Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 826: Chapter 350: Plan

It turns out that letting go of oneself had an extraordinary effect. Almost the moment the meeting ended, the initially few dozen insect eggs began to rapidly increase—two digits, three digits, four digits.

Soon, Gao Gong’s body was crammed full of these eggs, and quite a few of them even hatched, transforming into thumb-sized insects crawling around inside him.

”Quite effective.”

Gao Gong exhaled a long breath; he had anticipated this scene.

The more one interferes with the reproduction of the Memory Mother, the more one will be affected by it.

Fortunately, the nearly three thousand consciousnesses proved extremely effective this time. Just as his body was completely infested by insect eggs, a stream of icy energy suddenly flowed from his brain, spreading a cool sensation throughout his body.

Many of the eggs, which had grown to the size of chicken eggs, shrank back to the size of grains of rice.

And when the Divine Knowledge shut down, there was no sign of injury on Gao Gong, neither externally nor internally, nor could parasites be detected in his body.

”Minister, there’s not a scratch on you. Conversely, you don’t seem like a creature from this planet,” Miss Ke remarked.

”Is that a compliment?”

”Of course. If you were employed at any biological company, you’d enjoy the top-notch surgical services.”

”I’ll take that as a compliment then.”

Gao Gong pondered for a moment and picked up the virtual proposal on the ’Player Recruitment Plan’ from all his plans.

”Miss Ke, if one day I’m not around, or if I disappear for a short time, this ’plan’ among all of my initiatives takes the highest priority. In fact, you can even entrust the details of other plans to these ’players’.”

”I understand. But Minister, are these ’players’ truly worthy of such trust from you?”

Gao Gong rubbed his chin.

”It’s still hard to say. As the saying goes, ’When the sky falls, a tall person holds it up,’ and I am that tall person. When I’m holding it up, some pests called the 4th Celestial Calamity might be more useful than decent people.”

”Alright, it’s been recorded and filed.”

”By the way, Miss Ke, if one day all your data gets erased, would you die?”

”I serve as a large artificial intelligence for the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division. As long as the Shell Attack Center exists, so will I, but I might forget some data.”

”That’s truly unfortunate.”

”Minister, what do you mean by unfortunate?”

”Nothing. By the way, Miss Ke, when can we see your human form?” Gao Gong changed the subject, showing a playful expression.

”The probability of that is not high, as manifesting a human form neither enhances my data communication nor allows others to conduct their work normally. Even the Count once asked me about this probability, and my calculation result was 0.0041%.”

”That’s already quite high.”

Gao Gong paused and said:

”I’m going out for a bit.”

”When will you be back approximately?”

”I’ll be back soon. There’s something I want to clarify.”

A flash of purple light, and Gao Gong vanished.

Miss Ke looked at the vacant chair of Yagami Suuji and entered standby mode.

...

Yagami Suuji had another dream, in which she was dismantled, disassembled, and reassembled, pieced together from the corpse of a deceased ’Yagami Suuji’ to carry out actions called ’human experiments.’

In this mission, some Yagami Suuji became deserters and traitors, and so they were disassembled and dismantled; some even turned rogue, killed their protectors, and joined anti-human organizations, and they were exterminated.

The remaining ’test subjects,’ their humanity grew richer. They were willing to sacrifice themselves to protect human children and block gunfire, or stay in the base for the organization’s future and light the last bomb.

Finally, these perfect ’Yagami Suuji’ entered the operation chamber, where prosthetic bodies were disassembled and reassembled one by one.

Then, ’she’ opened her eyes.

Yagami Suuji sat up abruptly, gasping for air. Although the artificial skin immediately controlled sweat gland secretion, she still couldn’t help feeling drenched in sweat.

”Another nightmare?”

Across from her was an old desktop computer, the screen reflecting a delicate face. The lack of artificial skin on its upper body revealed her as a Bionic Man.

”I’m going to shower.”

Yagami Suuji walked into the shower room, and soon, the sound of water was heard.

”I say, are you really not going back to the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division? Your department has a lot of experts in special operations; getting help from a couple of them would make it convenient for our tasks.”

”This mission is absolutely confidential, and no external recruitment is allowed.”

The female bionic hacker rolled her eyes.

”Big sis, even though we can access the Six Ministries’ resources, you must also understand that we’re going to invade a fortress, and resources alone can’t invade the Mother City.”

”So we have to wait for the right opportunity.”

”What opportunity? To maintain your confidentiality mode, I’ve been offline for half a year and have no idea what’s happening outside.”

”The Cloud City has returned.”

”The Cloud City, the former stronghold of the Cloud Nobility that got hacked?” The female bionic hacker’s interest was piqued.

”Yes, in a month, the main lines of the Cloud Nobility will visit the fortress. That time point is the best opportunity for infiltration.”

Yagami Suuji paused and said: ”They also agree with me.”

”If you say it’s feasible, then it must be,” the female bionic hacker displayed a disdainful expression, ”Those starlight cockroaches—I thought losing a cockroach nest would kill a bunch of them; who would have thought they could survive and return. Heaven truly has no eyes.”

”Stop talking nonsense.”

Yagami Suuji walked straight out of the shower room, completely bare except for a towel over her shoulder.

She dexterously tapped the keyboard, turning complex maps into 3D representations.

”Let’s confirm again, what we’re infiltrating this time is a fortress!”

...

Bionic Group Headquarters

”Ms. Rose, these are the invitations from the Miller Clan and the Xie Clan.”

”Miller and Xie, don’t they both hold shares in two other corporations?” Dr. Aixin casually sat on the desk, unceremoniously accepting the invitations and perusing them.

”Be careful; from what I know, these two clans have links to some Civilization Influences. Inviting all the main lines of the Cloud Nobility this time is likely with ill intentions.”

”I am well aware,” Black Rose replied.

”But don’t worry too much. You hold the imprints of two bionic ancestors, which is equivalent to having two votes among the twelve Cloud Nobility, no less than them.”

”Indeed.”

Aixin earnestly scrutinized Black Rose, suddenly curious, ”Is this body of yours truly made of human or divine essence? I can’t tell anymore.”
