Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 595: Chapter 595: A Tiger or a Kitten?

Returning home, Lin Yun felt a sense of peace and tranquility fill his heart. Home was truly a person’s harbor. Here, Lin Yun felt the heavy burdens on his shoulders lighten considerably.

Of course, he had come to the Yanhuang Country this time for the matter of the mysterious ruins. Although Lin Yun was at home, Luo Feng had already dispatched two Supreme Elders to the Mysterious Forest to scout the situation.

Not knowing what the ruins were, it was only proper to send people to investigate first. Besides, Qingfeng Saint and Flowing Water Saint had already arrived at the Mysterious Forest and were also investigating the ruins.

Wanting to spend more time at home with his parents, Lin Yun consulted with Luo Feng and decided they would set off in three days. For these next three days, Lin Yun wanted to spend some quality time with Lin Xiaotian and Zhang Jingxiang.

He gave Lin Xiaotian many of the Elixirs and Primordial Stones he had on him. Zhang Jingxiang had never cultivated before, but in recent years, her cultivation had also reached the Third Layer of Qi Sea Realm.

”Father, your Combat Power might be a bit weaker if you rely on Elixirs to cultivate, but your lifespan will genuinely be extended. You and Mother shouldn’t be stingy with these Elixirs,” Lin Yun urged as he handed them to Lin Xiaotian.

Many of the Elixirs Lin Yun gave to Lin Xiaotian were unavailable in the Yanhuang Country. Therefore, Lin Yun was worried Lin Xiaotian and Zhang Jingxiang would be reluctant to use them, which was why he gave them this special reminder.

Lin Xiaotian patted Lin Yun’s shoulder, a hint of pride in his eyes. He laughed heartily and said, ”Alright. Your mother and I will definitely raise our cultivation.”

As father and son were chatting in the main hall, a guard suddenly rushed in. ”Patriarch, something’s happened...!”

”What is it?” Lin Xiaotian asked upon hearing this. Although he was no longer the Grand General of the Yanhuang Country, all the Martial Artists in the Yanhuang Capital knew that Lin Xiaotian had a heaven-defying son.

Therefore, many Martial Artists and Loose Cultivators in the Yanhuang Capital hoped to join the Lin Family, even if only as a guard. As a result, the Lin Family now had over a dozen guards and maids.

Hearing Lin Xiaotian’s question, the guard calmed his ragged breathing and said with some concern, ”The Black-striped Tiger... The Black-striped Tiger has killed another of the Royal Family’s Demon Beasts.”

’The Black-striped Tiger?’ Hearing the guard’s words, Lin Yun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. ’It’s been a few years, and the Black-striped Tiger’s guts have certainly grown.’

Lin Yun didn’t know the full situation with the Black-striped Tiger, so in the end, it was Lin Xiaotian who explained it to him.

According to Lin Xiaotian, the Black-striped Tiger had broken through to become a Tier Four Demon Beast a year ago. After its breakthrough, it could speak human language.

Although it was very polite and respectful toward Lin Xiaotian, Zhang Jingxiang, and Zhong Lin, the Black-striped Tiger, having become a Tier Four Demon Beast, immediately set its sights on the Royal Family.

Every so often, the Black-striped Tiger would go and wreak havoc on the Royal Family. Now, whenever the Forbidden Guard Army in the Imperial Palace saw the Black-striped Tiger, it was like seeing King Yama himself; they were completely helpless against it.

In just one year, the Black-striped Tiger had killed several thousand members of the Forbidden Guard Army. The Royal Family’s Demon Beasts had it even worse; they were nearly all killed by the tiger. If this continued, the Royal Family would probably have to travel on foot.

Faced with such a ferocious Black-striped Tiger, the Royal Family had naturally come looking for Lin Xiaotian. However, Lin Xiaotian was also powerless. Although the Black-striped Tiger respected him, it didn’t listen to his commands.

When the Black-striped Tiger found out the Royal Family had sent people to complain, its retaliation became even more ferocious. In the end, the Yanhuang Royal Family didn’t even dare to come to Lin Xiaotian to complain anymore.

