Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3138 An Upper Realmʼs Geniusʼs Despair

Davis stared at Aric Stormsong, his expression almost turning livid as he didnʼt expect this kind of behavior from an Empyreal Monarch. From the words the latter spoke, he seemed to have some smarts but, in the end, resorted to calling his grandfather and ancestors to intimidate him.

He became disappointed beyond compare, knowing this person in front of him was a spoiled brat who probably never faced defeat and hid behind the number second in his family, inwardly telling himself that he still had the ability to grow as long as he could gain resources without any willpower or determination behind it.

Fury swelled in Davisʼs mind like a lightning bolt traversing his spine to his brain, causing him to raise his leg.

*Bang~*

The sound of bones cracking echoed as Davisʼs shoe landed on Aric Stormsongʼs face squarely, causing his eyes to roll back as he fell behind, appearing as though he was about to plunge, but his consciousness quickly returned back to him as though it never left, causing him to quickly sit up.

His golden eyes flickered with white lightning, and his expression grew furious. However, he was suddenly grabbed by the hair, a deathly threat looming over his soul, which caused his expression to freeze.

”Do you think an Anarchic Divergent like me cares about being hunted down by your people when it is already set in stone that they would not rest until an evil being like me is dead?”

Davis coldly spoke, his face a few inches away from Aric Stormsong as he stared with wide, unamused eyes.

Aric Stormsongʼs gaze shook in response, his chin even lowering as though wanting to help himself avoid Davisʼs intimidating gaze. His thoughts thrummed, wanting to get out of this situation somehow as he knew he had picked an adversary that was above his cultivation.

Davis didnʼt say another word as he waited for Aric Stormsongʼs response.

He knew this idiotʼs family would be hunting Divergents and Fiends as they were speculatively famous for it. At least, from the little information the Crimson Pathflame Lower Realmʼs geniuses knew, this was what he could infer. Adding onto how Aric Stormsong was forthright or even audacious in wanting to kill him, Davis knew this was a family that took pride in killing Divergents and Fiends.

Therefore, it made sense that Aric Stormsong would try to kill him without giving him any chance to explain himself whatsoever.

In truth, he imagined the entire true immortal world to be that case since even a Saintess like Myria was hunted down as she became a Fiend.

Perhaps the true immortal world was completely hostile to him, and he had prepared himself to face this kind of backlash for the past few days.

Davis blinked and suddenly raised his head.

He was just thinking of her, and she finally showed up.

It was none other than Myria.

He sensed Myria emerging from the distance with Bing Luli behind her. Perhaps, in this short time they went out, they had already obtained a treasure. He didnʼt know but watched her close the distance before finally appearing behind Aric Stormsong.

She narrowed her brows, her eyes flashing with hostile intent as she looked at Aric Stormsong- no, the emblem behind his clothes.

Davis noticed this, causing him to send a soul transmission to her.

”Donʼt tell me the Thundering Serenity Upper Realm hunted you down back then?”

Myriaʼs gaze fell on him, watching him for two seconds before she looked towards the Stormsong Familyʼs youths, who were cornered by Nadia and Lea while they were also heavily suppressed by his undulations.

The Stormsong Familyʼs youths couldnʼt make it to the battleship.

”All the Upper Realms had a part in it, but the Thundering Serenity Upper Realm was a greater threat. They were persistent in hunting me down, especially their Patriarch. I wouldʼve already succumbed to their hunt if I didnʼt constantly run and hide myself in Lower Realms and Minor Realms.”

”…”

Davisʼs brows heavily furrowed.

Hearing this matter, he cast a look at Aric Stormsong, fury swelling in his heart.

Although this matter shouldʼve happened millions of years ago, the feeling he got when Myria shared this matter with him was like she was expecting him to console her as her voice slightly held some emotion behind it.

*Bang!~*

His right foot that had gone down flickered and began stomping Aric Stormsongʼs face, showering him with a flurry of kicks that broke his face, shoulders, and ribs before he could even scream out loud. White lightning soared out of Aric Stormsongʼs body in retaliation. It wrapped around Davisʼs right leg, intending to pulverize him, but it wasnʼt able to do anything at all.

*Bang!~* *Bang!~* *Bang!~*

ʼWhat kind of monstrous body does he have…?ʼ

ʼDoes my lightning have no effect on him…?ʼ

ʼHow come there is such a person…? He couldnʼt be more powerful than my elder brother, could he…?ʼ

Aric Stormsongʼs eyes rolled back while his head danced around to the tune that played on him by a flurry of kicks. Blood spurted out of his eyes, nose, and mouth, bones cracking, tears shedding from the pain. He could sense each kick was imbued with death energy, causing his defenses to shatter as they tried to encroach toward his soul.

