Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3130 Avatar Seared?

*Szzzz!~*

Sophieʼs avatar had just been watching Davis with a delightful expression, just like her true body. She had even taken her hand back to be on the safer side, but with Davis descending and creating a hole in the ceiling that rushed out with a gust of searing wind and magma a second later, the apocalyptic flames swayed more, causing her sleeves to catch fire.

Purplish-black flames bloomed, engulfing her entire hand in an instant.

However, that hand fell on the ground, burning amidst the dust.

Sophie appeared to have cut off her hand from the elbow decisively. Her expression twitched in pain, but there was no blood spurting out as this was still a soul body.

The Solitary Soul Avatar was not a fleshly body, after all. Her current flesh was basically constructed from soul force, which meant slashing or burning it would only cause it to disappear from the lack of energy.

Seeing this scene, Davis, who had crossed the distance halfway, also relaxed.

Fortunately, Sophieʼs avatar hadnʼt let the apocalyptic flames reach her soul. Otherwise, it would also affect her main soul, possibly becoming extinguished in an instant.

”Excellent decision, Sophie.”

Davis appeared beside Sophieʼs avatar and grabbed her waist as he brought her back to the tiny island her main body and Bylai were on. Once he landed, he quickly imbued life energy to reconstruct her hand. Her decisive action helped him regenerate her arm, or if it had gotten to the cells made up of soul force, it wouldʼve remained as trauma, unable to regenerate.

Although a Solitary Soul Avatar was just a soul body, it was still constructed in the shape of oneself, so it had the same rules as flesh when it comes to regeneration.

Sophieʼs own soul force wouldnʼt be able to regenerate or heal her Solitary Soul Avatar unless she ate some healing pills that healed souls.

Thatʼs why soul avatars were an expensive business, and cultivators would rather have fleshly avatars or none at all since it would be like splitting their own prowess senses. Even Davis had read many records from the Aurora Cloud Gate that avatars could be detrimental to future cultivation, but he didnʼt pay much attention to it nor change his womenʼs mind as there was a much need for it.

Without the Solitary Soul Avatar or other avatar, their growth rate might be cut in half or more.

”Cutting off my hand is an excellent decision?”

Sophie giggled, not appearing to be shaken at all.

”Canʼt say that it didnʼt hurt me, but itʼs better than losing you altogether.”

Davisʼs life soul force quickly regenerated Sophieʼs arm.

She waved her hand, appearing to test its feel before nodding her head when suddenly Davis grabbed her cheeks and locked gazes with her.

”What are you two doing here searching for treasures in the depths of this volcanic region where everything is about to collapse who knows when? Are you two crazy?”

Sophieʼs eyelids trembled as she saw him staring at her.

”I donʼt know. Ask her~”

”You-”

However, she quickly pointed to her main body, causing the real Sophie to gawk.

Although Sophie understood that her avatar and she were the same, they were two thinking individuals since they were detached right now. If their experiences differed too much in this state, the avatar might even rebel, but she was ultimately the source where she could overwrite the avatarʼs thoughts upon reconnecting.

Nonetheless, the chances of this happening were nigh impossible unless they stayed detached for hundreds of years and lived different lives. This mostly happened when the avatar was in a clean state and remembered nothing other than general information about the world.

Still, she couldnʼt believe that she had ratted out on herself, but when she saw Davis throw his gaze on her, she also felt like tossing the stick to Bylai.

”Darling, please listen…”

However, she stood her ground and explained what had occurred to Davis, causing him to sigh as he understood why they were collecting treasures near apocalyptic flames instead of searching for an exit.

ʼThe tunnel you two were in collapsed when the tyrannical aura of the heavens descended? Sounds about right…ʼ

Davis didnʼt doubt their words a single bit as he always had the suspicion that the heavens or fate, whatever it was, wouldnʼt allow him to take a breather when outside.

Fortunately, his Bylai and Sophie managed to hold onto their own in this searing atmosphere.

Even he found it hard to bear this heat.

He imagined if they remained here for three or four hours, then the heat would increase and finally cause them to die from being grilled alive, that is, if they were not engulfed by the apocalyptic flames or the sea of magma by then.

”The tunnel that collapsed when you were in it was closed up, so I had to find other pathways. I searched almost every tunnel and the pathways they led above, and I didnʼt want to break through any wall as I was afraid that it could implicate you two, so it took some time for me to finally get here.”

Davis explained himself as he raised his hands and touched Sophie and Bylaiʼs cheeks.

Their expressions melted as they pursed their lips and smiled, appearing moved.

”So youʼre saying that this resource could even be helpful to my chaotic-tempered body?”

Davis turned to look towards the burning Molten Goldcrust Core.

”Well,” Bylaiʼs lips curled wryly, ”Weʼre not sure, but considering these are half-refined by apocalyptic flames, they should amount to something highly valuable…”

”True. Or they could be poisonous, but weʼre willing to bet on the former in order to become stronger.”

Sophie shrugged, causing Davis to shoot her a side-eye.

His Sophie was becoming bolder day by day, and he loved it. He needed her to be competent just like Tina and Dalila, or he understood that they were all going to die in this realm concoction.

At the same time, he shot a look at Bylai as well, wondering what he hadnʼt seen her do in this situation. He was full of curiosity for the sides he didnʼt know about them, whether they be curvaceous or wicked.

”Alright, leave this to me.”

”Youʼre the best!~”

Sophie and Bylai both lunged at him and grabbed his arm, appearing delighted like little kids. They knew he could easily accomplish this matter. After all, his soul force was practically shielding them from the heat now, allowing them to conserve their energy.

They let him and stood back like proper ladies, waiting for him to make a move.

However, even after two whole minutes, he had yet to make a move, causing them to turn confused.

”Is there anything wrong?”

Sophie asked.

If he decided that it was better to return, she was going to follow it. Bylai had also decided the same since she knew they shouldʼve left when he had come here but stayed due to their request.

However, the words that came out of his mouth made her and Bylai stunned.

”No. Iʼm thinking of taking the entire thing, you know, along with these five strands of apocalyptic flames…”

”You!-”

They fumed, finally realizing that he did not joke when he meant that he wanted apocalyptic flames back then.

It made them wonder just who were the crazy ones.
