Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3122 A Change of Mind?

Fairy Thunderblaze couldnʼt understand if these people around him really possessed such potential as well as the wits to accomplish what they had done, as it wasnʼt like she didnʼt recognize Dalilaʼs feat in being able to refine an annihilative heavenly lightning dragon that would even give her the chills.

She remembered her first time facing it. It threatened to destroy her with all it got, and the impact it had on her made her feel tiny and helpless like she was nothing in front of the grandness of the heavens, yet these two women faced it like they were battling another cultivator who was just more powerful than them, not showing much respect or fear.

However, what she felt was even more ridiculous was that the crystalline cerulean pill that hovered around Davis.

It wasnʼt like she didnʼt recognize that pill had surpassed Spirit-Tier, but what it meant, she didnʼt know exactly, only knowing that its prowess was on par with Kingly Monarchs, which meant eight levels higher, causing her to crease her brows.

She couldnʼt believe he had another ally at that level already before they reached the temple that hid another Spirit-Tier Pill within.

As far as she knew, it was also supposed to be a Peak-Level Immortal King Grade Pill, making her wonder if they would even consider heading there anymore, but she disagreed, knowing that they would make the trip because the Celestial Luminescence Pill was also a strong pill that was said to be capable of reaching eight levels higher while still being a Spirit-Tier Pill due to its source from the world tree, the Ethereal Lumina Tree.

It was of superior quality.

Not only was it too strong, but she imagined that it also granted different effects according to what she was able to contrive from this battle.

Nonetheless, her gaze flashed as she saw the annihilative heavenly flames under the Emperor of Deathʼs sway. His life energy that dominated these flames made her eyelids tremble, causing her to close her eyes and look away, unable to understand how two opposite energies that literally meant life and death could exist in the soul at the same time.

Fairy Myria and Davis were an enigma to her, but they seemed to watch out for each other with how they planned to interfere with the tribulation.

She couldnʼt understand their relationship but knew something was going on with them.

All things considered, she took a step forward and rose to the air, flying towards them.

Davis was checking on Epsila, scrutinizing the runes on her tiny pill body.

ʼPerhaps, if I manage to locate an inscriptionist- no, a runist, I might be able to have such a person transcribe these runes to oneʼs soul, allowing a cultivator to be able to artificially increase their prowess, either passively or a temporary boost for heightened prowess…ʼ

Davis wondered, imagining all sorts of possibilities.

An inscription could imbue an effect in literally anything, an object or a living thing, and when multiple inscriptions join in shaping a combined inscription, itʼs called a rune.

His Sophie was already a Runist King since she learned it to inscribe them on armaments and artifacts, but he didnʼt know what kind of achievement she had in that profession. However, he knew it shouldnʼt be worse nor exemplary since forging was her main profession.

Eventually, he had enough of examining the runes and got to check Epsilaʼs mental capacity.

ʼAs expected… sheʼs healthy as a newborn soul… just a bit confused…ʼ

Davis saw that the annihilative heavenly lightning dragonʼs Will helped her become accustomed to this new body faster than ever, so he didnʼt need to worry if she would follow in Everlightʼs footsteps. Nonetheless, having confirmed that there were no critical injuries agonizing his people, he turned to look at Myria, wanting to talk to her, but was greeted by a dislikeable woman instead, causing him to wryly smile.

”I havenʼt even done refining the annihilative heavenly flames yet, but you want it?”

He chuckled, his expression appearing amused, but even a fool could see that he was certainly not amused.

”…”

Fairy Thunderblaze didnʼt reply, knowing the weight of the situation as she could see his sapphire eyes lock on her like he was going to threaten her, except she understood that it wasnʼt going to be empty threats.

Indeed, Davis glared at Fairy Thunderblaze.

How could he give refined heavenly entities away so easily? It was the sweat and blood of his wives, not his own. He would rather have a fallout here than give the annihilative heavenly flame wisps. However, he remained quiet, waiting for her foolish words to leave her mouth so that he could teach her a lesson.

He didnʼt think of killing her. After all, for better or worse, having been saved two times by her, she was still his benefactor, no matter her ulterior motives.

That was the most thankful part as well as the dislikeable part, as he didnʼt want to be indebted to her.

”I donʼt want discord, so how do you think I should approach you in order to obtain these annihilative heavenly flames from you?”

”…”

Davis narrowed his brows further as his lips slightly parted.

This womanʼs ability to avoid an altercation when she knew she was at a disadvantage was simply good that he couldnʼt help but smile, shaking his head.

”Rest assured. I will not go against my promises nor take advantage of you as long as you donʼt offend me or my people.”

Fairy Thunderblaze blinked, ”Are you saying that I canʼt obtain these flaming wisps now?”

”Indeed.” Davis shamelessly nodded.

”I apologize for the delay. I will not give these to you even though I have them because these were obtained by my precious people as they staked their lives for me. Their value increased a hundredfold in my mind, so this is not up for trade either.”

”Quite the passionate individual you are.”

Fairy Thunderblaze giggled ever so lightly, her tone sonorous and mesmerizing to oneʼs ears.

”So what?”

Davis asked with raised brows, wondering if she was offended and using a smile to hide it.

However, she paused to tilt her head, appearing curious.

”I donʼt dislike it, rather making me wonder how far you can advance with that personality of yours as Iʼm starting to think you might be right all along.”

”Preferably, I would like it to take me as far as it could take me, but you never know, although-” Davis gestured as he made his fingers walk along the air before shrugging, ”Who knows? You could be right, but only time can tell.”

”You have proved that-”

Fairy Thunderblaze had just responded with amusement when she turned to look towards the east.

Davis also did the same, sensing multiple undulations that exploded near a mountain peak.
