Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Four to five hundred newly recruited guards, all stared intently at Wang Yu and Lu Li.

They were eager to know what kind of Immortal Technique Lu Li had just ”empowered” Wang Yu with, and how powerful it was.

Lu Li glanced at the guards, casually conjured up a Barrett, and tossed it to a robust young man in the front, ”Zhang Zirui, shoot at Instructor Wang.”

The young man called Zhang Zirui was taken aback, ”Huh? It’s a Barrett, with a caliber of 12.7 millimeters, said to be a destroyer of any carbon-based lifeform on earth. Are you really asking me to fire it at Instructor Wang?”

The other newly recruited guards looked at each other, afraid of causing any fatalities.

Lu Li chuckled silently, ”With me here, what do you think could happen to Instructor Wang?”

”Exactly.”

”With Mr. Lu here, what are you scared of?”

The group of young people came to realize.

Zhang Zirui thought the same, and immediately said, ”Alright, Mr. Lu, I’ll shoot at Instructor Wang now.”

The crowd quickly dispersed.

Zhang Zirui set up the Barrett on the ground, then lay down to adjust the scope.

Wang Yu, who had been confidently trying various Immortal Techniques, was now a bit scared seeing Lu Li have someone shoot a Barrett at him.

He timidly said, ”Mr. Lu, isn’t the Barrett’s power a bit too much? I... I’m afraid I might not be able to withstand it!”

Lu Li blinked and said, ”Old Wang, we’ve known each other for so many years, do you think I would joke about your life safety?”

He had just analyzed and realized that after learning the ”Great Celestial Immortal Technique,” Wang Yu was already capable of withstanding a nuclear explosion, let alone a mere Barrett.

He did this entirely to make the newly recruited four to five hundred guards more loyal to him.

As long as they were loyal enough, they could have the ability to withstand a Barrett, or even stronger powers.

As the saying goes, treasures move people’s hearts, and this ability is more precious than treasures, he didn’t believe they wouldn’t be moved.

Wang Yu thought for a moment, then laughed and said, ”True, I was overthinking.”

Lu Li nodded, ”Don’t worry, the things I let you learn, if described in words, it’s like I’ve made you become an Immortal on the spot; you’re already an Immortal, so why fear a Barrett?”

Wang Yu, knowing about the three-thousand-year-old peach, immediately nodded, ”Sure, I’m not worried anymore.”

He knew about this matter, but the four to five hundred newly recruited guards did not know about the peach.

For a moment, those people were all a bit puzzled, thinking to themselves, besides Mr. Lu, is there anyone else in this world who can become an Immortal?

While the two were speaking, Zhang Zirui had already set up the Barrett, ”Mr. Lu, Instructor Wang, I’m ready.”

”Stand here and don’t move, let him shoot.”

Lu Li said to Wang Yu, then added, ”Alright, you can shoot now.”

Zhang Zirui acknowledged, aimed through the scope, and his finger hooked the trigger.

The crowd, who had been whispering among themselves, suddenly held their breaths, falling completely silent.

The next moment, with a bang, a large bullet shot out of the barrel, rushing fiercely toward Wang Yu.

Because the initial speed of the Barrett bullet is as high as 853 meters per second, it was already supersonic.

So at first, everyone only heard the gunshot and saw a sudden flash of fire on Wang Yu’s forehead, before they heard the sonic boom.

No one saw clearly, they were all shocked by the loud sonic boom, causing their ears to ring, and for a moment, they all covered their ears, realizing they couldn’t hear anything.

Nonetheless, they immediately realized the flash of fire collided with Wang Yu’s forehead and then fell to the ground.

The crowd strained to look and saw that the copper bullet seemed to have been compressed by gravity into a copper disc!

Seeing this, the pupils of the four to five hundred guards enlarged suddenly, and they all gasped, seemingly unable to believe what they were witnessing!

This is a Barrett!

Caliber 12.7 millimeters!

Said to be unstoppable by any carbon-based lifeform on earth, even if an elephant were hit, it would fall dead instantly.

Yet Wang Yu took a shot and not only was unharmed but even deflected the bullet into a copper disc?

They were dumbfounded!

All four to five hundred guards were stunned!

Each of them looked dumbly at the copper disc on the ground and then at Wang Yu’s forehead, unmarred by the bullet, truly not daring to believe to the extreme!

Silence.

Everyone was utterly silent.

Some even couldn’t believe it, continuously rubbing their eyes, seemingly suspecting they saw it wrong.

Lu Li didn’t care how shocked the crowd was, instead using energy to heal their eardrums injured by the sonic boom.

He noticed a curious phenomenon when Wang Yu deflected the bullet.

That was, when the opponent consumed energy, it seemed to draw from his own energy.

Of course, deflecting the bullet used very little energy.

If Lu Li’s perceptive ability wasn’t exceptionally sharp, he wouldn’t have noticed it at all.

He found it quite intriguing.

Why would Wang Yu, as an independent entity, use his energy when consuming energy?

Lu Li pondered for a moment and realized it was because of ”Only My Unique Method.”

The items were ”stolen” from the Fantasy World and then conjured with energy, which meant he became the ”Master of Illusions” for Wang Yu, so naturally, the energy consumption was counted under him.

This correlated with his ability to voluntarily reclaim the other’s powers.

Since he could voluntarily reclaim powers, it naturally meant the opponent’s active energy consumption was also counted under his name.
