Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 304: Chapter 77: The Fourth Planet Host (Part 2)

”Sure thing, PP! No wonder you’re such a big fan of academia!”

PP Boss suddenly stood up, speaking in a feverish tone, ”The company has assigned a task, I have to head back immediately!”

Before anyone could respond, PP Boss sprinted out, leaving everyone in disarray.

”What happened to PP?” Sister Ji was shocked, ”I was planning to shop with her after dinner.”

Baozi, Big Muscle Dominator, and Plane exchanged glances, all remembering the previous ’memory loss’ incident.

”Are you saying that after installing the ’workaholic’ personality chip, PP’s personality changed dramatically?”

”Yeah, but this personality change should only be limited to the game,” Baozi worriedly said, ”but I’m concerned about one thing, PP might not have logged off these days, right?”

”How is that possible,” Red Flower Demon instinctively retorted, then suddenly changed her expression, ”Damn, it’s not impossible. As long as she doesn’t log off, she won’t return to normal and can keep grinding, which explains PP’s high level.”

”What do we do now? Inform her parents?”

”Don’t be silly, who knows her parents’ phone number? And with PP’s personality, a standard shut-in, she might not even have friends in real life.”

”So, what do we do?”

Sister Ji raised her head, her face somewhat serious, ”I just asked PP, and she indeed hasn’t logged off these days.”

”This is a big problem!” Baozi rubbed his temples, ”Although everyone is an adult, and grinding occasionally is not impossible. But if she keeps grinding like this, what if something happens?”

”Which company is PP working for?”

”Beautiful Interconnection, I think that’s the name, right?”

”Can we report them?” Big Muscle Dominator came up with an idea.

”You want to report a company for working around the clock in a game? Nice idea, but not a good brain.”

”I can assassinate her superior,” Brother Umbrella casually said before retreating into his introvert mode.

”This, taking out an intermediate manager seems useless, though taking out the company’s CEO would be more fitting.”

Sister Ji suddenly brightened up, ”We got a reply!”

”Who replied?”

”The forum administrator, probably an internal member of the Cyber Realm.”

”What did the administrator say?”

”The administrator said this is a small bug in the game and has reported it to the higher-ups.”

Next moment, with a ’ding’, all players present received a task.

[Task: Small Bug]

Difficulty: Normal

Task Brief: The 100% virtual reality of the game inevitably causes cognitive confusion for some players. Cyber Realm is a positive, uplifting game full of energy, and is vigilant against such ’addiction events,’ solving each case as they appear.

Task Objective: Capture player ’PP Boss’ and take her to Hanging Street, Staff Lane 3-301, where a system-assigned NPC will resolve this issue.

Task Reward: One free prosthetic upgrade

”Staff Lane 3-301, isn’t that where the boss lives? Is the system-assigned NPC my boss?” Baozi paused and said.

”Your boss, that Prosthetic Doctor, right?”

Sister Ji, at Red Dream Club, had received several Prosthetic Doctors, all of whom were gloomy, twisted, and quirky. In her mind, an old man with sunglasses and dozens of modified arms immediately appeared.

”Yeah, pretty much.”

”Anyway, false alarm. Let’s bring PP out tonight and then act!”

Sister Ji glanced around, then suddenly said, ”By the way, where is Hei Bing, our debt-collecting prince, not here today?”

His closest buddy, Plane, spoke up:

”He’s on a mission, changed maps, will be some time before he’s back.”

”Changed maps, where did he go?”

”Sin City, kinda like our Nightless City, they’re both advanced maps.”

”Oh.”

Hei Bing No. 2 barely made an impression, and they quickly changed the topic. After chatting for a while, Sister Ji quietly nudged Baozi.

”What’s up with Brother Umbrella? Why does it seem like he got violated by eighteen strong men?”

Baozi sighed and leaked a small video over, Sister Ji skillfully minimized the sound and opened it.

’Welcome to the Assassin Group’s Selection Competition. This time, the group performing is the G-String Group, and their project is naked assassination. Their target is an 80-year-old rich lady. Let’s see how these handsome and fit male assassins can successfully ’take out’ the target...’

When the last G-string muscle-bound assassin appeared, Sister Ji’s eyes bulged, and she sprayed out a mouthful of artificial fruit juice.

”Pfft—”

”Brother Umbrella, you you you, why did you dive into the sea!?”

Brother Umbrella’s melancholic eyes, haggard stubble, and the dry martini in his hand all pointed to one thing—To complete the task, Brother Umbrella had a past he’d rather forget.

...

”Brother, what are you looking at?”

Gao Yuanyuan looked towards Gao Gong, who smiled and then closed the ’forum administrator’ account.

”Nothing, just a little trouble.”

It was the first time Gao Yuanyuan, after becoming Electronic Life, had returned to reality, where everything felt new, and this little old house was filled with fond memories.

Of course, Gao Gong didn’t let his sweet younger sister risk getting discovered to reminisce.

”Brother, is that Xiao Yu?”

”Hello, I’m Xiao Yu!”

On an old flower pot sat a human head.

It was Xiao Yu!

”I’ve seen your act, amazing!” Gao Yuanyuan said in admiration.

”All for justice!” Xiao Yu’s face gleamed with sanctity.

”Move aside, the operating table’s too small, it’s hindering my performance!”

Gao Gong grabbed the head, threw it onto the sofa, then pressed Xiao Yu’s mechanical body onto the table and started welding with a ’zzz’ sound.

”Brother, you can’t be so rough with a girl!”

”I didn’t give her a reproductive system, she’s not exactly a girl. So do you want one? If you do, I’ll install it for you?”

Though Xiao Yu only had a head left, her face turned red all of a sudden, her mouth opening several times, not knowing what to say.

”Alright, looks like you don’t need it. It’s almost miraculous how Xiao Yu managed to mechanically overload a Mas Sharpness mechanical body. If the head of their weapons department saw it, they’d probably commit seppuku...”

While Gao Gong fixed the mechanical body, Gao Yuanyuan began her work, closing her eyes, floating in the air in a white dress, truly resembling a classic angel compared to Xiao Yu’s Armed Angel.

Countless neural signals emanated from her body, drilling into Xiao Yu’s brain. The next moment, Xiao Yu’s eyes turned white, entering ’Battle Angel’ mode. As ’neural shuttling’ intensified, the white light grew stronger, prompting Xiao Yu to scream in pain.

And Gao Yuanyuan had no intention to stop.

Turns out, what’s sweet and innocent on the outside can be darker inside.

Especially a younger sister with a dual personality.

Just as the white light reached its peak, a streak of golden light flickered. Gao Yuanyuan’s body trembled, and Gao Gong appeared beside her, his hand grasping mid-air. Optical wires instantly covered the whole room, all spiritual nodes lighting up, barely withstanding the massive data flow’s impact.

”Brother! It’s a supercomputer!”

”So it’s true,” Gao Gong scratched his chin. Ever since the battle between this girl and Gao Jin, he had sensed something off. A strike splitting Molecular Bio-Fusion Armor, and the stab through his chest at first sight, couldn’t be simply explained by Seed Burst.

There’s only one possibility: A supercomputer’s ultra-high-speed data processing let Xiao Yu briefly transform into Information Life.

And such a level supercomputer, only three Planet Hosts across the planet could achieve it: Deep Net, Cybertron, Fortress.

Or, does this planet have a fourth Planet Host?
