Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 442: Chapter 241: An Epic-Level Instigator (Second Update, Qianshao Qingsha +4)

Kenneth Osborne breathed a sigh of relief and immediately said smoothly, ”Send me the account you and Dad used to buy the plane tickets, and I’ll change them for you. You won’t have to pay any change fees.”

Mrs. Osborne was eager for this, and promptly sent over her account information.

Kenneth swiftly changed their tickets to this evening and said, ”Have you packed your stuff? If you have, you can board the plane tonight and arrive in Z City before midnight. Then, you two go directly by taxi to your sister’s house. Remember, don’t let your sister or brother-in-law know in advance. If they find out, they won’t allow you to go.”

”Got it, got it! Your Dad and I will head to the airport now, and once we arrive in Z City, I’ll call you. We’ll take a taxi to your sister’s house!” Mrs. Osborne felt justified in her decision; it was best to see her daughter’s household with her own eyes!

”If they think they can use us old folks to just toss aside your sister and my grandson, I won’t let them have their way!” Mrs. Osborne was fuming, already picturing Brooke being bullied by Cameron Spencer’s family.

She never thought much of this daughter, viewing her as weak and inept. With such a wealthy husband falling into her lap, she’d never let him divorce her even if it killed her!

Kenneth Osborne hung up the phone, a slight smirk playing on his lips as a shadow flickered through his dark pupils.

Cameron Spencer thinks he’s got everything figured out, but he hasn’t encountered people like Mrs. Osborne and Mr. Osborne yet...

If he wants to use Kenneth’s sister, he’ll have to deal with their parents first.

Kenneth Osborne slipped his phone back into his pocket and quickly walked toward the elevator.

Lawrence Winters’ arm was about to go numb as he complained, ”What was that about? It took so long!”

”Just a small matter.” Kenneth walked inside and rode the elevator with him until they reached the elevator lobby of Lawrence Winters’ apartment.

Once back, Kenneth first went to take out the Kung Fu tea set, arranging it in the living room to prepare a brew for the old Daoist and Nick Zeller.

This tea had to be sipped in small amounts, with teacups just the size of a small liquor glass.

The old Daoist and Nick Zeller exchanged glances and simultaneously burst into laughter.

Offering kindness without reason; they were all old foxes, here to put on a performance of Liaozhai?

The water in the dark-red Yixing teapot on the small red clay stove bubbled with fish-eye bubbles.

Once the water boiled, Kenneth Osborne lifted the teapot and swiftly poured it into the small teacups in a counter-clockwise direction, performing a ”Guan Yu Patrols the City.”

Then he lightly tapped the remaining tea water into each small teacup, a ”Han Xin Counts His Soldiers.”

After pouring, the small teacups were only filled to eighty percent, and the excess tea water in the teapot was discarded and filled with fresh water, waiting for it to boil again.

The old Daoist showed an appreciative expression and said with a smile, ”I didn’t expect Osborne to be skilled in tea-making. Did you specifically learn this?”

”I watched others learning tea art at the youth center when I was a kid, so I joined in for fun.” Kenneth smiled, ”Uncle Nick, old sage, would you like to try this Tieguanyin?”

Nick Zeller and the old Daoist both loved tea, and they hurried over to pick up the small teacups for a careful tasting.

After a round of Kung Fu tea, their faces turned red, reminiscent of someone who had drunk too much alcohol.

After finishing the tea, the group started chatting and telling old stories.

Kenneth quietly listened for a while before suddenly saying, ”Last time I bought a newborn full moon set from Uncle Nick, Uncle Nick gifted a Peach Wood Sword.”

Nick Zeller was still immersed in the thick aroma of the Kung Fu tea and responded with a slight hum, ”Yes, it’s all top quality, definitely worthwhile.”

Kenneth chuckled, ”Indeed, it is worthwhile. Someone even pointed out that the Peach Wood Sword is actually valued more than the newborn full moon set—Uncle Nick really went overboard!”

”No problem, no problem. Anyway, it’s my gift to Brooke. She’s taken care of Lawrence for us over the years, and Lawrence’s mom and I are very grateful to her.” Nick Zeller waved it off nonchalantly.

Kenneth nodded, and continued, ”Actually, the first who discovered the Peach Wood Sword’s secret was Cameron Spencer, the big boss of Spencer Group.”

Nick Zeller had already heard about it when Lawrence mentioned it, so he still didn’t mind, giving a thumbs up and said, ”Spencer Boss has keen vision! No wonder he’s a big businessman!”

Kenneth tossed in one last remark, ”Spencer Boss has just bought a large apartment in this neighborhood. If nothing unexpected happens, he’ll be your neighbor in the future.”

The smile froze on Nick Zeller’s face, and even the old Daoist was taken aback.

”What did you say? Who’s in this neighborhood?” The old Daoist was skeptical, ”Why? Isn’t Spencer Group headquarters in the Southern Region? Don’t they have other houses in the Capital City?”

”They definitely have other houses; this one’s reportedly bought for my sister. While they might not live here permanently, they might occasionally stay for a while as well.” Kenneth gradually explained, ”My parents are going to my sister’s place in the South, which is the Spencer Family’s, for the new year this year. I initially planned to go back to River City, but now that my parents aren’t there, I’m not going back.”

”Not going back is good, spend the new year here!” Nick quickly patted him on the shoulder, jokingly said, ”Your household, isn’t it chaotic every year? These years, I’ve relied on your family’s issues as entertainment over the holidays!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He gave Nick a forced smile, ”Uncle Nick, let’s not put it bluntly. We still have to be relatives in the future...”

The old Daoist chuckled too, ”Really? Too bad I didn’t live with you guys before; my favorite is watching household chaos.”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

This family is hopeless.

He must find a way to take Nora out sooner.

After laying everything out for Nick Zeller and the old Daoist, Kenneth finally went to find Lawrence Winters.

He knocked on the door, hearing Gabrielle Winters’ voice from inside: ”Come in.”

Kenneth knew Gabrielle was in Lawrence’s room, and it would be too rude to leave now.

With steeled nerves, he pushed the door open.

Gabrielle was sitting on a chaise lounge near the window, Lawrence reclined on the floor, her arms draped over Gabrielle’s legs, and the mother and daughter seemed to be whispering secrets.
