Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 349: Chapter 121: Corporate Will

The Cyber Test Field supports the development of different technological routes.

Especially for professionals like Dong Gang, if he wants, registering a company is a hundred times easier than for Gao Gong.

Of course, Gao Gong can also bring out the skills he had in his previous life.

However, if he does, the ones causing him trouble won’t be just a few members of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, but Mother City itself.

Moreover, acquiring corporate assets requires real money.

And Gao Gong is not short of money.

After inheriting the assets from the Welfare Gang and the Evil Gang, Gao Gong’s account once approached thirty million Mechanic Tokens.

The Welfare Gang didn’t have much money, but the key is that the Evil Gang, a pyramid scheme-like gang, is extremely rich.

Of course, in Nightless City, money isn’t everything, at least in terms of acquiring ’corporate assets,’ only Dong Gang is qualified.

And the reason he joined Life Industry is because this company has a ’Neuroscience Research Department.’

”Welcome, visitor!”

In the Asset Liquidation Center, a holographic image reappeared, transforming into a large-breasted AI, noticeably startled upon seeing Gao Gong.

”Oh, it’s you again?”

”Have you changed jobs?” Gao Gong looked at the obviously more advanced suit on the other, hardly able to tell it’s a holographic image.

Has this female AI’s data center been successfully built?

”Yes, I’m now an asset handler in the bankruptcy department,” the large-breasted AI hesitated for a moment: ”According to my database information, you’re not qualified to purchase?”

”I don’t have it, he does. I’m his male secretary!” Gao Gong opened his backpack and pulled out Dong Gang’s head.

”Yes, he is my secretary.” The head spoke.

Fortunately, the other was an AI; if it were a real person, they’d probably be scared witless.

A scanning beam swept across the head, confirmed the identity, the large-breasted AI remained expressionless, gesturing invitingly.

Gao Gong placed the head on a magnetic board, allowing it to slide on its own, casually asked: ”Are there many companies going bankrupt lately?”

”Many, mostly physical enterprises.”

Similar to ancient physical enterprises, physical enterprises here refer to companies unrelated to Cyber Space.

And the reason is simple.

Beautiful Interconnection absorbed over a dozen virtual side companies, forming the Illusionary United Corporation.

When a technological route reaches a certain stage, it naturally encroaches on the resources and manpower of different routes.

Hence Nightless City recently experienced a wave of corporate bankruptcies.

The failed companies include medical side companies, prosthetic development firms, small weapon research vendors, all sorts.

’Life Industry’ is among them, considered the largest bankrupt company.

As a company known for researching spiritual potions, the advent of the Moral Chip caused their business volume to drop to zero; ’Life Industry’ was instantly obliterated.

”Currently, the remaining physical assets of Life Industry are a neuroscience center, a drug development center, a human experiment center. These are the equipment data of these centers.”

Gao Gong received the equipment list, found that all the equipment he needed was there, and nodded in satisfaction.

Dong Gang, on the other hand, saw some advanced equipment in the neuroscience center, and his eyes lit up as well.

”Even in bankruptcy clearance, these equipment are not cheap,” the large-breasted AI perked up its chest, a ’QR code identification’ program appeared on its chest, ”I need proof of funds.”

Gao Gong nodded, took out his citizen card, and swiped at the chest.

Soon, a string of zeros appeared.

In Nightless City, gangs don’t belong to illegal organizations, so the Mechanic Tokens of gangs are considered normal trading currency, not needing money laundering.

Soon, the large-breasted AI was dazzled by the string of zeros and immediately downloaded the ’Green Tea Template,’ rubbing against Gao Gong.

It seemed like it wanted to have some data communication.

”Boss, are you sure you want to acquire ’Life Industry’?” To demonstrate its value, the large-breasted AI began to reveal some insider information.

”Although these corporate assets can operate normally and the auction price is cheap, keep in mind, once the acquisition is completed, you inherit its debts, which are data taxes!”

On Mechanical Split Star, you don’t need to pay money to start a company; what you need to pay is technological achievements, is experimental results, is large-scale data interaction outcomes.

And the debts of these bankrupt companies are especially high.

Owing money isn’t a big deal, but if you don’t pay taxes, there hasn’t been a single surviving example yet.

”No problem, I’ll take it,” Gao Gong smiled: ”Then let me see the other bankrupt companies.”

In the early stages of the Cyber Test Field, players instinctively learned the ’suicidal collision’ operation.

By the intermediate stage, ’suicidal collision’ entered the next phase, called ’bankruptcy acquisition.’

Amass a large amount of money, acquire bankrupt companies, then sell equipment and blueprints in the black market, secretly stashing the profits.

And three days later, they’re a good man again.

Gao Gong planned to do something similar.

So besides ’Life Industry,’ he acquired five or six biological enterprises, small weapon developers, prosthetic developers.

Seeing the zeros on the account vanish continuously, the smile on the large-breasted AI’s face gradually disappeared, the green tea module automatically canceled.

