My Talent Skill Mutated

Chen Yu nodded and followed Tianhai Yoou into the office building.

Taking the elevator, the two quickly reached the thirty-third floor—the top floor.

Stepping out of the elevator, Tianhai Yoou led him to the door of an office on the top floor.

She knocked on the office door, and a voice came from inside.

”Come in.”

Tianhai Yoou pushed open the office door, and Chen Yu followed her inside.

The office was huge, at least two or three hundred square meters. At a desk, an old man with snow-white hair was looking over a document.

”Dean, Chen Yu is here,” Tianhai Yoou said.

The white-haired old man looked up, revealing a rather weathered face.

As their eyes met, Chen Yu felt a faint, formless pressure.

Even though it wasn’t an intentional display of power, the inadvertent wisp of an aura from a top-tier powerhouse was enough to create an overwhelming sense of oppression.

The aura was invisible, yet it could be felt.

A Ninth Level Peak existence, just one step away from a True God!

”Student Chen Yu, it’s an honor to meet you, Dean.” Chen Yu calmed himself and spoke, neither servile nor overbearing.

The Dean nodded lightly, then looked at Tianhai Yoou. ”Thank you for your trouble. You may go back now.”

”Yes!” Tianhai Yoou nodded and turned to leave.

The office door closed softly. The Dean looked at Chen Yu, a smile appearing on his aged face. ”Have a seat. I just need to finish up some paperwork.”

Chen Yu didn’t stand on ceremony, walking over to a sofa and sitting down without hesitation.

The Dean lowered his head and scribbled a few things on the document, then closed the file and stood up.

Walking over to Chen Yu, the Dean sat down beside him.

”Student Chen Yu, I’ve heard about you. Your performance on both missions was outstanding. Very well done!”

The Dean looked at him with an expression full of praise.

Chen Yu: ”You praise me too much, Dean. Both missions just happened to have some unexpected situations.”

”Haha, eliminating a member of the Alien Race is no small contribution,” the Dean said with a beaming smile.

Chen Yu’s expression turned serious. ”It is my duty as a student. As an Awakened, eliminating the Alien Race is an undeniable responsibility.”

Hearing this, a look of gratification appeared on the Dean’s face.

”To have such awareness is rare. The future of the world depends on young people like you.”

The Dean sighed with emotion.

”I’m just contributing what little strength I have,” Chen Yu replied.

The Dean nodded, and his smile vanished as he looked at Chen Yu. ”Student Chen Yu, you’ve made quite a stir this time. The Alien Race may have already noticed you. You’ll need to be more cautious from now on.”

Chen Yu nodded. ”I understand.”

The Dean looked at him and smiled again. ”But you don’t need to worry too much. Although the Alien Race is formidable, they don’t dare to show themselves openly just yet. They’ve also suffered several setbacks on the Stellar Battlefield, so there won’t be any trouble in the short term. Don’t be overly concerned. Remember, the Academy will always have your back!”

”I’ll remember that,” Chen Yu nodded.

”I called you here for another reason besides just meeting you. There’s something I need from you.”

Chen Yu: ”?”

Chen Yu stared at the Dean, momentarily stunned.

”What might that be, Dean?”

Chen Yu was a little curious.

The Dean looked at him and said, ”You should be aware that there are other branches of the Superpower Academy on the Ancestor Star, right?”

Chen Yu nodded. ”I am aware of that. There are twelve Superpower Academies in total.”

The Dean nodded and looked at him. ”This other matter is related to those other academies.”

’Related to the other academies...’

Chen Yu lowered his head.

The Dean looked at him and continued, ”To put it simply, it’s the Academy Ranking Tournament. It’s a world-class event!”

’The Academy Ranking Tournament...’

Chen Yu’s brows furrowed.

’I feel like I’ve heard of it before, but I don’t know the details.’

Dean: ”In one month, the Ancestor Star Global Superpower Academy Ranking Tournament will be held. Each academy will send several of its first-year Elite Students to compete.”

”Are you saying you want me to participate, Dean?” Chen Yu looked at the Dean.

At this point, how could he not understand what the Dean was implying?

The Dean nodded. ”Yes, that’s what I mean.”

”In recent years, our academy’s ranking has been steadily falling. Compared to the other Superpower Academies, the gap is quite large. This time, your performance is arguably the most outstanding among all the new students we’ve had in years.”

”Of course, I’m not forcing you to participate. It has to be your personal decision.”

Chen Yu: ”...”

’He’s already put it like that. What else can I say?’

”Dean, I’m willing to participate,” Chen Yu said after a moment of silence.

”Excellent. Student Chen Yu, I knew I wasn’t wrong about you. Here, have a glass of water first.” A cordial smile appeared on the Dean’s face as he picked up a teapot and poured Chen Yu a cup of hot water.

”...”

”Dean, what is the specific format of this Academy Ranking Tournament?”

Chen Yu asked.

The Dean looked at him and explained, ”The format is simple. You go through a preliminary round and a semifinal round, followed by the finals with twelve contestants. The preliminaries and semifinals consist of sparring matches between students. The finals, however, are different. You’ll need to enter the Abyssal Realm and, within a twenty-four-hour time limit, kill beasts to earn points. The person with the most points will be the champion.”

”Hm?”

’Enter the Abyssal Realm and kill beasts!’

Hearing this, Chen Yu’s eyes suddenly lit up.

’Now this is a finals format I can get behind!’

’I can compete and harvest the Source of Life at the same time.’

’Looks like I wasn’t mistaken. He has a strong sense of honor. Yes, a truly good student.’ Seeing the eager expression on Chen Yu’s face, the Dean’s face broke into a gratified smile.

”Chen Yu, your abilities are quite good. There’s a high chance of success for you in this Academy Ranking Tournament. I can promise you right here that if you place in the top three in the finals, the Academy will give you an additional reward.”