After hearing Lin Xiaotian’s story, Lin Yun gave a helpless smile and then said to him, ”Dad, I’ll go take a look.”

”Mm, that stubborn tiger... you’re probably the only one who can handle it.” Hearing Lin Yun’s words, Lin Xiaotian nodded. He figured the Black-striped Tiger would only listen to Lin Yun.

Lin Yun had the guard lead him to the Black-striped Tiger. Along the way, the man kept stealing glances at him.

Lin Yun, who looked to be just in his early twenties, walked beside him, making the man feel an immense pressure. Although he couldn’t sense Lin Yun’s cultivation or any aura at all, this inexplicable sense of oppression didn’t lessen in the slightest.

The man even felt that not even the Emperor of the Yanhuang Country possessed an aura as oppressive as Lin Yun’s.

As his mind raced with wild thoughts, the man suddenly felt very fortunate that he had been able to become a guard for the Lin Family.

They arrived at the gates of the Imperial Palace. Seeing that a guard from the Lin Family had arrived, a leader of the Royal Family’s Forbidden Guard Army roared angrily, ”That vile beast of yours killed another of the Royal Family’s Demon Beasts! Is your Lin Family trying to defy the heavens?”

They didn’t dare act presumptuously in front of the Black-striped Tiger, but they had no such reservations when facing a mere guard from the Lin Family. This was how it had always been. Powerless against the Black-striped Tiger, the Forbidden Guard Army would take all their frustrations out on the Lin Family’s guards.

This time, however, they had clearly miscalculated, because Lin Yun was standing right beside the guard. Lin Yun slowly extended his right hand, and a surge of Elemental Power, like an extension of his arm, instantly clamped around the Forbidden Guard Army leader’s neck.

Lifting the man’s entire body off the ground, Lin Yun looked at him coolly and said, ”Defy the heavens? If my father weren’t so magnanimous, the heavens of this Yanhuang Country would probably no longer be surnamed Tang.”

Lin Yun’s tone was calm, yet to the ears of the Forbidden Guard Army, his words exploded like a clap of thunder. ’Father? Lin Xiaotian?’

The Forbidden Guard leader quickly reacted, his eyes filling with terror as he looked at Lin Yun. ”You’re... Lin Yun?”

”Take me to the Black-striped Tiger.” Without answering the man’s question, Lin Yun set him down and spoke indifferently.

Now aware of Lin Yun’s identity, the Forbidden Guard Army leader respectfully led him toward the Imperial Palace, acting cautiously the entire way. He didn’t dare utter a single word of complaint.

Led by the Forbidden Guard Army leader, Lin Yun finally saw the Black-striped Tiger. It was currently dozing in the Imperial Palace’s main plaza, the corpse of a wild bull lying beside it.

Having broken through to a Tier Four Demon Beast, the Black-striped Tiger looked even more terrifying, with its black fur, massive head, and razor-sharp claws.

Faced with the Black-striped Tiger dozing so brazenly, the Forbidden Guards only dared to watch from a distance, showing no intention of making a move.

”Little Ape, go say hello. It’s been a few years. Let’s see if this stubborn tiger still recognizes you,” Lin Yun said to Little Ape with a smile.

Hearing this, a playful smile appeared on Little Ape’s face. It leaped from Lin Yun’s shoulder, and in mid-air, the fist-sized ape instantly transformed into a ten-meter-tall giant.

BOOM! It landed in front of the Black-striped Tiger, shattering the stone tiles of the plaza under its feet.

The sudden commotion sent the dozing Black-striped Tiger into a rage. Its crimson eyes snapped open, and before it even got a clear look at Little Ape, it roared, ”Courting death! How dare you disturb Master Hu’s sleep!”

”Hey, Xiaohai, it’s been a few years. You dare to speak to me like that now?” Little Ape chuckled upon hearing the Black-striped Tiger’s furious roar.

Hearing these words, the Black-striped Tiger finally looked at Little Ape. For a moment, the still-furious tiger froze on the spot.
