Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

The atmosphere in the main hall shifted from relaxed and cheerful to tense.

George, the Great Emperor, Lady Sanna, and others all stared intently at Balabamo, eager to see if he would agree.

In fact, they believed there was little chance of Balabamo agreeing, or rather, no hope at all. After all, it’s forty-five thousand star systems’ worth of resources; who would want to cede that?

The leaders of the Black Stone Race, Purple Potato Titan Race, and Silver Wisdom Tree Race all frowned as they looked at Lu Li’s face, as if questioning how he could ask for so much.

Not only were the Earth and alien big shots around the conference table tense.

The reporters from Earth and the aliens also became very nervous.

The Earth reporters naturally hoped that the Interstellar Alliance would agree to Lu Li’s demands.

It doesn’t matter if Earth civilization can handle it or not; resources are always resources.

Just because I can’t handle it today doesn’t mean I can’t handle it in the future.

The difference between having and not having is something anyone can understand.

Alien reporters, on the other hand, hoped that Balabamo wouldn’t agree.

Because if he didn’t, their races would have a chance to share these more than forty thousand star systems.

Under everyone’s gaze, Balabamo slowly spoke.

He neither agreed nor outright refused, but instead asked, ”Respected Mr. Lu, before you take over the 45,636 star systems originally controlled by the Original Spiritual Race, may I ask you two questions?”

Lu Li extended his hand and said, ”Please, go ahead.”

Balabamo asked directly, ”First, as far as I know, Earth civilization currently has only eight billion people. To control one star system, you need to station at least ten million people, 45,636 systems require 456.36 billion people. Do you have that many people?”

The leaders of the Black Stone Race, Purple Potato Titan Race, and Silver Wisdom Tree Race all nodded in agreement, thinking that Balabamo had asked a good question.

If you don’t have the capacity to control them, why should you take on so many star systems?

Uncle Long, George, and the Great Emperor all smiled wryly.

They knew well that although Balabamo’s question was sharp, it was a very practical one.

Earth’s current population is far from sufficient to control 45,636 star systems.

Lu Li didn’t answer immediately but instead asked, ”And the second question?”

Balabamo thought Lu Li couldn’t answer right away and was stalling for time to think of a response.

He said indifferently, ”Alright, the second question is, the Spiritual Race has developed for many years in each of their colonial star systems, with some systems having more than ten billion people and others at least one or two billion. These star systems are spread across a very vast Star Realm. Does Earth’s civilization have the capability to eradicate all Spiritual Race people and claim these star systems?”

He paused for a moment and then continued, ”I can tell you the original plan of the Interstellar Alliance. Our 107 Steward Planets’ Star Lords discussed it and decided that since the Spiritual Race used to be one of our Steward Planets, although now replaced by Earth’s civilization, the remaining members of their race could either continue the war with Earth’s civilization and face total annihilation or be constrained by us and continue to develop. So, until Earth’s civilization has eliminated the Spiritual Race’s people, I think taking over these star systems is very inappropriate.”

These words were actually a facade.

As the saying goes, ’Wealth moves people’s hearts’; with the core ruling class of the Spiritual Race exterminated by Lu Li, the remaining ones, though still strong, are leaderless and wandering. If they hand over the star systems’ resources obediently, they might even receive the Alliance’s protection and make the best of a bad situation. If they don’t cooperate, even if the Alliance’s Steward Planets can’t act openly, incidents akin to the alien version of ’Prince of Ming falls into water’ are likely to happen.

Indeed, all these Steward Planets intend to annex the star systems originally controlled by the Spiritual Race and haven’t thought about sharing much with Earth at all.

Additionally, Balabamo, as the highest leader of the Orion Arm, reasons with Lu Li only because the man across the table possesses the power of ”True God” to blow up entire star systems with a single entity.

If it were anyone else making such a big demand, Balabamo would probably have slapped them to death long ago. Why bother with strategic maneuvers?

The Alliance’s Super Cosmic Battleship also possesses the ability to destroy star systems, but the difference between a battleship and a single entity is too significant.

One can be detected by advanced technological instruments, and preparation for weapon deployment is needed to destroy star systems.

The other can come and go without a trace, capable of blowing up a star system in a very short time, and everyone knows how terrifying Lu Li is.

Therefore, Balabamo must grant Lu Li absolute ”respect,” hence adopting such tactics.

Now that the questions have been asked, it’s time for Lu Li to provide an answer.

Everyone turned their gaze, eager to hear how Lu Li would respond.

Unperturbed, Lu Li smiled and said, ”Alright, let me first answer your first question, Mr. Balabamo.”

Hmm?

Can you really answer?

Balabamo was somewhat surprised.

Uncle Long, George, and the Great Emperor were also surprised.

The leaders of the Black Stone Race, Purple Potato Titan Race, and Silver Wisdom Tree Race were in the same situation.

Even the thousands of reporters from both Earth and aliens were very surprised, seemingly not believing that Lu Li could provide an answer to such a sharp question.

Balabamo extended his hand and said, ”Mr. Lu, please go ahead.”

The rest of the audience sat up straight, eager to hear how Lu Li would respond.
