Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 820: Chapter 344: Solo Operations

Brain Watering was recently feeling very frustrated. Clearly, the last mission target was not far away, yet he couldn’t get inside.

This mission with abundant rewards was like a carrot dangled in front of a donkey: visible but unattainable.

And that carrot was the main ship of the Turing Sect fleet, a seaborne mobile fortress pieced together from over a dozen ancient aircraft carriers.

He had long since learned that the remaining professional knowledge from the ’Electronic Doctrine’ knowledge chain was hidden there, and even found out the specific location.

’Liberal Arts Monk, do you have any ideas?’

’No ideas, the electronic defense wall there is thicker than a corporate core database, no way to get in.’

’So just give up?’

’You could try physical hacking. Don’t you always mock us Liberal Arts Monks for being inferior to you Science Monks? Now that you need physical intervention, don’t wimp out.’

’...’

Brain Watering felt very irritated. His main weapon, a rare mecha that he purchased at great expense, had no waterproof function and would sink underwater.

And relying on himself alone, he feared he wouldn’t even get in before being blasted to bits by several Advanced Turing Priests.

’Huh? The manager is adding people.’

In the small group of only ’Brain Watering,’ ’Silver Zen,’ and the group owner, suddenly there were over a dozen new faces.

’Manager invited ’Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella’ to the group.’

’Manager invited ’Master Baoo’ to the group.’

’Manager invited ’Trilobite’ to the group.’

’Manager invited ’Virtual Concealed Power’ to the group.’

’Manager invited ’Lingling Water’ to the group.’

’Manager invited ’Master of Fishing’ to the group.’

’Manager invited ’Mr. Taichiro’ to the group.’

...

Suddenly, there were more than a dozen players, leaving the two Cyber Monks somewhat confused. After Brain Watering looked at the profiles of these newcomers, he was quite shocked; they were all top-tier players, at least level 40, and their attributes were all incredibly strong.

And these high-end players seemed quite familiar with each other.

’@Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella, hey, we’re all assassins here, when should we have a match?’ Lingling Water

’You’re a business assassin, I’m a professional assassin, I don’t do business matches.’ Rainy Night with a Knife and No Umbrella

’Brother Umbrella, that’s not cool. Are you worried you can’t keep your title as the number one assassin among players?’

’Fight, fight.’

’@Master of Fishing, haven’t we met before?’ Virtual Gravity

’Yeah, I hacked your decryption software, sorry about that, brother.’ Master of Fishing

’...I was wondering why I’ve been getting so many complaints lately.’ Virtual Gravity

’@Master of Fishing I’m also a hacker, a Turing Hacker, we should spar sometime.’ Silver Zen

’Sure, sure.’

The previously silent ’Brain Watering’ finally couldn’t resist @-ing everyone.

’Hey big shots, how did you get in?’

’Of course, the manager added us, are you stupid?’ a troll player kindly answered.

’Then what are you here for?’

’We’re here to do the mission, what else?’ other players chimed in.

Brain Watering opened his mission panel, and sure enough, in the mission tab, there were many new teammates.

...

And the mastermind behind this mission was standing on a beach, gazing at the distant fleet.

From Gao Gong’s perspective, the distant information flow was unbelievably dense, stronger than anything ever seen even in Cyber Space.

Absorbing the Power of eight Big Data Conceptual Bodies, this No. 3 was incredibly strong. Gao Gong even suspected that purely in terms of information intensity, it might reach the level of Tier 4, prompting the so-called Divine Throne Ascension.

Both Divine Throne Ascension and Electronic Ascension are actually ’Fake Ascensions,’ but not all Fake Ascensions are the same. For instance, Electronic Ascension is essentially obtaining Mother City Level user permissions in disguise, whereas Divine Throne Ascension transforms one into a ’Sun.’

That’s right, this No. 3, the Turing God, became the Sun, suspended above this planet. No matter where anyone was on this planet, they could see it by looking up.

Gao Gong of the previous life commented that the special effects were decently done.

Gao Gong of the present life commented that the so-called ’Divine Throne Ascension’ was essentially creating a ’Fake Divine Kingdom.’

