Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

”Who’s who, whoever snatched the kill, show your butt voluntarily!”

”Little bro drifting aimlessly, only regretting not meeting a bright master. Big boss, if you don’t mind, I’d like to pledge loyalty as my godfather.”

”I am rich, and I’ll pay cash for any gear you get from drops!”

”Who! Who is it!” Baozi glared around warily, sure he was the last to attack, but certainly not the only one.

He looked over at Boss Hui, who sighed and shrugged.

He then turned to Lingling Water, and the Business Assassin sheathed his tachi and rolled his eyes, ”Stop looking at us, it’s not someone from our group.”

”How do you even know? It can’t be an NPC, can it?”

”As a professional, I can definitely tell you that during our attack, someone hacked into the boss’s brain.”

The usually silent Zhang Aiping rarely nodded in agreement.

”Brain hacking, Neural Editor? It can’t be the legendary Cyber Hacker, can it?”

Baozi thought of PP Boss, but she didn’t participate in this mission.

’Stop looking around, it’s me, Baozi, I got the final hit.’

On the player board, an avatar resembling a hotel card lit up.

Such a flamboyant avatar, clearly the style of a sleazy person, which in fact was true, though it belonged to a Goddess-level sleazy person.

Sister Ji.

Ah, how could I forget about her!!

’You can come out!? How come I didn’t see you?’ Baozi hurriedly asked.

’I’m still at the nightclub; while you’re outside grinding monsters, our club is grinding monsters too.’

’But I can indeed come out now, wait until this afternoon, we haven’t gathered for a while, invite everyone over, it’s on me!’

’We’ve never met in the game, how’s that possible!’ Baozi complained inwardly.

Upon hearing Sister Ji snatched the kill, Baozi felt contented, given they were old friends, but still mulled over how she managed the feat without being present.

Red Dream Club

Sister Ji’s tentacles wrapped around Ahong’s neck like a wriggling scarf, her eyes sparkled with light, teasingly, ”Ahong little brother, thank you for the virtual invasion, how should I thank you?”

Ahong, who always had a weak spot for Tentacle Girl, blushed and replied modestly, ”No problem, no problem, if you have such troubles in the future, just call me, I—”

Before Ahong could finish, the blackened Aidolu appeared behind him, and the electric shock module initiated instantly.

”How dare you find another one!?”

One Aidolu after another approached menacingly, including Mechanical Girl, Punk Girl, Bio-Fusion Girl, Structured Girl, Chainsaw Girl...

These girls shared a common trait: they all had a violent streak. To satisfy certain indescribable desires, Ahong crafted their tactile systems to be incredibly realistic, making them, even as virtual girls, feel just like normal humans—and hit like them too!

Ahong was electrocuted into frothing at the mouth, convulsing violently.

As a typical green tea bitch, Sister Ji always flirted then fled, never giving the main partners a chance to pull each other’s hair and tear clothes.

”Dear heavens, I’ve been singing lamentations behind bars for a month, finally I’ve been released!!”

”A perfectly good online game turned into a single-player experience by me!!!”

...

To Sister Ji.

While I’m not in the scene, the scene still remembers my legend.

To a certain someone.

Once, I was a legend, until the boss slapped me against the wall.

Currently, in front of the silver warrior’s ’big’ pose, a group of players clicked their tongues.

”So this is the mecha from the game, pretty cool, even when fallen, still cool!”

”The mecha seems pretty weak, getting slapped down so easily.”

”Nonsense, the boss we fought and its peak stage are entirely different beasts; I guarantee you the boss we fought has just one tenth, no, one percent of the power seen in the cutscene.”

”Saying one percent is an exaggeration, more like one thirtieth.”

”I think at least one fiftieth.”

”Clear the way, clear the way, let me take a photo with the mecha!”

”Hey, is there someone inside the mecha?”

”And he’s bald.”

”Could it be that the one slapped against the wall is the forum-famous mecha coach, genius pilot, and legendary Brother Da?”

