Not Being a Trainer This Time

The next morning, bright sunlight streamed into the room through the window.

Naoki, who was in the middle of a dream, was suddenly awakened by a phone call.

He groggily opened his eyes, and when he saw the name on the screen, he immediately snapped awake.

Mewtwo?

Why is Mewtwo calling him now?

Naoki sat up from the bed and pressed the answer button.

The next second, Mewtwo’s face appeared on the screen.

It looked at Naoki from the other side and said in a deep voice, ”A Pokemon has arrived.”

”What?” Naoki was slightly taken aback.

But immediately, Mewtwo switched the camera.

Before Naoki could react, he saw a Pokemon with a noble and elegant appearance, possessing a pair of dazzling, colorful wings, perched on the branch of the World Tree, gazing down at the Pokemon Guild below.

Is that... Ho-oh?!

Naoki was astonished, how did Ho-oh come over as well?

Could it be attracted by the World Tree, just like Rayquaza?

Mewtwo’s deep voice continued from the other side: ”It seems to want to stay as well, requesting permission, you should come and handle it.”

Naoki: ”...”

The sudden appearance of a Legendary Beast left Naoki momentarily at a loss, only feeling that his mind was still foggy from just waking up.

After a while, he rubbed his eyes and said, ”Alright, I’ll go over and have a look now.”

”Ah gassi?”

Koraidon opened its sleepy eyes, hearing the noise.

”Come with me out for a bit!” Naoki said to Koraidon while quickly getting dressed.

”Ah gassi~”

Koraidon stretched lazily, shook its head, then happily followed behind Naoki out of the room.

Last night stayed up too late, even the Pokemon in the ranch had a rare chance to sleep in today.

Only Calyrex was up early, sitting on the sofa playing on the phone.

Seeing Naoki rushing out, Calyrex was a bit surprised: ”Naoki? What are you going to do?”

Naoki answered, ”Another Legendary Pokemon has been attracted by the World Tree, I’m going to check it out.”

As he spoke, Naoki suddenly remembered the scenes Calyrex had foreseen in the past.

Back then, Calyrex had seen the World Tree rise into the sky and witnessed Ho-oh perch on it.

It seems Calyrex’s Future Sight is finally coming true today.

Hearing this, Calyrex wasn’t too surprised.

The tree inherently had a great allure for Pokemon, and the natural energy contained within provides tremendous benefits to every Pokemon.

Even Legendary Pokemon like itself are no exception.

If it weren’t for Naoki, it might have already gone to live on the World Tree.

However, compared to there, Calyrex would rather live with Naoki.

Because with Naoki around, it would no longer feel lonely.

Leaving the house in haste, Naoki rode Koraidon and flew into the sky, ascending above the clouds.

The World Tree is located just below Rayquaza’s ozone layer, a place rarely visited by humans or airplanes, so Naoki wasn’t worried about being discovered.

Even if adventurers came here, it wouldn’t be a problem.

Mewtwo’s magical space not only warps the internal dimensions but also confuses intruders’ minds, causing them to encounter ’ghost walls’ or unconsciously veer in another direction until they are far from the World Tree.

But these are no concern for Naoki.

As soon as he entered the area, Mewtwo’s Psychic powers automatically transported him to the Sky Island where the World Tree resides.

Riding the elevator to the top floor, as soon as Naoki touched down, he saw Mewtwo levitating with both feet off the ground, eyes focused on Ho-oh not far away.

Ho-oh was brightly observing the actions of those Pokemon around.

Watching them weave through shops, making sushi to greet Pokemon customers, or picking Berries from the orchard and moving them into the warehouse.

At this time, the two Pokemon seemed to sense something and turned their heads to look back.

Naoki, with Koraidon beside him, approached, seeing Mewtwo made him feel Mewtwo increasingly resembled a security guard.

”Hello, Ho-oh.”

Naoki greeted Ho-oh politely.

”You know me?” Ho-oh appeared quite curious.

”Mew and Teddiursa have told me about you before.” Naoki explained.

Upon hearing this, Ho-oh immediately understood.

”You are the Trainer of those two Pokemon.”

Naoki smiled, ”No, I’m just the logistics for the Heroic Expedition Team.”

Ho-oh didn’t understand what logistics meant, but from the recent conversation with Mewtwo, it became clear that Naoki was the owner of this World Tree.

Looking up at this big tree, Ho-oh felt emotional, and then gracefully inquired:

”This place is much more beautiful than where I used to live, if possible, could I stay here? As thanks, I can offer assistance within my abilities.”

Ho-oh initiated a residency application!

Agree or refuse?

If agreed, there will be another Legendary Pokemon on the World Tree from now on, increasing Ho-oh’s favorability.

If refused, Ho-oh may leave directly, lowering its favorability.

Facing such a kind-hearted Pokemon that has always believed in humans, Naoki felt he had no reason to refuse.

Moreover, if Ho-oh moved in, it might bring Marshadow, Entei, Suicune, and Lei Gong along in the future.