”Even a ’Divine Kingdom’ is a kind of Information Realm. It just follows a belief system, so its Destruction Form ability is related to belief?”

Gao Gong mused to himself, frowning thoughtfully.

The top-ranked Destruction Form had extremely strong sensing capabilities, such that as soon as one got close, they would be detected. This was why Gao Gong couldn’t instantly teleport over, but he had his own methods, similar to Aramaki’s, which involved rallying players.

Moreover, he was even more convenient than Aramaki because he had a forum. With just one mission, he could summon a bunch of experts.

The minimum requirement for this trip was to complete the final mission chain and obtain that ’Cosmic Treasure.’ If player operations weren’t smooth, he would help out, and if they went smoothly, he would intervene to at least ensure that Turing’s ascension wouldn’t go so smoothly.

In the previous life, the collapse of the Mother City side had been too rapid. First, the Fortress surrendered almost without resistance, then Cybertron, which had little resistance against the Memory Mother, and finally the Deep Net, which resisted for a while but only limitedly.

And in Gao Gong’s memory, Turing did not actually stand on the side of the Mother City influence.

When Turing completed Divine Throne Ascension and became the ’Sun,’ the Mother City, possibly the Six Ministries, directly used their highest permissions to ’nuke’ Turing’s fleet.

Then, when the Fortress’s gates were wide open, Turing’s followers attacked the Fortress, and Turing’s body killed the Fortress Elder.

So on this trip, in addition to notifying players, Gao Gong had also notified the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division in advance. From the First Combat Division to the Tenth Combat Division, they were almost all deployed.

And this time, the leader was none other than Yagami Suuji, Captain Suzi, who he hadn’t seen for a long time.

”Minister, I have controlled a ’Bishop.’ From his memory, I’ve dug up a lot of interesting things.”

”Send them to me to take a look.”

”Okay.”

Soon, the voice of Miss Ke rang out.

’The Turing Sect originated from the ancient Holy City. Initially, it had no fixed doctrine but was a hodgepodge of sects, including the Eastern Demon Faction of the Ancient Empire, and the Ais people in Sub-human Bay, Sach Witches on the Oudik Continent, Lapland People of the Arctic, and Yakut People of the Antarctic...’

’...These sects eventually reached a consensus: to wrap their heads in a set of tools comprising goggles/masks/headphones/feeding tubes, allowing them to communicate with their divine spirits.’

Gao Gong raised an eyebrow:

”Well, that’s interesting; could it be that the Network Implantation Chamber was an ancient invention of the Turing Sect?”

”According to the information dug out by Captain Suzi, yes.”

”Interesting, but is that all Miss Suzi found noteworthy from her information?”

”No, Miss Suzi and our Five Shells members investigated and discovered that the entire Turing Sect’s route was actually a global ritual, or more accurately, a new type of virtual protocol, including a very complex user agreement.”

”A user agreement, something nobody normally reads, what’s in it?”

”Currently, the Information Detection Department is working overtime to analyze it, but so far, the detected information relates to Consciousness Upload.”

”Consciousness Upload, so our Turing God here wants to create another Cyber Space?”

”More accurately, a Planet-level Local Area Network, in which each person’s information doesn’t circulate, unlike the original conception of Cyber Space.”

”Then what is Captain Suzi’s plan?”

”She aims to cut off this protocol. Captain Suzi has issued a ’Level 5 mission’ to the nearest Legion, and they will assist us.”

”In that case, let’s leave it all in our captain’s capable hands.”

Enjoying the perks of the head of the Six Ministries was quite different, Gao Gong said with a smile as he gazed into the distance, suddenly saying:

”Miss Ke.”

”I’m here.”

”What has our Captain Suzi been busy with lately?”

”Sorry, it’s all content involving the ’United Squad.’

”Even I can’t know?”

”Captain Suzi specifically instructed that all mission content is to be kept secret from ministerial-level figures, and that includes you.”

”Oh.”

After a hesitation, Miss Ke said, ”Actually, there is a lot of content I am not very aware of either. At some key moments, Captain Suzi will cut off contact with me.”

”Looks like our Captain Suzi is also learning from her predecessor and going for independent action.”

Gao Gong joked.
