Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3113 Maintaining Balance

*Bzzz!~*

An electrifying aura ran rampant as Davis tried to imbue Epsilaʼs spirit into the Soulforge Elevation Resonance Pill.

He poured in every ounce of his concentration, making sure the life and death wheelʼs balance didnʼt break as he pushed forth the cerulean wisp into the pill.

Epsilaʼs cries could be heard no more, but he could still hear her plead within his heart for him to succeed. His expression churned, fusing the body and the soul as much as he could.

ʼCome on… I just need to achieve a balance where Epsila is not rejected by the Soulforge Elevation Resonance Pill anymore…ʼ

Davisʼs arms shook.

This kind of focus, where he could not make a single mistake, was drastically consuming his psyche. He was using this modified technique for the first time, so his consumption was also not ordinary, making him perspire.

Nonetheless, as long as he could imbue her spirit into it completely, all that remained was for him to use Karmicblight and bring down a heavenly tribulation to allow Epsila to shower in it so that she could borrow the heavenʼs will to solidify her spirit in the pill.

Thatʼs why Ascended-Tier Pills that survived on their own against their Pill Tribulations possess far more soul prowess, which allows them to escape better as their intellect is more pronounced.

Epsila is a Spirit-Tier Pill.

When she came to life, she knew nothing much, acting and sounding like a baby, but now, she was well versed in etiquette at the very least, but that took time.

In the same way, a pill spirit going through its heavenly tribulation will drastically increase its sentience and rational thought process, allowing for faster growth.

Davis was sure that Epsila had to bathe in her heavenly tribulation in order for her to truly acquire a new body. At least, his modified technique was intended to be that way, as this was a technique originally meant for armament and artifact spirits.

However, it couldnʼt be helped that he didnʼt have a surefire technique, considering that he was greatly lacking in knowledge about pill spirits, so he decided to rely on the heavens that allowed these spirits to exist and thrive upon crossing the tribulation.

”…”

Tina and Dalila also went stiff, sharing the same fate as Davis, as they didnʼt even allow their breaths to disturb him. They knew what kind of junction he was at as their surroundings couldnʼt have the slightest disturbance, or the technique might be disturbed, causing the transplantation to fail.

Time passed.

Thirty seconds, a minute, two minutes… three minutes.

*Bzzzz!~*

At the third minute and thirty-sixth mark, the cerulean wisp finally disappeared from Davisʼs palms, leaving only the lustrous cerulean crystal pill that shone with a bright gleam.

”…”

Davisʼs eyes were as wide as they could be as he began to analyze the changes in the Soulforge Elevation Resonance Pill, wondering if Epsila had successfully taken over it. He used Heart Intent, but Epsilaʼs spirit was too chaotic to make out anything and was just about to touch her physically for direct communication.

”Aaa… master, itʼs so painful…”

”…!”

Instantly, Davisʼs face broke into a relieved yet excited smile. Tina and Dalila also heaved a sigh of relief. They could hear her pained voice, but he spoke out.

”Epsila! Youʼre too good! Hold onto the pill and solidify yourself!”

Davis instructed Epsila thrice in case she couldnʼt hear him before he hurriedly turned to Dalila as he closed the distance between them and wrapped his arms around her, his lips moving.

”Endure…”

Dalila had just heard it when she suddenly felt a gust of cold air sweep through her entirety even though she was held by Davis like she was his child at the moment, protected and secure from everything. Despite his efforts to warm her, she felt a tingling sensation at the base of her neck as it spread across her entire spine, causing her to shiver without a stop.

It was as though an icy rock was on the back of her skin, causing the tiny hairs on her neck to stand on end.

The shiver she experienced right now was so outright terrifying and creepy that it couldnʼt be explained, but it sure set off a chain of reactions, making her feel prickly and almost sick. However, she endured as she knew this feeling as she had experienced it once before.

Why? Because Dalila could tell that Davis was pouring karmic sin into her somehow. She had experienced this once before, but it wasnʼt as intense as now, although it wasnʼt as scary as before.

Indeed, Davis was using Karmicblight to imbue karmic sin to Dalila so that she could perform the Karmic Embodiment Technique she learned from Ellia.

It was what allowed her to make Ascended-Tier Pills that brought down Pill Tribulations with heavenly flames, allowing Zestria to have a bit of comprehension over it that she helped him act as a balance when he made his new Essence Gathering Physique.

Now, he was imbuing karmic sin into her, accurately, second-tier karmic sin that would allow her to concoct a Spirit-Tier Pill.

Therefore, if she were to use the karmic sin on Epsilaʼs new body that had just been concocted, it would unleash its evil aura and bring down a heavenly tribulation with heavenly flames.

However he couldʼve done this himself, but he didnʼt do it.

Why? The foremost reason had to do with Fallen Heaven.

He definitely didnʼt want to be in a direct confrontation with the heavens in the true immortal world. After all, if he imbued Karmicblight on Epsila by himself, it might have an adverse and unknown reaction. The second but most important reason was it was unknown what would happen if he, an Anarchic Divergent, were to concoct a pill of the Spirit Tier.

Even if it was normal, he didnʼt know what would happen as Epsila had already undergone her heavenly tribulation as a pill spirit.

She shouldnʼt be undergoing it twice, which could make her-

Davis shook his head as he hoped that he was wrong this time.

He had so many reservations, all because this was for Epsilaʼs life. For gathering annihilative heavenly flames, he could always concoct a new pill, Spirit-Tier Pill, and Karmicblight it, but with Epsilaʼs life, he only had a single chance that he couldnʼt play with.

As he held Dalila, he finally noticed that she stopped shivering.

Dalila was now taking a deep breath.

As the chill dissipated, the terrifying sensation gradually faded away, leaving behind a lingering awareness of her own vulnerability and the interconnection of her body and mind, but the solitude was quickly filled by his warmth and his scent, causing her lips to curl with a satisfied smile.

”Iʼm ready…”

She calmly uttered, causing Davis to let go of her as he took a step back.

Looking at her beautiful face filled with determination, he gave a heavy nod and held her hands. This woman told him that she would capture his heart with pills, and she was just doing that without looking anywhere else, truly capturing his heart through her own efforts.

”Be careful.”

”I will.”

Dalila waited for Davis to let her hands go before she walked towards the floating crystal cerulean pill. She grasped Epsila with her soul force and flew towards Tyriele, who was at the center of the chamber. The ceiling was a dome that was now open, ready to receive heavenly tribulation anytime.

”Karmic Embodiment: Pill From The Sinful Underworld.”

A solemn voice resounded out from Dalila as she made hand signs and joined her hands, interlinking her fingers.

At the same time, the karmic sin that had been just imbued on her surged out like filth, turning her purple-robed figure pitch black.

”…”

Davisʼs eyes were wide as he watched dark purple flames emerge from her body like butterfly wisps before they surrounded Epsila, encapsulating her in a vessel of the wicked.

Its very aura was evil, yet it dissipated into thin air, disappearing along with a burst of dark purple flames, leaving behind the crystalline cerulean pill glowing with an unholy light.

*Rumble!~*

The thunderous sound of the weather changing resounded out, causing Davisʼs gaze to flicker before he retreated from the palace.

There should be no one present other than the ones who created the pill and the cauldron itself.
