Chapter 552: Chapter 552: Storming the Wei Family

The two culprits fled for their lives. At this moment, Lin Yun was already heading for the Wei Family estate. Just as he expected, the pair were in the Wei Family’s main hall, recounting the events to Patriarch Wei.

”Lord Wei, this Lin Yun is an absolute demon! He pretended he wanted to be a guest at my residence, but who knew that when night fell, he would suddenly go on a killing spree, slaughtering my father and everyone in the Ji Family...!”

At a time like this, the two weren’t thinking about what they had done wrong, but how to survive. To that end, they listed all of Lin Yun’s supposed evils before Patriarch Wei. In their version of the story, Lin Yun was painted as an unforgivable devil.

Patriarch Wei was a middle-aged man who bore a slight resemblance to Wei Yunhang. This was natural, as Patriarch Wei was, in fact, Wei Yunhang’s father.

Hearing their words, Patriarch Wei did not immediately believe them. As the patriarch of the number one family in Fire City, Patriarch Wei was naturally much smarter than Patriarch Ji. He certainly wouldn’t be so quick to trust their one-sided story.

”You’re saying Lin Yun was the one who suggested going to the Ji Family estate?” Patriarch Wei asked, looking at the two of them.

”That’s right. We were under Brother Wei’s orders to welcome Lin Yun in Fire City. We were originally going to bring him here to the Wei Family estate, but on the way, Lin Yun himself said he wanted to go to the Ji Family estate,” the two explained defensively.

Upon hearing this, Patriarch Wei’s eyes bored into them as he bellowed, ”Do you take me for a fool? This is Lin Yun’s first time in Fire City. How would he know about the Ji Family? And why would he suggest going there himself?”

Hearing Patriarch Wei’s angry shout, the two were momentarily speechless. ’That’s right, Lin Yun has never been to Fire City. How could he possibly know about the Ji Family?’

The two exchanged a glance. A spark of an idea flashed in the eyes of Patriarch Ji’s son, and he quickly argued to Patriarch Wei, ”Patriarch Wei, there’s something you don’t know. When we went to welcome Lin Yun outside the city today, my younger sister was with us. The truth is, Lin Yun took a liking to my sister’s beauty and wanted to...”

If Lin Yun were here, he would surely want to rip out their hearts just to see if they were red or black.

”Your sister?” Patriarch Wei asked, suspicious.

”Yes, exactly! Patriarch Wei, we are completely loyal to Brother Wei. We would never deceive you! This Lin Yun is truly an animal! First, he tried to violate my sister, and then he killed so many people in my Ji Family! Patriarch Wei, you have to help us! He’s surely on his way to kill us now!” The two knelt before Patriarch Wei, weeping and wailing.

Even Lin Yun couldn’t fathom how two people with such dispositions had managed to become Core Disciples of the Taiqing Academy. At that moment, Lin Yun had arrived at the Wei Family’s gate.

It was now late at night. The moment Lin Yun suddenly appeared at the Wei Family gate, a guard stepped forward to question him. ”This is the Wei Family estate. What are you doing here?”

”Did two disciples from the Taiqing Academy run in here?” Lin Yun asked, ignoring the guard’s question.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the guard’s expression changed. Seeing this, Lin Yun already knew the answer. ’So those two dogs really did run to the Wei Family.’

Ignoring the guard, Lin Yun walked straight toward the Wei Family’s main gate. Seeing that Lin Yun intended to force his way in, the guard immediately shouted, ”Kid, what do you think you’re doing? Do you have any idea of the consequences of trespassing on the Wei Family estate?”

At the guard’s shout, several other Wei Family guards watching the gate surrounded Lin Yun.

However, these guards were only at the Primordial Ocean Realm of Cultivation. With just a few punches, Lin Yun knocked them all to the ground.

Lin Yun kicked open the Wei Family’s main gate and swaggered inside. News of an intruder quickly reached Patriarch Wei. At the same time, dozens of Wei Family guards were already rushing toward Lin Yun, among them two Guard Commanders at the Celestial Spirit Realm Minor Achievement.

When they heard that Lin Yun had already broken in, the two disciples collapsed to the floor in fear before Patriarch Wei could even speak. They repeatedly begged Patriarch Wei to protect them.

”Patriarch Wei, it must be Lin Yun! He’s come to kill us!”

”Patriarch Wei, you have to save us! We’re Core Disciples of the Taiqing Academy, Brother Wei’s men!”

The two cried out, one after the other. Listening to their wailing, Patriarch Wei boomed, ”Enough! Look at you, pathetic! And you call yourselves Core Disciples? You’re a disgrace to the Taiqing Academy! Rest assured, the Wei Family estate is not a place Lin Yun can just barge into as he pleases. Since you’ve come to me, I will naturally ensure your safety.”

Patriarch Wei said this not because he believed their story, but because Lin Yun had forced his way into the Wei Family estate. If these two were killed by Lin Yun on Wei Family grounds, where would the Wei Family’s honor be?

In Patriarch Wei’s mind, even if these two had committed a heinous crime, they could only be punished by the Taiqing Academy. He absolutely could not allow Lin Yun to be the one to kill them.

Hearing Patriarch Wei’s words, a smile touched the corners of both their mouths. With Patriarch Wei’s guarantee, what could Lin Yun possibly do to them today? The Wei Family was nothing like the Ji Family; their strength was several times greater.

”Someone! Summon the three Grand Commanders! I’d like to see for myself just how arrogant this sixth-ranked Demon Fiend of the Eastern Domain really is,” he shouted to the guards outside.

Soon, the Wei Family’s three Grand Commanders were summoned to the main hall by Patriarch Wei. These three men commanded all the Wei Family guards. Two of them had Cultivations at the Peak of Celestial Spirit Realm, while one was at Celestial Spirit Realm Perfection.

”Guard the entrance to the main hall. I want to see just how capable this Lin Yun is that he dares to storm my Wei Family estate,” Patriarch Wei ordered the three.

Hearing Patriarch Wei’s command, the three Grand Commanders answered in unison. They then led more than ten Primordial Ocean Realm guards to block the entrance to the main hall.

”Alright, get off your knees,” Patriarch Wei said, looking at the two. ”But let me tell you one thing. I will protect you from Lin Yun tonight. However, you should think hard about whether your story is true or false. When Yunhang returns, I will have him question you personally.”

”Thank you, Lord Wei.” The two were already delighted just to be able to keep their lives tonight. As for Wei Yunhang, they figured they could just deny everything to the bitter end.

The two sat down in chairs, and Patriarch Wei returned to his seat at the head of the hall. The entire Wei Family hall was on high alert, as if facing a great enemy. The main courtyard was surrounded by Wei Family guards, and the three Grand Commanders stood watch outside the main hall’s entrance.

As everyone waited in silence, there was a loud BANG! The gate to the main courtyard was smashed open by the body of a Wei Family guard, and Lin Yun slowly walked into the courtyard.

Reaching the center of the main courtyard, Lin Yun’s gaze immediately fell upon the two dogs sitting inside the main hall. His eyes were icy, and his killing intent was palpable. Then, Lin Yun looked toward Patriarch Wei on the main seat and asked in a loud voice.

”Patriarch Wei, are you really going to protect these two animals?”

Hearing Lin Yun’s question, Patriarch Wei replied in an equally loud voice, ”Lin Yun, don’t be impudent! Both of them are Core Disciples of the Taiqing Academy. How could I possibly stand by and watch you execute them?”
