Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3136 Strike One

*Bzzz!~*

As the five of the Stormsong Family people closed in on their leader, Lea, and Nadia gave them a chase.

However, they slowed down, seeing that Davis didnʼt unleash a second strike at the Empyreal Monarch. The latter seemed livid but held something in his hand, which they likely recognized to be a defensive talisman.

However, how strong could be that defensive talisman?

There was no way it could be as strong as their man, considering he easily reached nine levels higher in prowess, effortlessly eclipsing an Empyreal Monarch, much less the limitation on a defensive talisman that would be allowed to be brought here.

However, the defensive talisman radiated a mountainous aura even to them, making them feel like this item was at the High-Level Emperor Grade.

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

The four of them appeared beside him. However, they werenʼt shielding him from Davis, but they stood behind him in their previously displayed wing formation. Their bodies crackled with white lightning, forming a fierce wave that made the air shudder ever so lightly.

Its silence gave an eerie spectacle as though the moment it was unleashed, no one would be able to see it.

”One strike, and you call your fellow disciples to help you. I must say that I didnʼt expect this from an Empyreal Monarch…”

Davisʼs lips curled as he spoke lazily, appearing to yawn as he raised his hand and breathed out heavily.

The Stormsong Family Empyreal Monarchʼs expression was somber. He raised his hand, waving it.

”You really think you can say that after you didnʼt continue to attack me because I held a talisman in my hand?”

”Youʼre going to brag about relying on a life-saving talisman?”

Davis blinked, causing him to harrumph.

”Life-saving or not, I found this through my own strength, so it is a part of my power.”

”You found it in this realm?”

”There are plenty of remnants left in this realm, abandoned sects, sky palace treasuries, and even some cultivation caves hosting a lot of treasures. Donʼt tell me you havenʼt chanced upon a single inheritance left behind by a Sovereign character?”

”…”

Davis shrugged, causing the Stormsong Familyʼs Empyreal Monarch to chuckle.

”An Anarchic Divergent like you is really hated by the heavens. Wouldnʼt it be better for you to die in my hands and gift me karmic virtue so that I could get luckier in finding numerous cultivation opportunities, finally even surpassing the Azure Dragon Lower Realmʼs Empyreal Monarchs?”

”Uhrm…” Davis appeared like he was considering it as he looked away before looking back.

”Why donʼt you become my prey instead? Youʼre not the strongest Empyreal Monarch in your family, are you?”

A mocking smile lingered on his lips.

”Hmph!” The Stormsong Familyʼs Empyreal Monarch harrumphed, ”Iʼm the second strongest, but so what? That doesnʼt mean any of you are my match except you, so if I want to, I can easily harm your women and make you submit.”

He grinned, causing Davisʼs smile to leave his face.

”What? Donʼt tell me you donʼt want your weakness targeted on a battlefield. You shouldnʼt have brought them here if you didnʼt want them to be targeted. Thatʼs on you.”

The Stormsong Familyʼs Empyreal Monarch laughed more, his voice resounding vile.

Lea narrowed her brows, wanting to kill this person personally.

She was a Sect Master, so she knew when sending sect disciples to foreign lands for adventure or treasures, the rules were no rules. Some form of civility could be maintained, but that also depended on oneʼs or the groupʼs strength as nothing was given, so she could see that in the few weeks or months, these disciples stayed here, their minds completely adapted to survival, fully revealing their inner thoughts, in other words, their true selves.

To these people, it didnʼt matter if Davis had been an Anarchic Divergent or not. If he had something they wanted, the fact remained that they would use all kinds of excuses to make him the villain and attack him.

”Fair enough.”

But at this moment, Lea saw Davis agreeing with them.

”But, rather than targeting my women, you should be more concerned about the injury on your stomach than capturing my woman because you wonʼt survive past two hours at this rate.”

Davis raised his hand and pointed at his opponentʼs stomach, causing the latterʼs brows to crease.

”You think your remnant death energy could corrode my life?”

He smiled mockingly at Davis and chuckled, ”Watch and learn.”

White lightning abruptly coiled around his body like snakes and then suddenly traversed to the part where his stomach was cut. The lightning strands arced like waves over the injury, actually causing the grayish-black strands contaminating his injury to start cracking. The remnant death energy appeared like it turned solid and shattered, slowly crumbling out of existence.

This scene caused even Nadiaʼs eyes to widen as she appeared shocked.

”Did you see that? Ahaha!”

The Stormsong Familyʼs Empyreal Monarch laughed vigorously, ”Our Stormsong Familyʼs white lightning is not only silent and fast, but it is capable of eroding darkness like water drenching fire. It is also capable of eroding death energy as it is a dark energy, causing good karma to be left in its wake.”

”Hm~” Davis nodded with his lips pursed as though he wasnʼt surprised, ”I heard that your white lightning came from a Heaven-Tier Spirit thatʼs extremely strong.”

”You dare speak about our deity without using honorifics!?”

The young Empyreal Monarch roared, ”Let me teach you whatʼs truly death!”

*Bzzz!~*

White lightning surged out from their bodies as the Empyreal Monarch and the four Kingly Monarchs raised their hands.

Their lightning energies from all three cultivation systems, once scattered like disparate stars, now intertwined and danced in a symphony of pure light. The air around them hummed with power, echoing the immense reservoir of strength they had harnessed.

Their prowess grew, causing Lea and Nadiaʼs hearts to skip a beat as they felt like they wouldnʼt be able to take on this attack without sacrificing their blood essence.

”Wait!”

Davis suddenly raised his hands, his expression appearing worried.

Seeing this, the Empyreal Monarch grinned, ”What? Do you want to submit? Unfortunately-”

”Your stomach is bleeding again…”

Davis spoke as he pointed while appearing solemn, causing the latterʼs brows to squint, but he then suddenly turned shocked as he noticed a thin line emerge over his stomach, corroded by pitch-black energy.

”…!”

What shouldʼve healed already was severed open, the death energy beginning to invade his pores.

”What!? Impossible! How did you attack me again?” He roared but still didnʼt stop collecting the rampant lightning energy revolving around him

”Attack you again?”

Davis acted confused, ”Donʼt you know that death is poisonous at its core? Once it touches you, it does nothing but overwhelms you, snuffing out your life slowly.”

”Fucker! Didnʼt I just say my white lightning is capable of extinguishing death energy!? What did you use to carve my stomach again!?”

The Empyreal Monarch roared as his gaze shook as if this was a karmic attack, he knew he was screwed, but if it was not, then it would mean the other party had the ability to completely stomp him without even raising his leg as he sensed no movements from his opponent other than the fact that he kept taunting him.

”Hmm.”  Davis nodded again as though agreeing with him but suddenly gestured, ”Perhaps, have you ever thought the death energy your people faced all this time was something… impure…?”

”…!”

The Stormsong Familyʼs Empyreal Monarchʼs gaze thoroughly shook.

Impure? There was purity to death…?

At that moment, the title Emperor of Death, which he found laughable, finally struck some fear in his heart.

”Kill!~”

Abruptly, a long white lightning bow manifested with the five of them standing in a wing formation when the Empyreal Monarch suddenly stomped back like an arrow being nocked back. The entire power of the white lightning they had gathered fit into his palms, allowing him to release it like an arrow as he unleashed it without hesitation.

*Rip!!~*

A flash of white light overwhelmed the entire region, causing Davis and everyone to turn blind.
