My Talent Skill Mutated

After returning to the villa, Chen Yu quickly fell asleep under Sophie’s care.

He woke up naturally after a full night’s rest.

The next morning, Chen Yu followed Director Xu to the Capital City Superpower Academy.

The other students also boarded a bus to go with them.

At nine in the morning, the tournament organizer announced the final rankings. Chen Yu had indisputably taken first place.

He also received his reward.

One hundred Celestial Spirit Pearls, which contained far more immense energy than the Spirit Pearls he had previously redeemed with points.

On the main stage, the tournament organizer looked at Chen Yu and said,

”Student Chen Yu, as the champion of this tournament, is there anything you’d like to say?”

”Hmm, I felt the final round was a bit too easy. If possible, you should increase the difficulty next time. It would be better with more powerful mutant beasts,” Chen Yu said flatly.

The tournament organizer: ”...”

The other students: ”...”

The representatives of the twelve academies: ”...”

’Increase the difficulty? Some nerve, complaining right after he’s won...’

’Does he think everyone is like him?’

’The sheer audacity...’

Watching Chen Yu on the stage, the crowd of students cursed him in their hearts but didn’t dare to say anything out loud.

His words sounded arrogant, but it was true he had the strength to back them up.

He could even take down a Level 7 Mutant Beast. No one could argue with that.

”...Um, alright, Student Chen Yu. We will take your suggestion into consideration. Is there anything else you’d like to say?” the tournament organizer asked with a smile.

”Nope.”

”...”

The awards ceremony came to an end.

The tournament was officially over.

And Chen Yu’s name spread far and wide through news reports.

As the champion of the Global Superpower Academy Tournament, he instantly became the center of attention online.

「In a luxurious villa in Capital City.」

Inside one of the rooms, an old man sat in a chair, his gaze fixed on a virtual video screen before him.

On the screen was footage from the tournament’s awards ceremony.

”Chen Yu... is he the one who dealt with the Demon Lizard Race back in Jiang City?” the old man asked softly.

Beside him, a man dressed in black nodded.

”Yes, President. The champion of this tournament is that same Chen Yu,” the man in black replied.

The old man nodded, his cloudy eyes watching the virtual screen. ”It seems this person is even more formidable than we expected. He must be made to work for me!”

The man in black looked at the old man. ”President, I’m afraid that won’t be so easy now. Chen Yu has won the global tournament. The Superpower Alliance is sure to take notice. What if...”

”His achievements are no less than Dongfang Yi’s. Based on his current performance, he might even surpass him. You don’t need to worry about the Superpower Alliance. Just do your job,” the old man said flatly.

”Yes, sir!”

The man in black nodded.

The old man watched the video, silent for a moment. ”If that’s truly not possible, then we cannot allow him to join the Superpower Alliance. You arrange it. Find an opportunity.”

”This... President, I’m afraid that might be difficult to arrange,” the man in black said with hesitation.

”Is it difficult to arrange?” The old man looked up at the man in black, a sudden pressure erupting from him.

THUMP!

The man in black immediately dropped to his knees, his face instantly turning deathly pale.

”Do you think that just because I’m old, my orders no longer carry any weight?” the old man said coolly.

At his words, sweat immediately beaded on the man in black’s forehead. ”President, that’s not what I meant. I’m just worried that this Chen Yu will be difficult to control.”

”I don’t want to hear excuses. Find a way yourself,” the old man said, his expression placid.

”Yes, yes, of course. I... I will find a way,” the man in black stammered, nodding frantically.

”Get up,” the old man said, the pressure instantly dissipating.

The man in black breathed a sigh of relief and got back to his feet.

”Under the right circumstances, you can cooperate with the Demon Lizard Race,” the old man said suddenly.

Huh?

The man in black froze, staring at the old man.

”President, the Demon Lizard Race is vicious and ambitious. Cooperating with them would be a huge risk,” the man in black said with a worried expression.

”Without risk, how can there be reward?”

”I’m not asking you to go to the Demon Lizard Race’s main camp. What are you afraid of?”

”Understood. I will handle it,” the man in black nodded.

”You may go,” the old man said.

”Yes, sir!”

The man in black nodded, then turned and left.

The old man’s gaze returned to the video screen, and he remained silent.

...

After the awards ceremony, Chen Yu’s group didn’t rush to leave Capital City. They rested there for a day before boarding a helicopter for their return trip on the second day.

As dusk fell, Chen Yu’s group returned to Jingzhou.

Upon returning to the Superpower Academy, Chen Yu was immediately dragged off by Director Xu to see the Dean.

In the Dean’s office, standing before his desk, the Dean looked at Chen Yu with a brilliant smile on his face.

Champion!

Chen Yu winning the championship was a pleasant surprise.

The last time they had won was with Dongfang Yi.

The Dean had already learned of the tournament results. Looking at Chen Yu, the more he looked, the more he liked what he saw.

”You’ve worked hard. You brought honor to our academy, and the academy will not treat you unfairly,” the Dean said, looking at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu replied, ”You praise me too much, Dean. As a student of this academy, it’s only right that I should represent it.”

The Dean laughed heartily. ”Good! It’s good that you have such an attitude. Rest assured, the academy will hold a celebration for you tomorrow. When the time comes, you won’t be shorted a single bit of your reward.”

”Dean, how about we just skip the ceremony? Just give me the reward directly,” Chen Yu said, looking at the Dean.

The Dean shook his head, his expression turning serious. ”How could we do that? The ceremony is essential. An honor like this doesn’t come around often. It must be held.”

Chen Yu: ”...”

”Alright, then,” Chen Yu nodded.

Seeing Chen Yu’s expression, the Dean chuckled. ”You brat, why do you seem a little reluctant?”

”...I’m not.”

The Dean glanced at him but didn’t press the issue. His expression grew serious as he looked at him and said, ”After the ceremony tomorrow, I need to introduce you to someone. This will concern your entire future.”

”?”

Chen Yu looked at the Dean in surprise, his curiosity piqued.

”Who is it?”

”Someone from the Superpower Alliance. A master from the Eastern Faction. As for the specifics, I can’t tell you too much right now. You’ll find out when you meet them tomorrow,” the Dean said slowly.

’The Superpower Alliance... the Eastern Faction.’

Chen Yu lowered his head in thought.

”Don’t worry, it’s not a bad thing,” the Dean said, patting his shoulder.

”Alright, you’ve had a long flight; you must be tired. Go back and get some rest for now.”

At the Dean’s words, Chen Yu nodded and left the office.