It’s over, it’s over, indebted men aren’t appealing.

The large-breasted AI was dissatisfied, but Gao Gong was quite satisfied.

The reason is simple, the momentum of ’Illusionary United’ has been established, and the bankrupt companies actually have many high-quality assets, including one ’Paleontology Research Institute’ even established by a biological expert from a ’Biological Mutation Association.’

A biological expert is a level 20 full-level secondary profession.

It’s definitely an unexpected delight.

”By the way, I need a professional headhunter, a professional executive, and a leader for the security department, can you help?”

Gao Gong pulled out another memory card and swiped it across the chest of the big-chested AI.

’Beep—’

The green tea module has been successfully re-downloaded!

...

Director Du was willing to scrimp and save, but he would never let his own little wolfdog go hungry, so when Daisila came over, she also brought an account.

The account contained money Director Du earned from tightening screws, which Gao Gong used to show off.

[Your personality -1]

The headhunter Gao Gong was looking for was quickly found.

”At your service, most revered Mr. Gao,” a flamboyantly dressed robot said with a serious face, bowing down as if to kiss Gao Gong’s shoe.

Gao Gong decisively took a step back and looked at the big-chested AI.

”Jarvis is one of the best headhunters in Nightless City,” the big-chested AI quickly displayed the other party’s credit qualifications, past achievements, and AI level.

It’s an advanced AI with a big data center.

Gao Gong sized him up, such a high-level headhunter, you couldn’t tell from the appearance.

”This guy once lambasted Hugh Laurie on a TV show and is now blacklisted by most Nightless City enterprises.”

”Cough cough, misunderstanding, it was all a misunderstanding, Mr. Xiu and I are the epitome of ’no meeting without a fight.’”

Jarvis continually signaled with his eyes to the big-chested AI, now in the commercial circle of Nightless City, who would dare offend that newly minted business mogul, not to mention the mergers of over a dozen enterprises and the integration of corporate will, which were enough to prove that person’s means.

Gao Gong was not afraid of the new helmsman of the Illusionary Union, shrugged, and headed upstairs first.

”Alright, let’s hold off on recruiting, take me to see the last item.”

”Life Industry’s corporate will.”

...

Corporate will is the core of a company, its soul.

Only companies that possess corporate will are considered real enterprises.

Because employees may have selfish motives, management may have selfish motives, but corporate will does not, it will adhere to a company’s business philosophy until the end of its corporate lifespan.

Once a company declares bankruptcy, the corporate will is immediately sealed. If it goes to auction, it will be devoured by other corporate wills, if not sold, it will be devoured by the mechanical main brain.

Not everyone is qualified to harness the corporate will.

There are plenty of managers who have been devoured by it.

In some large companies, the CEO changes exceptionally frequently, and this is the reason.

’Life Industry’s’ corporate will was sealed in a white room, and Gao Gong smelled a strong potion odor.

”Is this, a sedative?”

The big-chested AI nodded, looking much more cautious.

”Probably due to Life Industry’s development direction, this corporate will is particularly ’active,’ so we had to use physical means to calm it down.”

”In fact, several acquisition agencies visited before you, but eventually all gave up, partly due to this reason.”

”Is that so.”

Gao Gong made no comment, merely pushing the door open to enter.

Corporate will manifests in various forms, some akin to artificial intelligence, some as a central main brain, and some even as a living person.

And Life Industry is the latter, and not just an ordinary person, but a pair of twin siblings.

As Gao Gong pushed open the door, he instantly felt a tangible spiritual power sweep over him.

[You received a ’corporate will - dual halo’ attack, your frontal lobe cells accelerate secretion, your amygdala cells slow secretion]

The frontal lobe is the movement center

The amygdala is the emotional center

At this moment, Gao Gong experienced a sensation of ice and fire, one side blazing hot, sweating like rain, the other with a mindset akin to entering Wise Man’s Time.

”The healthy, make them sick.” A childish female voice rang out.

”The sick, make them healthy.” A childish male voice chimed in.

”In between, lies biological evolution.” Both childish voices sounded simultaneously.

”Mentally normal, make them abnormal.”

”Mentally abnormal, make them normal.”

”In between, lies spiritual sublimation.” Both childish voices rang out once more.

Gao Gong trembled all over, with difficulty breathing, widespread spasms throughout his body, while large areas of bruising appeared on the surface of his skin.

Yet on a spiritual level, an indescribable pleasure was born, as if being lashed by a hundred rich ladies.

The twin siblings exchanged a glance, a proud look flashing in their eyes.

No one can control us.

Only we can master life!

However, in the next moment, the flesh of the man in front of them was swiftly torn apart, and a mechanical monster strode out, towering above, a prosthetic eye glowing red.

”Kids, have you played enough?”

The missile launcher within the exoskeleton shifted direction, with a dozen gun barrels of the shuttle-shaped mayfly gun simultaneously radiating energy!

”Or shall we continue?”

The twin siblings immediately huddled together in fear, trembling.
