Chapter 440: Chapter 437: Lu Kai’s Rage

Lu Kai spat and hit Ren Wenshan in the face, asking, ”Where is everyone? Why hasn’t anyone come into the dressing room?”

Ren Wenshan, humiliated, felt the muscles in his bootlicking face tremble, yet didn’t dare change his expression. He explained, ”Maybe it’s not time yet!”

”Not time?” Lu Kai laughed coldly and said, ”The performance starts at 9:20, and it’s already 8:50. You’re telling me it’s not time?”

Ren Wenshan glanced at the expensive watch on his wrist, puzzlingly switched off the dressing room monitor, and checked the other backstage surveillance cameras.

What he saw made his jaw drop in shock, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth.

Lu Kai, seeing Ren Wenshan’s gaping mouth, disgustingly cleared his throat and spat a thick phlegm directly into it with precise accuracy.

Ren Wenshan, startled by the phlegm entering his mouth, instinctively closed it, swallowing it completely. He clutched his throat, coughing violently until tears and snot ran down his face.

”Turn your face away from me! I don’t want to see you!” Lu Kai pointed at Ren Wenshan’s nose and said, ”And explain to me what’s going on here?”

Ren Wenshan obediently knelt on the ground and turned around, saying, ”Young Master Lu, you, you’d better see for yourself!”

Lu Kai forcefully turned the computer towards himself and looked at the screen showing the backstage cluttered with small, cabinet-like tents. His face filled with an angry humiliation, and he threw the computer to the ground.

”You clever little minx! You really played your cards beautifully!”

——

Le Yaoyao had no idea that her cautiousness had saved so many beautiful models from the company, as well as herself.

With ten minutes to go before the show started, a large crowd had already gathered around the stage.

Le Yaoyao sneakily peeked out, seeing the sea of people before her eyes sparkled, and she called her female assistant over for a whispered conversation, making even the marketing-savvy assistant give her a thumbs-up!

Le Yaoyao’s idea was simple: to quickly gain some fame for the company, word of mouth was far more effective than any billboard ads. So she instructed her assistant to hire some plants.

These weren’t plants to just shout praises. Usually, these plants just needed to say a few lines:

”Hey, these beauties are pretty good. Are they from some local company?”

”Well, you might not know, but these beauties are from a top-tier company called ’Xiao Yao’ in Shanghai!”

”Bro, where did these beauties come from?”

Ten minutes quickly passed, and the performance officially began.

First to take the stage were Le Yaoyao and Keke, the stunning sister duo whose appearance instantly ignited the audience’s passion, setting a great stage for those who followed!

Especially Le Yaoyao, compared to Keke, she had a petite charm that made people feel protective.

As Le Yaoyao and Keke were about to leave the stage hand in hand, the audience passionately shouted ’Don’t go, do another one!’, which made the waiting models backstage envious.

But with years of stage experience, both knew that if they really listened to the audience and stayed, the event would be a total failure!

The consequence would be that the two would have to carry a three-hour show from start to finish, preventing any of the backstage models from coming on, and they wouldn’t be able to leave the stage.

Thus, completely ignoring the enthusiastic audience, they gracefully and stylishly left the stage.

Once backstage, Keke took out her phone to kill time while waiting to remove her makeup.

As Le Yaoyao and Keke left the stage, the atmosphere at the venue gradually calmed down.

At this point, the plants hired by the female assistant began to execute their routine endorsements as planned.

”Yaoyao, I never thought you had such a knack for business!” Keke praised Le Yaoyao upon learning she had hired the plants. ”With this, we’ll have a continuous stream of events in the future!”

Le Yaoyao sighed and said, ”It’s not that simple. The plants are just to leave a lasting impression on the audience, but sponsorship is a different story.”

”Isn’t this just a waste then?” Keke asked, somewhat puzzled. ”All that effort and no benefit, what’s in it for us?”

Le Yaoyao cast Keke a side-eye, her face showing a disdainful gaze toward her, saying, ”Spend less time on your phone and read more, okay?”

Ever since Le Yaoyao started her own company, she began reading books on economics. Despite her lack of interest, she forced herself to read, think, understand, and put it into practice.

After persisting for some time, she found that she could apply what she learned effortlessly, and it felt natural without any deliberate intention.

Keke, hearing Le Yaoyao, who she usually lectured, now lecturing her back, felt defiant and asked, ”So, what have you learned?”

”You just asked what we gain from this, right?” Le Yaoyao picked up where Keke’s question left off, ready to teach her best friend a lesson!

Keke nodded, ”Yeah!”

”Now think of our company as a star,” Le Yaoyao began her serious lecture: ”Sponsors fight over stars because they have enough fame, which becomes their survival capital.”

”Think about it. If you were a sponsor, would you prefer to hire a little-known acrobat or a widely beloved and dazzling star?”

Taking a sip of her coffee, Le Yaoyao continued, ”And imagine if our company had a strong reputation; under the same conditions, who do you think sponsors would choose?”

Keke blurted out, ”They’d definitely choose us!”

”Exactly!” Le Yaoyao, seeing Keke put down her phone, highlighted the key point: ”In essence, any event is about publicity, and in this respect, having fame and being completely unknown are two entirely different concepts, and the promotional effect will be different!”

Le Yaoyao added, ”Of course, the price will definitely vary!”

At this moment, Keke was deeply impressed by Le Yaoyao’s words and clapped her hands, saying, ”Yaoyao, how come I never noticed you were this smart before?”

Le Yaoyao proudly replied, ”Hm! I just didn’t want to show it before!”

Keke continued to flatter her, ”Yaoyao, with your brain and eloquence, starting a company is a great loss to the pyramid selling industry!”

”That’s self...” Le Yaoyao was about to accept Keke’s compliment but suddenly realized something was off: ”Are you complimenting me?”

”Of course I am!” Keke said sincerely, ”But Yaoyao, can you let me see your hand?”
