Chapter 65: Chapter 25 Battle Situation Analysis Meeting (1)

Damn it, if I could kill you, I would’ve done it already. How can I kill you if I don’t know what you’re thinking? Fatty felt immensely aggrieved.

After circling around and returning to the original spot, a frustrated Tian Xingjian began to complete the calculations in his hands. It was a critical time now; if he was accused of dereliction of duty due to delaying the calculation tasks, that would be quite unfair.

He quickly cross-checked several battle plans and then inserted the electronic folder into the computer’s slot, extracting the data to start the calculations.

Having finished his work, he casually opened the space fleet battle report that Carl had called up earlier. At this moment in the Newton Star System, several space fleets were already locked in fierce combat. It wasn’t just the First Mixed Fleet that was under attack; the Second Mixed Fleet, stationed at the entrance to the Space Jump Point, was also under assault. Moreover, the enemies they faced were nearly twice their numbers, comprising the Imperial Space Task Force, which included six carriers!

Initial intelligence assessment indicated that these fleets were a mixed formation drawn from the Galileo Star System while the Federation’s 3rd and 9th Fleets were returning through the Public Star Domain to the Central Star Domain for resupply after raiding behind enemy lines. Their intention was to completely annihilate all Federation air forces within the Newton Star System, thereby creating conditions for ground warfare.

Aside from the number of ships, in terms of total combat strength of the ships and the combat capabilities of the soldiers, the seasoned Imperial Fleet exceeded the Federation by a margin. The only thing the Federation could rely on was their sheer resolve.

Incredible, even in space the situation was so dire! If the space fleet were to fail, Miloke Star would be doomed! Russell’s decisive blow was both precise and brutal. Evidently, since the planning stages of the Federation’s Thunderbolt operation, he had been setting up this chain trap step by step. The retreat and assembly of ground forces, the plan’s failure to secure Bafoli Pass, the pursuit of ground forces, the attritional attacks on the Jialuo Mountain Battlefield, the accurate estimation of the Federation’s harassment fleet’s energy resources, all these factors interwoven, precisely calculating the counterattack timing, had given the Federation only a day’s response time. Such military command artistry was bone-chilling. From the outset, Russell’s mind had seen the entire situation as a nearly resolved chess game!

Tian Xingjian was deep in thought when the door suddenly opened, and Carl dragged him up, saying, ”The command center is holding a battle situation analysis meeting, Colonel Pat asked me to get you to the main conference room.”

The two hurried to the main conference room of the Combat Department, which was already packed with people. Almost every leading staff officer from each group in the Combat Department’s various research rooms had gathered here, and Fatty couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. The strenuous arrangements indicated that the command center’s previous meeting had not yielded definite results.

Usually, such battle situation analysis meetings were restricted to several generals and the heads of various research rooms; there had never been a precedent for expanding it. The research groups below were only responsible for analysis, simulations, and submitting battle plans. The final centralized review would be submitted to the command center, which would then issue orders based on the comprehensive conclusions drawn from these plans and simulations.

It appeared that the command center’s meeting couldn’t reach a conclusion, the scope of analysis was too broad, and they had no choice but to enlarge the meeting in hopes of finding the enemy’s hidden intentions through collective wisdom.

Arriving at the conference room’s door, Pat waved Carl away. The poor Carl had to give Fatty a meaningful look before reluctantly leaving, glancing back every step.

Seeing the director of the 6th Research Room come in with a lieutenant staff officer, the colonels and lieutenant colonels in the conference room exchanged glances.

As soon as Tian Xingjian entered the conference room, he froze. All the staff officers in the room disappeared in an instant, leaving only the woman sitting in the third position to the left of the circular meeting table, Ann Lei!

She was looking down at the documents, her silky long hair gently draping over her shoulder from her left ear, her expression focused and earnest. Her slightly bitten lips were just as beautiful and lovely as he remembered.

After standing there dazed for a moment, Tian Xingjian came to his senses and found a corner near the wall to sit down. From this position, he could easily gaze at the little girl he could never forget in his heart.

Admiral Bernadotte, presiding over the meeting, nodded at Tian Xingjian. Ignoring the whispers of the staff officers, he announced the start of the meeting.

The first to speak was Lieutenant Colonel Keren from the 2nd Research Room. Using a pen, he pointed to the virtual battle map in the middle of the circular meeting table and began his battle situation analysis.

To be selected for such an important battle situation analysis meeting, Keren appeared spirited. Flipping open the electronic documents on the table, he spoke loudly, ”Based on my analysis, the Gazalin Empire Army’s offensive momentum will not last until four in the afternoon. They are merely bluffing, intending to force our army to draw forces from other defense lines to reinforce the Jialuo Mountain Battlefield. This conclusion is derived from numerous simulations and current enemy force deployment intelligence. We have no reason to doubt the capability of our intelligence department. The Imperial Army needs to maintain sufficient offensive pressure to prevent the encircled Federation army from breaking through their line. Meanwhile, our space fleet has maintained space superiority over Miloke Planet prior to their attack; they couldn’t possibly redeploy forces from elsewhere.”

Before Keren finished speaking, the entire conference room erupted in a commotion. Staff officers from other research rooms demanded to speak one after another.

Bernadotte nodded and said, ”Since everyone has different opinions, let’s hear them out one by one, pooling our thoughts.”

With the admiral setting the tone for the meeting discussion, the staff officers no longer hesitated. Colonel Azibolt from the 1st Research Room was the first to stand and said, ”I completely disagree with Lieutenant Colonel Keren’s analysis. The frontline situation is already very clear. If our army does not immediately reinforce, the enemy will certainly break through the Jialuo Mountain defense line and advance towards Kato. The surrounding defensive troops of Kato have already been put into the Jialuo Mountain Battlefield. If the enemy seizes Kato, it would mean the enemy firmly grasping the strategic space of the entire Miloke Planet. The ten plus cities beyond Gallipalan and Kato will also be besieged by the enemy’s main forces. If that happens, the resistance war on Miloke Planet would completely fail.”

A staff officer from the 3rd Research Room stood up to support Colonel Azibolt’s opinion, particularly pointing out, ”The current frontline battle situation fully proves that the Gazalin Empire army has already received reinforcements. The sudden appearance of these reinforcements is due to the Federation Intelligence Department’s negligence, which is undoubtedly a dereliction of duty!”
