Chapter 434: Chapter 431: Return to the Sect

The Black Daoist retorted with a face full of grievance: ”Didn’t you also participate? Why blame only me?”

”What’s the use of saying these things now?” The young Daoist, feeling that continuing the argument on this issue was futile, said: ”Let’s think about what we’re going to do next!”

Hearing the familiar voice, Saintly Virtue Daoist quickly covered his face with his wide sleeves, fearing that the two might recognize him.

However, his attire was so unusual that it was impossible not to attract attention. Soon enough, he heard a male voice from ahead: ”Master, can you give me a fortune reading?”

The two disciples of Saintly Virtue Daoist heard the man’s voice and turned their gaze towards him.

”Why don’t we also get a fortune reading?” suggested the Black Daoist.

The young Daoist agreed: ”Sure!”

A tear slid down the old face of Saintly Virtue Daoist hidden behind his sleeve. What kind of cursed fate is this? Why do these two idiots always end up wherever I am?

In his lamentation, he heard the Black Daoist ask: ”Master, how can we become rich overnight?”

Saintly Virtue Daoist wished he could spit right in his face; with the two of them, how could they possibly get rich overnight?

He secretly took a pill to change his voice and said angrily: ”Rob a bank!”

”Rob, rob a bank?” The Black Daoist stammered, repeating it with bright eyes: ”Yeah! Why didn’t we think of this earlier?”

He immediately took out a hundred yuan bill and placed it in Saintly Virtue Daoist’s wide sleeve, repeatedly thanking him: ”Thank you, Master, for the guidance!”

And then he turned and left.

The man who had sought the fortune reading earlier was stunned, thinking: Are they taking me for a fool? If they were going to hire an accomplice, they could have been less obvious!

The man snorted coldly, with a look that said he wouldn’t be fooled, and turned to leave.

Saintly Virtue Daoist secretly breathed a sigh of relief; at least he hadn’t been recognized by the two fools!

Landing safely from the dock in Lu Province, Saintly Virtue Daoist took a deep breath of fresh air: ”It’s good to be home!”

As soon as he spoke, handcuffs appeared on his hands, and soon two policemen on either side forcibly dragged him onto a police car!

——

The LCD TV hanging on the wall was broadcasting today’s news.

”Today in Shanghai City, two young men attempted to rob a bank. Upon receiving reports from the public, the Shanghai authorities took the matter very seriously and immediately dispatched a team of elite police to the scene!”

The screen changed to Bai Tao’s imposing face as he righteously said: ”Cracking down on evil forces and safeguarding the safety of people’s lives and property is the duty of every police officer!”

The screen switched again and the female host said: ”We also conducted interviews regarding the suspects involved in this incident.”

The Black Daoist and the young Daoist, dressed in orange vests, appeared, looking dejected as they said: ”We were on a boat looking for a master to read our fortune. He just told us to rob a bank, and I even gave him a hundred yuan...”

Saintly Virtue Daoist, severely injured and with only a fraction of his martial skill remaining, received the same treatment: his long hair was shaved off, leaving him with a bald head.

”Oh my god!”

The young disciples of the Dao Yi Sect, gathered around the TV to watch, gasped in shock.

Previously during the interview with the Black Daoist and the young Daoist, the sound had been processed and their faces covered with mosaics, so they hadn’t been recognized.

At this moment, seeing the full picture on the screen, a bald figure in an orange vest, with handcuffs — it was...

”Saintly Virtue Master?”

The young Daoists watching the TV exploded into chaos, creating an uproar.

Just then, a man with an air of righteousness, long hair flowing and holding a duster, walked in, seeing his disciples in chaos and immediately erupted: ”Quiet down, what is this endless noise about?”

The young disciple quickly pointed at the TV screen, saying: ”Master, Saintly Virtue Master is on TV!”

The man turned his gaze to the TV, catching Saintly Virtue Daoist’s teary face narrating the events.

He was about to scold the young disciple for talking nonsense, as Saintly Virtue Daoist wasn’t styled as a bald man, but upon hearing the familiar voice, he looked closely and was stunned!

Is this actually Saintly Virtue Daoist?!

After hearing Saintly Virtue Daoist’s confession, the man looked at his disciples with a hint of fear. If these kids were to pull such a stunt on him...

”Everyone go practice martial arts, no more watching TV!”

Leaving those words behind, the man rushed off to inform the sect leader!

”Brother!” The man hurriedly entered the grand hall where the Sect Leader, Daoist Guanghuai, was, saying: ”A big issue has arisen!”

The grand hall was impressive, with a tripod censer standing tall in the center, and Daoist Guanghuai’s voice came calmly from the side: ”Brother, slowly tell what big issue it is?”

Although Daoist Guanghuai appeared to be only about forty years old, his actual age had long surpassed eighty, making him naturally calm and composed.

The man said anxiously: ”Saintly Virtue Master, he—he is on TV!”

Daoist Guanghuai nodded with a relaxed demeanor: ”I know!”

”You know?” The man was shocked; he had just seen the live broadcast, and there was no TV in the grand hall. How could the sect leader know?

Just as he was perplexed, Daoist Guanghuai spoke: ”Previously, Shanghai University invited us to participate in their celebration. I sent Saintly Virtue Master half a month ahead. So, how was it? How did he perform?”

”No, that’s not it!”

Hearing the sect leader’s ”I know” was completely unrelated to what he was saying, the man was so anxious that sweat broke out on his forehead, saying: ”It’s better if you see it for yourself?”

Seeing the man’s anxious state, Daoist Guanghuai asked: ”Did Saintly Virtue Master not perform well?”

The man knew he couldn’t explain clearly, so he grabbed Daoist Guanghuai and went to see Saintly Virtue Daoist’s ’confession.’

Seeing Saintly Virtue Daoist, bald, dressed in an orange vest, with handcuffs, crying with snot and tears, Daoist Guanghuai felt his face burning with embarrassment.

Thinking of being drowned in mockery at the next sect meeting, Daoist Guanghuai threw his duster in anger, punching a hole through the teary face of Saintly Virtue Daoist on the TV.

The damaged TV screen sparked and then went black, but the sound continued to be heard clearly.

”My greatest regret in life is taking those two fools, these years...”

Listening to Saintly Virtue Daoist’s choked voice, Daoist Guanghuai’s face turned pale.

”Brother!” The man cautiously asked on the side: ”What do you think now?”
