Chapter 561: Chapter 561: Blood-Stained Arena

The instantaneous eruption of sky-piercing Evil Qi from Little Ape made Brother Feng and the other Core Disciples of Taiqing Academy stop laughing, their expressions turning foul.

”Lin Yun, you...” Realizing he’d been played, Brother Feng shot to his feet and pointed at Lin Yun, his face contorted with rage.

A sly smirk touched the corners of his lips as Lin Yun spoke coolly, ”What’s the matter? We had an agreement. Life and death are our own to bear. Are you trying to go back on your word? Or perhaps these ten I’ve chosen are your subordinates, and it pains you to see them in danger?”

”You... you... you...” Glaring furiously at Lin Yun, Brother Feng was speechless for a long moment. In the end, he could only turn to Wei Yunhang, hoping he would intervene on his behalf.

But Wei Yunhang’s reaction was a clear disappointment. He had already sat back down, evidently abandoning the ten Direct Disciples.

With no other recourse, Brother Feng could only sit back down, his face grim. He had already laid all the blame on Qin Feng. ’I’m going to make Qin Feng suffer for this later,’ he thought.

Qin Feng had only recently become a Core Disciple of Taiqing Academy, so his status was very low. This was why Brother Feng dared to bully him so brazenly.

The Core Disciples of Taiqing Academy all had grim expressions, as the battle on the Martial Arts Arena had already begun. And they weren’t the only ones; on the central high platform, the faces of the Taiqing Institute Director and the Six Supreme Elders were also dark.

The Taiqing Institute Director glanced at Wei Yunhang. Seeing that Wei Yunhang had no intention of intervening, he had a good idea of what was going on. Lin Yun was likely enraged that a Taiqing Academy Direct Disciple had used a Blood Burst Pill earlier.

’But Lin Yun is being truly ruthless,’ he thought. ’Flawless Palace only had two members injured, yet he’s going to kill ten of our Direct Disciples in retaliation.’

The battle on the Martial Arts Arena was devoid of suspense. Facing Little Ape, the ten Direct Disciples weren’t stupid. They all immediately consumed Blood Burst Pills and, almost in unison, chose to flee.

Compared to their lives, things like face were utterly insignificant. Survival was all that mattered.

However... against Little Ape, even escaping proved difficult for these Direct Disciples. Even after taking Blood Burst Pills, they couldn’t last more than a few moves at its hands.

After all, Little Ape’s Combat Power was not much weaker than Lin Yun’s.

Watching this scene unfold on the arena, everyone from Taiqing Academy had faces as dark as thunderclouds. In stark contrast, the members of Flawless Palace were ecstatic.

In just over ten breaths’ time, Little Ape had already slaughtered five Direct Disciples, tearing each one of them to shreds. The entire Martial Arts Arena was already stained crimson with their blood.

”Enough...!” Just then, from the high platform where the Main Seat Elders were seated, two of them—both at the Peak of the Celestial Spirit Realm—shot toward the Martial Arts Arena. These ten Direct Disciples were their students, and watching their own apprentices be slaughtered by a ferocious beast, the two could finally hold back no longer.

Seeing this, Lin Yun shot out as well, intercepting the two Main Seat Elders in mid-air.

When the five remaining Direct Disciples, who were scattering in terror, saw their masters arrive, they began to cry and beg for their lives. ”Master, save me! Save me!”

Their path blocked by Lin Yun, the two elders saw that five of their disciples were already dead and the other five were scared out of their minds. Their faces turned grim as they faced Lin Yun.

”Lin Yun, what is the meaning of this?”

”It means nothing,” Lin Yun replied. ”I merely made a bet with a member of your Taiqing Academy. What, are people from Taiqing Academy the only ones allowed to challenge Flawless Palace? Are the people of my Flawless Palace not allowed to challenge you?”

’These people from Taiqing Academy,’ Lin Yun thought. ’When their disciple took a Blood Burst Pill and severely wounded a Flawless Palace disciple, they all remained silent. But now that their own apprentices are being killed, they can’t just sit by.’

”Lin Yun, you have already killed five disciples of our Taiqing Academy. What more do you want?” The two Main Seat Elders knew why this was happening and that they were in the wrong. Still, for the sake of their apprentices, they couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.

However, these two clearly didn’t understand Lin Yun’s personality. He either didn’t act at all, or he saw things through to the bitter end. Since he had already told Little Ape to annihilate them, he had absolutely no intention of leaving any survivors.

Blocking their path, Lin Yun’s voice was placid, yet it carried to the ears of everyone present. ”Little Ape, kill them. Leave no one alive.”

At Lin Yun’s command, Little Ape lunged at the five disciples again. Seeing this, the two Main Seat Elders were thoroughly enraged. Lin Yun was giving them no face and showing no mercy. Both erupted with their own Elemental Power almost simultaneously and roared at him.

”Lin Yun, you’re going too far! Do you think this is your Flawless Palace?”

Facing the two Main Seat Elders’ fury, Lin Yun’s expression remained unchanged. ’Worst case, we fight,’ he thought. Besides, he knew the Taiqing Institute Director and the Supreme Elders would never let him be killed right here in Taiqing Academy.

”Enough!” Just as the two Main Seat Elders were about to attack, the Taiqing Institute Director, who was seated on the central high platform, shouted.

The Director had spoken, and the two Main Seat Elders dared not disobey. The Taiqing Institute Director looked at them and said coldly, ”Hmph. Just look at the disciples you’ve trained. Now get back to your seats.”

At these words, the two knew their apprentices could not be saved. They shot Lin Yun a cold glare, then turned and returned to their seats. Once they were gone, Lin Yun naturally returned to his own seat.

In front of everyone from Taiqing Academy, Lin Yun had forcefully annihilated ten Direct Disciples. This all started simply because a Taiqing Academy disciple had used a Blood Burst Pill to injure two Flawless Palace disciples.

Staring at the blood and mangled flesh on the Martial Arts Arena, all the Taiqing Academy disciples felt a chill run down their spines. Many felt a sense of relief that it hadn’t been them. It was clear that as the senior-most disciple of Flawless Palace, Lin Yun was not someone with an empty reputation. His decisiveness in slaughter had already intimidated many who had previously underestimated him.

Lin Yun glanced at the members of Flawless Palace seated below him. Seeing them all looking his way with excited expressions, he offered a faint smile. Just then, Little Ape returned to his side, shrank back down to the size of a fist, and came to rest on his shoulder.

”Brother Wei, is this sufficient?” Wei Yunhang asked, his face grim. With a full ten Direct Disciples ruthlessly slaughtered, his mood was naturally foul.

”What are you saying, Brother Wei? It was merely a sparring match,” Lin Yun replied with a smile.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, Wei Yunhang snorted. He then turned to the Core Disciples on his side, his gaze landing like ice on Brother Feng. ’This is all because of that idiot.’

”From now on, no one from Taiqing Academy is to show any disrespect whatsoever to the people of Flawless Palace,” Wei Yunhang said coldly. ”If you violate this order, don’t blame me for being severe.”

This declaration included a ban on any further provocations against the members of Flawless Palace. If something like this were to happen again, he was afraid even he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from openly turning hostile toward Lin Yun.
