God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Chapter 560: Chapter 557: Issuing a Challenge

”Young Master Zhong, how do you think we should improve the overall level of the team?” Zong Jian asked somewhat puzzledly.

”If I were the instructor, first, I would assess the team’s overall situation and set an average benchmark as part of their daily training.”

Xiao Tian said, ”This way, those who are less skilled may find it a bit difficult but can complete it with effort, and those who are moderate will also find it challenging, though manageable.”

The crowd nodded; this made sense indeed!

”However, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of some exceptionally skilled members completing the routine training effortlessly.” Xiao Tian chuckled, ”At that point, the instructor should step in.”

Seeing everyone’s confusion, Xiao Tian explained, ”As people within the system, you should know that if a leader wants to pick faults in a subordinate, it’s as easy as eating or drinking.”

”I believe everyone has profound experience in this, right?!”

The crowd, hearing such a universally relatable statement, nodded like chickens pecking rice—it was indeed true!

The others present finally fully understood Xiao Tian’s point. While truly impressed, they couldn’t help but wonder why such an obvious principle went unrecognized by the special forces instructor?

Zong Jian evidently shared this concern, asking, ”In Young Master Zhong’s opinion, the current training plan of the special forces...”

”Isn’t worth a damn!” Xiao Tian interrupted before Zong Jian could finish, giving a conclusion hard for anyone to stomach.

This wasn’t about Xiao Tian being blindly arrogant and disrespectful; it was because he had hit upon his area of expertise and instantly assessed the level of that iron-fisted instructor.

As soon as the words were out, a cold voice echoed in the training ground, ”Everyone stop what you’re doing. Gather in front of me within one minute!”

Xiao Tian and the crowd looked over to see a middle-aged man with a pencil mustache and a mole on his chin.

The man was extremely thin, even slimmer than Chang Wenjie before, making one wonder if a gust of wind might blow him away.

”Oh, this is the special forces instructor, Zhou Huchen.” Zong Jian introduced the parties: ”And these are colleagues from the Shanghai City Bureau...”

”Just a mere city bureau, what experience could you possibly have seen?!” Zhou Huchen interrupted rudely, ”And you dare to criticize my training methods?”

At these words, the faces of Yu Ningxue and Yang Qiang immediately turned cold.

This instructor, who looked like a drug user, offended everyone with just a few words.

Zhou Huchen ignored Zong Jian’s awkwardness and the crowd’s darkened faces, looked at his stopwatch, and after a few seconds, pressed it down, shouting, ”Time’s up! Anyone who hasn’t gathered on time, prepare for a thousand push-ups!”

Yang Qiang and others were startled, not even considering if a minute was enough for hundreds to line up; just the thought of a thousand push-ups was frightening!

At this moment, in front of him stood less than thirty people, not even a third of the total number—a stark and terrifying disparity!

”You just said my training methods are worth nothing, right?” Zhou Huchen said to Xiao Tian with a mocking tone, his sharp voice and odd intonation making everyone uncomfortable.

”That was just before.”

Zhou Huchen seeing Xiao Tian respond thus, thought the latter was merely judging out of ignorance earlier and sneered. Before he could speak, Xiao Tian’s voice came again.

”Now that I’ve seen you in person, I’ve changed my mind!” Xiao Tian said calmly, ”Earlier I thought your training methods were worth nothing. Now I can only tell you, your methods indeed aren’t worth a damn!”

Seeing Zhou Huchen’s mustache trembling with anger, the twenty-some people in front of him also wore cold expressions.

Xiao Tian was somewhat puzzled, ”Previously, your training methods were worth nothing; now they’ve reached ’not worth a damn.’ Clearly, the evaluation has improved! Why do you still seem unhappy?!”

”What authority do you, a hick from a city bureau, have to criticize my training?” Zhou Huchen gritted his teeth, ”As a police officer, do you not even grasp the basic concept of hierarchy?”

Zong Jian mused that this so-called hick from a city bureau, in terms of ranking, was almost on par with a department head, perhaps even slightly higher.

Talking about hierarchy with such a person, isn’t that preposterous?!

However, Xiao Tian remained silent, making Zong Jian hesitant to reveal his identity easily, only able to stand aside quietly watching the show.

”Then, what would make someone qualified to criticize your training?”

Xiao Tian sighed, ”I really admire you all; it’s amazing none of you have ended up disabled with such training—a true miracle of life!”

”Report, Instructor!” Before Zhou Huchen could reply, someone couldn’t help standing forward, saying, ”May I have a word with that comrade?”

”Speak!”

Normally, upon hearing such an absurd request, Zhou Huchen would think his training intensity wasn’t enough and prepare an unforgettable ’luxurious meal’ that would penetrate to the bone for the person.

Moreover, Zhou Huchen could guarantee that after this, the questioner would never dare to make any request again, regardless of its reasonableness!

However, now being disrespected by a junior police officer, he felt it beneath him to argue personally. Someone stepping forward to speak on his behalf was gladly welcomed.

”Comrade, hello, first I’d like to tell you that how the instructor trains us is our internal matter, and it’s not your place to interfere.” The special forces soldier who stepped forward said powerfully, ”Secondly, being able to join our special forces is a dream for many people, and even if it means breaking limbs or being disabled, we all feel immensely honored!”

Xiao Tian wasn’t angered by the blunt words. Instead, he found them amusing and pitiful, feeling it unnecessary or beneath him to argue with such a willingness to be manipulated.

How others choose to live is their business, just as what he says is his own matter.

”If you’re feeling unconvinced, how about a spar?” Zhou Huchen, seeing Xiao Tian not responding, thought he was speechless from his team member’s remarks, thus pursued the challenge.

Seeing Xiao Tian eye him strangely, he continued, ”Of course, the sparring wouldn’t be between you and me.”

”You’re questioning my training methods, right? If you dare question, you must be confident yours are superior. Why not choose someone from your group to have a friendly match with my side, to let our actions speak for us!”

Xiao Tian smiled, turning his gaze to Yang Qiang, only to see the latter looking at him with some trepidation, evidently lacking confidence in facing the challenge!
