Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension

Chapter 174: Chapter 173:May the light be with you..

A/N: corrected the mistake in the earlier chaps..

CHAOS ENERGY TRANSFORMATION -> CHAOS ENERGY CONVERSION.

So for the inconveniences..

*********

Red...

That’s all I could see...

The crimson clouds of corrupted mana felt alive..

With the way they were twisting and churning constantly, it didn’t feel like something inactive but more like something with a mind of its own..

But before I could even begin trying to understand and get my head around where I’d spawn..

[CHAOS ENERGY CONVERSION technique activating...]

”Ahh shit.. not again...”

I was familiar with this script..

After all it was the first welcome I’d gotten when I first stepped foot on the central continent, to think it’d be happening again, smack dab in the middle of a twisted cloud of corrupted mana.

Was I worried about the corrupted mana entering my body? Hardly..

Mana, corrupted or otherwise, was merely still another variant of energy and with my chaos core in the mix, that worry would never be a possibility...

The surrounding crimson fog churned violently as my body turned into an energy vacuum..

The amount of energy flowing into me this time being many times more than what I’d needed to go from the E-rank to D-rank..

The tainted mana flowed through my body, my making the corrupting and poisonous nature of the energy as harmless as a fly as the technique guided the flow towards my chaoscore.

The moment the tainted mana got within proximity of the core, it was immediately absorbed by the core as it began expanding rapidly..

If there was one thing I’d come to realize about my ranking up, is that, the more concentrated the energy, the faster it became...

The core expanded from its original forty meter radius to once again double the size, reaching a staggering eighty meters..

Then began the natural cycle of compression and expansion, until the core eventually had enough..

CRACK!!!!!

The sound this time felt like it was audible even from outside..

My body shook violently as a pain unlike any I’ve ever felt before rocked through my entire body, Chaotic denial taking a huge chunk out of my recently increased energy capacity to make sure I didn’t exploded like an overfilled balloon...

With each new rank up, the stakes become raised, this one would’ve cost me dearly if I didn’t have chaoticdenial and enough energy, now I understood why the energy requirements were always absurd, they were a payoff for what happens when the core shatters...

The moment the core reformed, another torrent of energy flooded my being, instantly refilling my reserves and more...

Slowly, the core’s evolution finally came to an end, needless to say, it had become more beautiful.

The massive thing was a starless black, with innumerable points of lights within that seemed more and more like constellations and planetary bodies, I couldn’t help wondering what future evolutions would look like..

[Ding]

[You have ranked up successfully..]

[D -> C]

[All attributes raised by 15x..]

”Sigh... great... just great..” I was already a walking cheat, now I’d increased my already absurd attributes to even more insane levels..

I didn’t even bother to check, merely glossed over the numerous notifications about the extra experience points being added..

With the number of geniuses and monsters I’d killed over the course of the entrance exams, it was safe to say I won’t have to worry about experience points shortage anytime soon.

And with what I was planning on doing here, that worry would be even less..

Yes, killing humans also netted experience points and quite the large amount too, probably more than what you’d get from other races, twisted, I know, but what on terra wasn’t?

So, satisfied with the current surge of strength I’d just received, I finally had the chance to take a look around..

Thanks to my ranking up, the thick clouds of corrupted mana around me had thinned out significantly, finally allowing me a proper view of the place I’d spawned ..

Just like the outside, this place was filled nothing but death, carnage and desolation..

Yet what made this place all that more spine chilling were the bones..

Massive, enormous things belonging creatures I couldn’t even begin to understand..

I’d faced off against a Wyvern and a hundred foot Void-stargazer, yet just the bones of these creatures dwarfed those two monsters, they were that massive...

RUMBLEEEEEEEE.....

The entire place shook violently as my body swayed..

”Woah!” I planted my feet into the hard as metal earth to anchor myself...

RUMBLEEEEEEEE.....

There it was again, the same rumbling from before, only this time it felt closer?

RUMBLEEEEEE!!!!

The furious trembling of the earth only got worse as the trembling felt like it was moving towards me..

It didn’t take long before heavy, impossible steps reached my ears...

BOOOOMMM!!!!!

Each foot fall felt like a magnitude 10 earthquake in motion, with the impact increasing as whatever they belonged to got closer and closer..

The moment my eyes landed on the... thing that was approaching me, they widened..

”What.. the fuck is that?...”

.....

Voren stood silently as he looked towards the ominous portal ahead of him, hands clasped behind him as a soft smile played on his lips..

”My, my, I’ve got to say, little Elizabeth, how long are you going to keep trying to hide from this old man..” Voren spoke out to seemingly thin air..

...

...

The silence stretched for a moment, Voren not in any hurry to make a move, just when it looked like nothing was going to happen..

”Pooh... old man, can’t you let me have a win for once??” The air shifted as a white tear opened up, Elizabeth stepping out softly, her seductive, short figure wearing a pouting expression as she looked at Voren..

”Hahahahaha... little girl, I may be getting old but I’m far from being senile, you’re still a bit too young to think you can get one over this old man..” Voren laughed, stroking his beard with a fond expression on his face..

”Humph... that’s all you old men know how to do, bully the young.. undying cockroaches all of you, humph..” Elizabeth pouted as she crossed her arms and turned her back, giving the old man a cold shoulder...

”Hahahahahahahaha.....” Voren merely laughed, wild, free, amused...

A small smile graced Elizabeth’s face as she heard the old man laugh...

.....

....

”Hmm... I didn’t think you’d be smitten enough with that young child as to follow him even out here, what if you scare him off..” a silence settled between them before Voren’s question broke it..

”This.. I’m not stalking him.. I just thought you’d need back up if anything goes wrong.. yes.. that’s it..” Elizabeth tried defending herself..

”Back up, me? That’s what you’re going with? Besdes I never mentioned anything about you staking him did I? I merely asked what would happen if you scared him off?”

”This..”

”Hahahahaha....”

....

.....

Another silence settled between them, as they both watched the portal silently...

”You know he probably won’t be making it out of there alive right? None of them are, not if he gets to them.” This time it was Elizabeth’s voice that broke the silence and there was not an ounce of warmth within it..

”Sigh.... So you noticed it too huh? It seems that young man has placed his sights on the young heir candidate, I wonder why...” Voren sighed..

”The why doesn’t matter, what matters is what you’re going to do if Dante gets to them, will you make a move? I hear the church is pretty fond of this one since he’s the brother of that arrogant brat within the sanctum.”

”Hmmm? And what would you do if I said yes?”

”Then it would be a pity to live in a world where I can no longer hear your voice or laughter old man..”

”You’d go that far for someone you just saw a week ago?”

Silence was what greeted him...

”Haaa... I see...” Voren sighed..

”Well I guess you don’t have to worry about getting your hands dirty, I’m old now and I’ve already left the church and it’s affairs behind, whatever happens within that place is now left to their own personal strengths, whoever is weak enough to die, deserves it, simple as that.” Voren added indiffently..

A cheerful smile broke out on Elizabeth’s face as she clapped cheerfully...

”Great, I’m so glad I don’t have to take your colors old man, they’d probably taste nasty anyway..” she made a gagging gesture that just made Voren smile and shake his head..

”Sigh... little Uriah, may the light be with you, you’ll need it..”

Voren sighed internally as he focused once more on the swirling crimson portal, hoping yet knowing fully well what fate awaited the weak within such lawless lands..

”Heh.. so much for not being a liar and an optimist.”

A/N: Elizabeth followed our boy all the way here? Yea, I’m jumping ship, she’s my best girl now, Dante doesn’t deserve her...
