I’d ended up devouring the three demons since they were no longer responsive, their wills broken beyond repair, thus the satisfaction of seeing them hurt was no longer there...

I didn’t bother with the notifications that flooded my vision after devouring the three, I would check them out later, as for now, I was ready to finally pull the curtains on this little excursion.

I had gotten what I came for, slaughtered the filthy demons, and my clones were out there farming abominations efficiently, everything was already set, by the time I left this place, it wouldn’t be exaggerated to say I would’ve already increased my strength multiple times over...

”So, where to now?” I asked no one in particular.

”Don’t ask me...” the monkey was still upset it seems, nothing of his usual jovial personality showing up..

”You know, I think I like the sulking you better than the happy one, the place is more peaceful that way..” I snickered..

”You want a fight? Let’s fight..”

”I don’t think you’re quite ready for another beat down no?”

”Ughhh... and here I thought only your ugly mates were unreasonable, I see now why you fancy them, you’re all birds of the same feather..” the monkey groaned...

”Heh.. you always say my mates are ugly, like you can do any better?” I sneered..

”Humph, just wait till you visit my place, you’ll be knocked off your feet by the sheer abundance of beautiful women there..” I was really starting to doubt this guy’s aesthetic taste in women..

Who would look at Cara, Melissa, or any of the girls around me in fact and call them ugly? You’d either have seen an impossible goddess, though I doubt even goddesses could compare, or you’d need to have a few major screws loose to think that..

I was leaning heavily toward the latter outcome...

”Anyway, that doesn’t matter right now, what matters is getting enough to show that old man that we’re not playing around, I’m already tired of this outer court shenanigans and I’ve barely been here a week.. let’s go.” I took to the skies, the monkey right behind me, as our figures blurred into the distance, it was time to complete the hunt..

My eyes glazed over my updated status panel as I took in the newest additions..

It was actually jarring seeing demonic and celestial bloodlines coexist perfectly, forces that should’ve been antagonistic of each other, now being perfectly harmonized..

I could only marvel at the wonders of my Chaos Genesis bloodline and Chaos physique..

Their talents, while powerful, still lost in comparison to the supreme one I’d gotten from the celestial.

To think I would’ve been excited if I’d gotten those before the supreme one, they were exalted ranked after all, enough for one to be called a genius even within Aeternum, yet after seeing what a supreme tier talent could do, I’d lost the full enthusiasm I should’ve had, their worth having shifted in my perspective..

But the greatest takeaway from this whole expedition, my wings aside, has got to be the skills I got from the abominations..

Turns out, these special ability wielding abominations were quite rare, it’d taken the better part of the duration of the excursion just to find the other ones needed to upgrade the skills, turned out it took more than two of the same type exalted rank skills to rank the skill up, had to use most of the time we had to hunt down the others, it was a pain, but it was worth it..

But of all these things, one stood out like a brilliant shining star..

.

Yes. A mythical skill. I myself had thought my eyes were deceiving me when I saw it.

Thinking about that, I couldn’t help recalling my encounter with the... thing I’d gotten this from...

....

A few hours ago.

”So where do we go now?” I asked as me and Malachi flew through the skies..

We’d just finished taking care of another Colossalabomination, finally bringing my skill to the supreme rank, which was why I was currently in a very good mood..

”I don’t know, friend, there’s probably only a few hours left till.....” Malachi’s voice cut short there..

”Hmmm? Till what?.... Why did you... What the...” I turned towards him, curious why he’d suddenly stopped talking when my eyes widened at the sight before me...

”Blerrghhh” Malachi had a bone-white spear piercing from his back out through his chest..

”Monkey!!” I exclaimed as I rushed towards him, but before I could reach him, the spear had been withdrawn...

Cough.. cough...

”Hey... hey.. you good?” I asked as I held him steady.

He didn’t answer immediately, taking time to catch his breath before a halo of light flashed behind him, his wounds mending themselves instantly..

”Phew.. what was that?” He asked..

”I don’t know.....”

Puchi!!

My words got cut off as the feeling of my flesh being pierced registered in my head...

”Blerrghhh” just like Malachi earlier, the same bone-white spear had pierced me from the back, cleanly passing through my heart and coming out the front..

I looked down in utter disbelief..

”Wha..what?” I hadn’t seen anything..

I hadn’t heard anything..

One should know, with my talent, Abyssal Firmament Dominion, sneaking up on me was a very hard thing to accomplish, the Velociplex was a good example, the atmosphere would always alert me..

But this, it felt like the attack had just happened...

Chaotic denial worked fast, denying the outcome of my death as both me and Malachi instantly created distance from the ominous spear..

”What the fuck was that?” Again, the monkey was cussing, seems this place was getting to him..

”I don’t know, I’d like to find.... Watch out!!!” I tried to warn him, too late..

Puchi!

The Spear had gone through Malachi’s heart once more, his face going deathly pale as he coughed up another mouthful of blood..

”Damn it!!” I rushed towards the spear, only for it to withdraw immediately...

I stopped, spreading out my perception to the surrounding thousand meters around us, I didn’t believe anything was capable of hiding fro...

Zing!

”Ho.. how?” I watched in utter shock, the world spinning as my head was severed cleanly from my neck, the ominous spear hovering right behind my headless body...

”Fuck!!!!” The moment chaoticdenial kicked, I immediately took to the skies, wings flapping furiously...

”Alright buddy, you’re on now.” No more playing games, it was time to get serious..

I closed my eyes, mind syncing into the surroundings, waiting... waiting for the right moment...

ZING!!

The moment I felt the spear connect with my neck, intent on taking my head off once again, I whispered under my breath...

. And the world... froze..

”Finally, some time to.....” I couldn’t complete that sentence, because the world was tilting once more...

”Im...possible...” my head... had been severed...

Not just severed, it had been severed... in frozen time..

”Impossible!” It was my turn to finally experience what my enemies experienced whenever they faced me, because I couldn’t run, I couldn’t hide, I couldn’t dodge and now, even freezing time wasn’t doing anything...

”Just... what the hell is going on?” For the first time in a long while, I was shook, because things... things weren’t going as planned.....
