God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 934: Chapter 930: Jumping Into the Well

Xiao Tian’s eyes were like lightning, instantly locking onto the staff in Fujiwara Daisuke’s hand. He took a sudden step forward, his toes lightly touching the ground, his body shooting out like an arrow.

Fujiwara Daisuke was slightly stunned; although he had encountered opponents making the first move before, this kind of decisiveness from Xiao Tian was indeed a first.

Quickly raising his right hand, Fujiwara Daisuke pointed the tip of the Star Staff directly at the incoming fist from Xiao Tian. The two forces collided with a loud bang, and the energy shockwave spread out, immediately knocking the onlookers uncontrollably backward.

As for the initiators, Xiao Tian staggered back several steps before regaining his footing, while Fujiwara Daisuke, his face flushed red, retreated two steps, appearing much more distraught than Xiao Tian.

Others might not know, but Fujiwara Daisuke was acutely aware that his formidable combat ability was at least ninety-eight percent due to the Star Staff he wielded, with the other two percent coming from his personal control and unique Magic Technique.

Without the assistance of the Star Staff, his combat abilities would be no different from any ordinary person, or even inferior to the average youth, given that he was essentially a middle-aged man past his prime.

In contrast, Xiao Tian was different. Though in the first round, he seemed at a disadvantage on the surface, the power clearly came from himself without any external aid.

Moreover, considering his recent grasp of opportunities and keen sense of danger, he was undoubtedly a formidable adversary.

Thinking of this, Fujiwara Daisuke gripped the Star Staff even tighter, seemingly afraid that Xiao Tian might suddenly snatch it away.

In truth, Xiao Tian did have this idea. Anyone with eyes could see that the reason Fujiwara Daisuke was strong was because of the staff. Taking it away would render him virtually powerless.

However, just as Xiao Tian prepared to gather True Qi, ready to seize it, the tightly closed door behind him was suddenly pushed open. A man looking very flustered rushed in.

As Xiao Tian swiftly circulated the turbulent True Qi inside him, he glanced over and recognized the man, one of those Fujiwara Daisuke had instructed to guard Fujiwara Akita.

The man rushed in, seemingly oblivious to the hostility in the air, and directly approached Fujiwara Daisuke, bowed respectfully, and said urgently, ”Lord Fujiwara, there’s an incident with Fujiwara Akita!”

Fujiwara Daisuke was forced to temporarily shift his gaze from Xiao Tian and asked coldly, ”What incident?”

The reporting man immediately shivered, cold sweat uncontrollably flooding his forehead, tremblingly replied, ”Just now... we didn’t notice in time, Fujiwara Akita he... he...”

”What happened?!” Daisuke shouted fiercely, exhibiting a rare loss of composure.

Xiao Tian’s matter was not yet resolved, and now there was an issue with Fujiwara Akita, making Daisuke incredibly vexed, reminiscent of the time he confronted the authorities years ago.

”He seemed mad, jumping into the well we use for drinking water,” the man said under pressure, then bowed his head even lower, not daring to look at Daisuke’s expression.

The words caused an uproar among those present, whispered discussions echoed throughout the scene.

Strangely, Xiao Tian noticed that everyone seemed more concerned about the future water usage rather than Akita’s safety, appearing indifferent.

It seemed that for everyone, Akita’s fate was insignificant.

Yet when the man mentioned that Akita jumped into the well, Fujiwara Daisuke and some of the village elders all altered their expressions, as if greatly shocked.

As time ticked by, Daisuke remained silent for a while before letting out a cold snort, walking to the courtyard entrance, then suddenly stopping to say to Xiao Tian, ”Will you three accompany me?”

Confirming that Daisuke had given up resistance, Xiao Tian retracted the True Qi within him, smiling broadly, ”Gladly accompany you!”

After speaking, under the watchful eyes around him, he followed Daisuke’s steps out of the courtyard.

...

With Xiao Tian and Fujiwara Daisuke leading the group, they marched to the village’s center, soon seeing two figures busy by the well from a distance.

Though it was the golden autumn season, those two looked as if under the scorching summer sun, their clothes soaked with sweat, clinging to their backs, sweat covering their foreheads and faces, seeming quite tense.

When they got closer, before Daisuke could ask, the two hurriedly wiped the sweat off their faces, bowing and saying with heads bowed, ”Lord Fujiwara, sorry, we failed to complete your task. Please punish us!”

Daisuke’s expression didn’t soften at all, he said indifferently, ”You know I don’t want apologies or requests for punishment.”

Sweat poured from their foreheads clearly visible, the freshly wiped faces again covered with beads of sweat. After exchanging glances, the guy with a crooked mouth bit his lip and stepped forward.

”Soon after you left, we thought of tying up Fujiwara Akita to prevent further trouble,” Crooked Mouth reluctantly said, ”but when we turned to find rope, we heard a splash.”

At this point, maybe feeling too unfair, the other man stepped up to add, ”At that moment, all three of us were terrified. We quickly turned to investigate, finding Akita had already vanished.”

After a pause, seeing Daisuke still dissatisfied, Crooked Mouth continued, ”We rushed to the well, seeing Akita flailing, asking us to save him. We dispatched one to report to you, and another to fetch more rope.”

Hearing this, Daisuke finally asked, ”What about you? While guarding the well, did Akita display any odd behaviors?”

Though asking, Xiao Tian noticed Daisuke seemed unexpectedly anxious, as if Crooked Mouth’s answer was very important to him.

After careful consideration, Crooked Mouth earnestly replied, ”No, Akita was panicked, the well’s walls smooth and slippery, no foothold, before rope arrived, he already...”