”Impossible, isn’t our Brother Da always piloting EVA, battling the waves at sea?”

”Such a pathetic role, how could it be our handsome, dashing, charming Brother Da?”

Gao Da rolled his eyes, deeply regretting showing off, who would’ve known this human form boss had such brute strength, stronger than a B-level Radiation Beast.

All said and done, he barely took out any monsters, having been wallpapered for nearly an hour.

”Hey, you guys, cut the sarcasm and help pull me out!”

”Brother Da, how do we even pull out such big mecha!” a player joked.

”I didn’t ask you to pull the mecha out! Just drag me out, aren’t you seeing me stuck in the airbags?” Gao Da roared angrily.

”That’s a blessing, Brother Da, a standard blessing.”

”Right, look at us players on the Mechanical Split Star, who else gets the experience of being stuck in a mecha? Isn’t it just you?”

”Brother Da, you can demonstrate live how a top-notch mecha pilot climbs out of the mecha pod.”

”Brother Da, are you afraid of heights? If not, why not jump down?”

”Seven stories high, Brother Da won’t die by falling, will he?”

”Why would he? His bloodline-connected EVA will catch him.”

Gao Da rolled his eyes, now truly understanding the consequence of failing to impress. After making numerous unequal terms, Flame Boy was finally rescued by a group of player pals.

”Brother Da, why did you end up doing this quest? And with a bunch of NPCs?” Glasses asked.

”Yeah, hadn’t you been fishing by the sea a while back?”

”What else? The faction leader gave orders, we little followers naturally traveled far and wide to fulfill duty,” Gao Da sighed, wishing he hadn’t come.

”Faction leader, who is that?”

”Whoever issued your mission, that’s who.”

”That handsome shop owner?”

As though uncovering some earth-shattering secret!!

...

With the task completed, player excitement remained unabated, fallen players continued chattering in the group chat, surviving players chatted within the game, and LSP players flirted around the newly emerged ’Spider Mother.’

Meanwhile, those still eager to grind accepted smaller tasks, like cleaning the battlefield and sorting equipment.

Overall, a mission chain was smoothly completed, everyone rejoiced.

As for Baozi, he gathered up I Am a Big Muscle Dominator, Plane, Red Flower Demon, and Eldest Brother Hui, heading to reserve a private room.

These jokester players had pretty good luck, none of them died.

”Can’t you go ahead, I still haven’t got Spider Mother’s autograph!” Big Muscle Dominator complained as he walked.

”Didn’t you hear Brother Da say they might stay in Nightless City for a while, there’ll be plenty of chances later.”

”No idea how Sister Ji got the first kill,” Eldest Brother Hui still lingered on the matter.

”Anyway, the meat’s in the pot, too bad Brother Umbrella wasn’t here, he might’ve snatched the first kill from Sister Ji.”

”Yeah, such a big task chain screams Brother Umbrella’s show-off moment, the key is he shows off and takes us along,” Big Muscle Dominator couldn’t help but add.

”Would have loved to challenge him,” Eldest Brother Hui nodded regretfully.

Suddenly, Baozi stopped in his tracks, staring blankly at a holographic TV projection across the window.

”Baozi, what are you looking at, is it a mature audience only 18+ program?” Red Flower Demon leaned in, only to be blindsided.

”Oh my, Baozi, you’ve changed, you actually enjoy watching hunky guys dance erotically!”

The others all eyed Baozi peculiarly, seemingly asking, ”You’re this type of Baozi? Sister Ji sends adult pics all the time, why are you skipping the usual path for the rough one? Don’t have any death wish.”

”No,” Baozi stared straight at a thong-wearing hunk.

”Don’t you think, this guy looks a lot like Brother Umbrella?”

Starting from Red Flower Demon, everyone’s jaw slowly dropped, while Plane calmly shook his head with a sympathetic expression.

”A hunk with a body like melting butter, wielding a sword to cut down fools at his waist—pathetic! So pathetic!!”
