Chapter 550 -550: I Am Your Sister (5)

Chuzheng thought she would meet this so-called brother.

But she didn’t. Lin Yang just dropped her off at a high-end apartment not far from school.

After telling her about some of the apartment’s facilities, he left a phone number and took off.

Living alone certainly suited her preference.

“Where did this brother of mine come from?” Chuzheng asked King’s Account.

[According to the information, your brother Shen Ming was kicked out of the Shen Family five years ago. Since then, Shen Ming has become a taboo in the Shen Family, and no one dares to mention him.]

[Shen Chuzheng wouldn’t inquire about the outside world, so she didn’t know she had a brother.]

Chuzheng: “…”

Kicked out of the Shen Family?

That’s quite miserable, huh!

Chuzheng searched online for Shen Ming, but found a mess of information and nothing of what she wanted.

What will be, will be. If something happens, then we’ll talk about it.

Thinking so, Chuzheng fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

–

In the car downstairs of the apartment.

The man looked down at his phone, where the screen showed the bedroom of the apartment, with the girl lying on her side on the bed, her profile visible.

“President Shen,” Lin Yang opened the car door and entered. “I just asked around. After the Miss was brought back, she was very shy. She didn’t speak at all during her first two months back at the Shen Family, and only improved a bit in the third month. She doesn’t really have friends and her personality is somewhat introverted and solitary.”

The man tapped the screen with his finger. “You just saw her, what do you think?”

Lin Yang recalled the scene from just now. “She’s completely different from the reports. The Miss seemed very composed and calm. She said she didn’t know me and seemed reluctant to go with me, but then she immediately agreed. During all this, I didn’t notice any emotional fluctuations on her face.”

Such a big contrast.

Lin Yang found it quite strange.

Can a person really change this much?

But Shen Ming didn’t voice any suspicions, and Lin Yang didn’t dare to speak out of turn. Whatever the boss wanted him to say, he said. Saying too much could get him fired.

Shen Ming turned off his phone, and the screen light dimmed. He looked in the direction of the apartment and said, “Let’s go back.”

“Alright.”

–

The next day.

Chuzheng crawled out of bed. She sat there, her cool eyes staring blankly into space, looking lost and innocent.

As if unaware of where she was.

Chuzheng sat for a while before getting out of bed.

She opened the bedroom door and went out to the living room, then suddenly stopped, even taking a half step backward.

Damn it!

That scared the hell out of me.

A man was sitting on the living room sofa, looking down at some documents. Hearing the noise, he raised his head to look over.

The man appeared to be in his mid-twenties. The sunlight fell on his beautiful face, the top two buttons of his white shirt were undone, revealing a hint of his collarbones.

The shallow pupils reflected the fragments of sunlight. When he looked over, there was an imposing aura about him.

His expression was cold, with a slight frown, giving off an extremely ascetic air.

Shen Ming’s name popped into Chuzheng’s mind.

[Hidden mission: Please obtain one Good Person Card from Shen Ming to save the morally fallen Shen Ming.]

Chuzheng: “…” Good Person Card is from my brother! That shouldn’t be hard, right?

No, wait!

That last sentence from Bastard is different from before.

Before it was to prevent the moral fall, but now it’s to save?

So this person has already fallen to the dark side!?

Why is there a different mode?

[Miss, I never said it would always be the same mode. I warned you, there are surprises everywhere~]

You damn Bastard!

[…] Your Bastard is offline, please redial later.

Bastard logged out in a second.

Chuzheng was internally freaking out, but her face showed no change as she stared unwaveringly at Shen Ming.

In Shen Ming’s eyes, the girl, with her messy hair, although her gaze was clear and calm, appeared as if she didn’t know where she was, tinged with a hint of bewilderment.

Shen Ming shifted his gaze and introduced himself, “Shen Ming, I’m your brother.”

“Oh.”

The girl replied with a single word and turned to head towards the kitchen.

Shen Ming watched as she poured herself a glass of water, drained it in one gulp, and slammed the cup down forcefully, producing a sharp sound.

Now she didn’t even need to save the Good Person Card; how could she play the good person?

Should she find someone to kidnap him first, and then rescue him?

Chuzheng seriously considered the feasibility of this plan.

Such a hassle…

“From now on, I am your guardian,” Shen Ming’s crisp voice came.

Just as Chuzheng realized it was a pleasant surprise, she now felt very annoyed. She turned her head to look at Shen Ming, her tone especially cold, “Guardian?”

What on earth was that?

Did she need a guardian?

“Dad… is in the hospital and can’t take care of you, so I’ll take care of you from now on.”

“I don’t need to be taken care of.” She wasn’t a three-year-old baby; what care did she need?

“You are not of age; you must have a guardian,” Shen Ming insisted with an undeniable firmness: “You’ll stay here for the time being.”

Shen Ming closed the document in his hand, stood up, took his jacket and draped it over his arm as he walked out, “I’m waiting for you downstairs, to take you to school.”

Seemingly, Shen Ming was doing everything a brother should do.

Chuzheng stood by the dining table, her hand on her chin, somewhat puzzled.

How exactly was she supposed to get that Good Person Card?

So annoying.

Chuzheng looked at the fruit knife on the dining table, reached out and took it; the gleam of the blade flashed across her eyes.

She violently stabbed the knife into the magazine beside her.

Just rid of it all.

[Rewind, rewind, rewind, rewind…] The King’s Account was so scared it started to glitch.

In the end, it thought with anger and grief: Miss Sister isn’t scared at all now.

–

Chuzheng went downstairs; the car from last night was parked at the door. After thinking it over, she figured getting to school by herself would be troublesome, so she chose to get in the car.

Shen Ming sat inside the car, resting with his eyes closed. The instant the car door opened, he opened his eyes.

His gaze fell on the knife in Chuzheng’s hand—

“Miss, this is breakfast, I didn’t know what you liked so I bought a bit of everything…” Lin Yang looked at the knife in Chuzheng’s hand and swallowed, “…everything.”

What the hell was she doing with a knife early in the morning?

Chuzheng expressionlessly threw the knife away and took the breakfast Lin Yang handed her, “Thank you.”

“No…no problem.” President Shen’s sister was a bit scary.

Shen Ming looked at the knife that had fallen inside the car, pretended not to see it, and ordered, “Drive.”

Chuzheng ate while in the car, and Shen Ming dealt with emails.

Neither of them spoke to each other, as if they were strangers carpooling.

Lin Yang could feel the awkward atmosphere in the car from the front seat.

Shen Ming didn’t get much done with his emails; he was somewhat puzzled at the bottom of his heart. His sister seemed to show no curiosity at all about the sudden appearance of a brother.

As far as he knew, she shouldn’t be aware of his existence.

Didn’t she have any doubts when a stranger suddenly claimed to be her brother?

With the Bastard’s blessing, of course, Chuzheng accepted it without any psychological pressure.

Now, all she could think about was how to find an opportunity to kidnap her brother, then play the unsavory hero.

When Chuzheng got out of the car, she slipped away with the knife again.

Lin Yang watched as Chuzheng strode with resolve, her demeanor as if marching into battle when entering the school, and tentatively looked back: “President Shen, is it okay for the young lady to take a knife to school?”

Shen Ming contemplated, “We should probably hire a lawyer.”

“Yes, indeed, we need one. We’ve just come back, and many people might be waiting to laugh at us. It’s better to have one of our own,” Lin Yang continued.

Shen Ming gave him a glance, lowered his eyes, and said no more.