”…!”

Suddenly feeling the threat of death, he pounced.

”No… Stop!! Please wait..!”

Aric Stormsong grabbed Davisʼs leg, his face full of bloody snot and tears as he pleaded. He cried, appearing to be a sorry mess as he pleaded for mercy.

Davis stopped kicking Aric Stormsong, but his expression flickered as disgust swelled in his heart, overcoming his fury.

Did this person have no shame?

But on second thought, he imagined that this person must be wondering what he did to deserve this barrage of attacks from him instead of just dying or trying to negotiate a deal with him so that he doesnʼt offend the entire Thundering Serenity Upper Realm.

Nonetheless, with Aric Stormsong holding onto his leg life his depended on it, Davis appeared like he was quenched.

Aric Stormsong could feel the stiffness in Davisʼs leg disappear, which meant he was not going to beat him. This put a miserable smile on his face as he almost had the urge to thank an Anarchic Divergent from the bottom of his heart.

”…”

But suddenly, he felt like he was lifted above.

No, he was indeed being raised above along with Davisʼs leg.

”You-”

*Bang!~*

Davis swung his right leg as earth manifested from his left leg, creating a foothold, but Aric Stormsong smashed into its face first, causing him to let go of Davis as he plunged to the surface.

It seemed like he was unconscious, causing Davisʼs soul force to wrap around his leg and pull him back like a squeezed cloth, his entire body restricted.

”…!”

The Stormsong Familyʼs Kingly Monarchsʼ expressions were not good. They were livid, scared, and didnʼt know how to respond, nor if they should escape from this Anarchic Divergent who seemed as strong as the Azure Dragon Upper Realmʼs Empyreal Monarch, perhaps even stronger.

If anything, they would like to run to their battleship as it might help them escape, but they were cornered by two Empresses.

By the time Aric Stormsong was brought up, Davis had robbed him of his spatial ring and life ring and even plundered his karmic virtue. His karmic nature was almost at the peak of the second tier, thirty-two meters tall. This made him imagine that this fool must have quite the haul killing Divergents as he couldnʼt see him helping and saving billions of lives.

While Davis plundered the glorious loot, Aric Stormsong finally woke up.

However, he seemed quite weak even though he had plenty of energy remaining, all because his soul was suppressed and his meridians clogged with death energy. At this rate, he wouldnʼt even survive half an hour.

His golden eyes also flickered with despair as he seemed to know of this situation.

”Are you willing to undo your binding, or are you going to hasten your death as I forcefully sever it?”

Davis asked, causing Aric Stormsong to tremble before he hurriedly unbound his spatial ring and life ring.

”Good.”

Davis felt the resistance fade and appeared pleased, but he didnʼt check anything.

”Please… spare me…”

Aric Stormsongʼs lips quivered.

It was unknown what kind of shame he was experiencing, but he pleaded for his life regardless. His teammates also appeared like they didnʼt expect this of him, especially the women.

Davis stared at him, wondering what to do. He first wanted to soulscour, but the other party was an Empyreal Monarch, so he was wondering if there would be any seal or even seal that unleashes a backlash upon soulscour.

Squinting his eyes, he moved his hand and touched Aric Stormsongʼs forehead, causing the latter to freeze.

However, Aric Stormsong was confused as he saw Davis do nothing and take his hand back.

On the other hand, Davis inwardly sighed.

ʼSeems like Empyreal Monarchs know many secrets…ʼ

He decided to soulscour him but instead felt a sense of danger encroach him. Clearly, someone had placed some kind of protective seal on his memories, and he didnʼt know how high-level this seal was. Moreover, Aric Stormsongʼs expression was like he didnʼt even know that the seal was in his soul.

”Dear, what shall we do with them?”

At this moment, Leaʼs voice resounded, causing Davis to turn to look at her.

”Release the so-called captives. After that, you may all leave. However, Iʼm keeping your leader with me.”

Davis coldly spoke to them.

He knew that these so-called captives must be the people from the First Haven World who had probably blabbered everything about him to them or got soulscoured. Either way, he wanted to see which group got caught. If it was the Fire Phoenix Clan or the Cyan Soul Rat Clan, he felt like he could slaughter them all here.

”Yes, Emperor of Death...”

The calm woman, who was actually tense right now, responded and moved towards the battleship.

”You can try something funny, but in that case, your fellow disciples will all die.”

Davisʼs warning resounded, and the woman stopped for a moment as though reconsidering before moving towards the battleship.

Soon enough, the battleshipʼs side opened to reveal a passageway from which many people stepped out.
