Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 562: Chapter 301: Taboo

He asked again with some unease, ”Ah Chun, who was that person? Do you know them?”

Judging from Spring Spencer’s reaction, it didn’t seem like she didn’t know them.

Spring Spencer lowered her head, quietly put her phone back, and said blandly, ”That’s Mr. Sheldon. Everyone in the country knows him, but whether he knows me or not, I don’t know.”

”Mr. Sheldon? Which Mr. Sheldon?” Blake Leaf asked in confusion, and when Spring Spencer mentioned that everyone in the country knows him, his heart jumped, ”...Is it the Mr. Sheldon from the Sheldon Consortium?!”

Wow! Isn’t he the father of that rich guy my old flame just hooked up with?!

Blake Leaf clenched his fist, holding it in for a long time before squeezing out a sentence: ”Although the second young master Sheldon is young, he doesn’t even come close to his father in looks.”

Spring Spencer silently shook her head and pulled a cigarette from her bag.

...

At that moment inside the exhibition center, Kenneth Osborne suddenly felt his phone vibrate.

He took it out and saw someone had sent him a text message asking him to go outside to discuss something important.

The number looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn’t recall whose number it was at the moment.

He initially didn’t want to bother with it, but then he thought of Francis Johnson, as they hadn’t been in contact for a while.

He wondered if it was something important.

Francis Johnson and his group had a special status, which Kenneth Osborne had already guessed.

So, after hesitating for a while, he decided to go out.

Outside the exhibition center, the moonlight flowed like water, and the dark blue sky was dotted with stars.

Kenneth Osborne took a deep breath.

The air outside was definitely better than inside the exhibition center.

There were over a thousand people inside. Even though there was central air conditioning and air purifiers, it couldn’t compare with the feeling of the open air outside.

Kenneth Osborne glanced around but didn’t see the person he wanted to meet.

A car had just driven away nearby, and he wondered if it was the person who had sent him the text.

Kenneth Osborne stepped down the stairs, took a few quick steps, and even took out his phone to call the number.

But there was no answer.

Could it have been sent to the wrong person?

Kenneth Osborne, puzzled, glanced at the plaza again.

At this moment, he saw two people sitting in the plaza, a man and a woman, both of whom he knew.

The woman was Spring Spencer, and the man was Blake Leaf.

What were these two doing sitting here?

Kenneth Osborne felt a bit contemptuous.

Even though they used to be in a relationship, Blake Leaf was now married to Spring Spencer’s younger sister, and they couldn’t restrain themselves a bit?

Making a spectacle of themselves here...

Kenneth Osborne thought as he turned and walked toward the steps.

Just then, he heard a commotion behind him, followed by a scream: ”Blake Leaf! Are you insane?! Let go of me!”

Kenneth Osborne turned back abruptly and saw Blake Leaf tugging on Spring Spencer’s arm, while she was desperately trying to pull away but couldn’t.

Blake Leaf was saying something, his back to Kenneth Osborne, and he moved closer to Spring Spencer as if to kiss her.

Spring Spencer struggled more fiercely.

Kenneth Osborne couldn’t stand it anymore and strode over, pulling Blake Leaf up from behind and throwing him aside, coldly saying, ”Blake Leaf, we were classmates, don’t do things that disgrace our alma mater.”

It was just that Spring Spencer looked too beautiful in the moonlight, and Blake Leaf, unaware of himself, wanted to get closer to her.

Caught red-handed by Kenneth Osborne, he yelled in anger and shame, ”Kenneth Osborne! Just because you helped me before, don’t think you can boss me around! Who do you think you are?! You had no one with you when you started your business! Even Joyce Shaw left, it was me! I was the one who went into business with you!”

”You’re now burning the bridge after crossing it, suppressing me in every way, afraid that I’ll surpass you! You even quietly fired me!”

”Don’t think that just because your sister married into the Spencer Family, I’ll be afraid of you!”

”I’m also a son-in-law of the Spencer Family! Just try moving a finger against me!”

Kenneth Osborne punched him, knocking Blake Leaf to the ground.

Kneeling beside him on one knee, he grabbed one of Blake Leaf’s hands and said mercilessly, ”What if I move a finger against you?—You asked for it.”

With that, he grabbed Blake Leaf’s left-hand index finger and bent it backward with force.

With a crisp snap, Blake Leaf let out an earth-shattering wail, tears streaming down his face from the pain of having his finger broken by Kenneth Osborne.

He cried out, ”Ken... Kenneth Osborne! This is deliberate injury! I... I’ll sue you!”

At this moment, Spring Spencer suddenly pushed Kenneth Osborne aside and carefully broke Blake Leaf’s left index finger again.

Suffering a second injury, Blake Leaf nearly passed out from the pain: ”You crazy woman... What are you doing?!”

”What am I doing? Earlier you tried to assault me, and I was defending myself when I broke your finger,” Spring Spencer stood up and said coldly, ”Go ahead and sue me if you have the guts, but don’t drag Mr. Osborne into this.”

Blake Leaf realized that Spring Spencer broke his finger again to provide Kenneth Osborne with an alibi.

Filled with hatred and jealousy, he spat harshly, ”What’s so great about him? You women are so shallow! Only care about looks!”

Spring Spencer cast a contemptuous glance at him and said blandly, ”He helped me. I can’t let a good Samaritan be implicated by a scumbag like you. It was my issue. Was I wrong in resisting?”

She looked up at Kenneth Osborne, saying respectfully without being obsequious, ”Mr. Osborne, that man attempted to assault me just now, and when I resisted, I broke his finger. If he calls the police, can you be a witness for me?”

Kenneth Osborne looked at Spring Spencer’s serious ”white lie,” which reminded him of Lawrence Winters’ cheeky manner. He couldn’t help but smile, not bothering to reply, just nodding in acknowledgment.

He realized he was a bit impulsive when he broke Blake Leaf’s finger a moment ago.

But just seeing him brought back memories of the dispute that Lawrence Winters had with him and the serious injury Lawrence suffered, which, in the end, was all Blake Leaf’s fault.

He didn’t regret breaking Blake Leaf’s finger, only regretted letting go too quickly and that he should have broken his whole wrist to make up for Lawrence Winters’ injuries.
