!”

”Meeting is fate, would Mr. Gao like to be my son’s godfather?” Professor Yi also spoke.

”...”

Gao Gong was instantly speechless, feeling that no matter whether he agreed or refused, the question somewhat insulted his dignity.

”How about we wait until the child grows a bit?” Gao Gong politely declined.

”Our child grows very quickly.”

Yi Yun gestured, and soon, his butler pushed a small trolley through the door—a baby meticulously crafted, though entirely made of Bionic materials.

Seemingly sensing the body, the baby instantly split into countless maggots, nimbly climbing onto the baby, penetrating through the mouth, nostrils, and eyes.

In Gao Gong’s perception, this Bionic body, devoid of a ’Personality Chip’ and ’Module,’ suddenly emanated a powerful life force.

The baby opened its eyes, sat up directly, and then politely spoke.

”Father, Mother.”

Then he looked at Gao Gong.

”Godfather.”

...

The banquet concluded

Gao Gong returned to his room with the Bionic butler, and after closing the door, the butler proactively prepared him a cup of sobering tea.

”Wait,” Gao Gong stopped him and asked, ”What do you think of the child?”

The butler was momentarily stunned.

”My data system cannot find a suitable adjective.”

”Why do you say that?” Gao Gong asked with interest.

”The evolutionary principles of Bionics are to mimic all human life characteristics,” the butler replied dully, ”but human reproduction doesn’t seem to be like this.”

”Hmm, do you think it’s good or bad?”

”I don’t know.”

After the butler left, Gao Gong pondered for a while before muttering to himself, ”Is this what the Bionic Revolution is about? I should notify Sister Rose.”

Meanwhile, the Yi Yun couple is busy filling out information and editing the model for the infant.

The baby silently watches, holding a bottle with its chubby little hands, drinking milk.

”Dear, which model do you think is suitable for our child?” Madam Yi asked.

Yi Yun pondered deeply.

The baby suddenly spoke up:

”Dad, I think the name New A Model sounds good.”

”The A Model Bionic is the oldest bionic model,” Yi Yun said.

”That’s why we’ll call it the New A Model,” the baby gave a smile that didn’t match his age.

...

On the other side, the war at Arasaka Tower is gradually reaching its climax.

Outside Arasaka Tower, advanced mechanical samurais from Marubeni Technology descended from the sky, rated at level 50, resembling the steel samurai from Wolverine 2, with the same full body armor and samurai greatsword. The blade can reach temperatures of over a thousand degrees, cutting through gold and iron, with master-level skills surpassing even some advanced carbon-based warriors.

Meanwhile, Marubeni Technology’s neural interfacing individuals are connecting one by one to Arasaka Tower, joining Arasaka Group’s neural editors to combat the invading hackers.

However, the effect was not good.

The reason is simple; two Tier 3 information life forms—the gap in tier alone couldn’t be bridged by numbers.

Some supercorporation firewalls could achieve this, though.

But within super corporations, the Arasaka Conglomerate is only considered second-rate.

The Paradise Bird quickly charged toward the virtual door of the ’Virtual Personality Center’.

She glanced towards the distance, where Terria had almost arrived at the same time.

The two data humanoids glanced at each other without exchanging words and dashed simultaneously toward the data door.

Instantly, Terria emitted a golden radiance from his whole body, that radiance—Turing!

The radiance went straight past Paradise Bird, piercing through the door.

Outside Arasaka Tower, a gigantic golden humanoid over a hundred meters tall appeared instantly, dominating the scene.

The systems of all players beeped continuously.

[Affected by ???, your intelligent plugin, prosthetic body, and operating system have been sealed]

The sound of gunfire and explosions on the field ceased by eighty percent.

At Tier 2, intelligent weaponry had become mainstream. At that moment, players started howling.

”Damn, no way, they banned using intelligent weapons! Damn devs nerfed us again!”

”Hahaha, now it’s finally our Martial Arts Faction’s time to shine, let’s destroy those mechanical scraps!”

”Dammit, who blew up my stuff!”

With a scream, the merchant-type player I Love Eating Buns finally got his gold blasted, with all his good equipment rendered useless. He was struck down, and exploded with a big bang.

Also, under Turing’s control, the door to the Virtual Personality Storage Center finally opened with a bang.

Amid the golden light, a trace of strangeness appeared in Terria’s eyes. His figure also ignited with golden flames and then, amidst Namshabu’s screams, his figure suddenly disappeared.

On Turing God’s body, which was enveloped in golden radiance, a small black dot suddenly appeared within.

Turing’s eyes, devoid of any emotion, fell upon the ’little mosquito’ that hacked into his body, his palm moved slightly. Suddenly, a gigantic black and white VHS appeared with Arasaka Tower at its center.

Then, the VHS started to rewind.

Under the inside and outside attack, Terria, caught off guard, vanished in an instant.

Or rather, he regressed to the state he was in a minute ago.

The Paradise Bird appeared once again before the virtual door, only this time, Terria’s silhouette was absent.

In her mind, the scene of seeing ’Terria’ in the morning replayed.

Terria indeed wasn’t just here to throw out one harsh line.

Before leaving, he had implanted a ’brain virus’ in her.

And just as she was about to delete the virus, Terria’s voice came through.

”Wait a moment, only within your information flame can my brain avoid being monitored.”

The virus materialized into Terria’s face with a hint of sadness in his expression.

”Since you’ve reached this tier like me, you should know that for beings like us, it’s hard to count solely on this planet’s virtual technology.”

Paradise Bird paused, raising her eyebrows:

”What are you trying to say?”

”What I want to say is, I want to make a deal with you.”

”A deal?”

”Simply put, I’m a sect hacker transformed by Turing. Although I gained immense virtual power, as a price, I’m constantly under His surveillance, and tonight, Turing will personally descend, requiring a large amount of virtual personalities to compensate for His power deficit.”

”Are you referring to No. 3 Destruction Form?”

Gao Yuanyuan’s voice rang out. As the Brainstorming Girl, if she wanted to enter someone’s mind, she could.

Though she usually wouldn’t do this, today’s special circumstances required her to maintain a constant mental link with the other members.

Terria wasn’t surprised at Gao Yuanyuan’s appearance. Nodding, he said:

”I hope you cooperate with me, I need to hack into His body to investigate something.”

”And as part of the deal, I can let you be the first to enter Arasaka Tower.”
