Chapter 1898: Family Time

Tang Shaoyang managed to finish the twelfth floor one hour before his promised time. He managed to pull out the floor boss after killing a lot of the sea beasts. That was when he found a unique type of floor boss, unique and a chore to kill.

The boss was a Shark Pack. It was called a Shark Pack, not a God Rank, but it brought thousands of other sharks with it. The Demi-God Rank Shark Pack was hiding behind its colony, and each time he killed the weaker shark that was part of the pack, the Demi-God Rank shark got stronger by absorbing the dead shark. Not only did it get stronger, it got bigger and bigger. By the time he finished the weaker sharks, it had become the size of an island, slightly bigger even.

The twelfth floor would be trouble for his people if they wanted to face the boss. He did not think that a group of a hundred Demi-God Ranks would be enough to fight this Shark Pack. Not because they were weak, but because they had to fight this shark underwater which naturally gave them a big disadvantage. Unless they figured out something to fight underwater.

[Do you want to go to the 13th floor? Yes/No?]

He thought of going to the thirteenth floor, checking out the floor, maybe for half an hour. However, he immediately threw away the idea. He was afraid that he might find something fun on the thirteenth floor that would make him forget time. Even though the chance for that to happen was just one percent he barely found anything fun between the first floor and the twelfth floor.

Tang Shaoyang exited the Dimensional Tower and notified Forlan and Hemlin after. Forlan had to leave the tower because of him, and Hemlin got kicked out because he tamed Gluttony.

He got an instant reply from both Guild Masters that they were already inside the tower. Apparently, Ophelius and Ophelia left the tower earlier as well as Gluttony. In fact, he realized that most of the God Ranks were out of the tower right now. Lunea also left earlier with Zhang Mengyao and Kang Xue, and Gluttony left the tower with Delia. With him leaving, only two God Ranks were inside the tower right now, Hemlin and Forlan.

Both Guild Masters stayed on the third floor, seemingly interested in the Adventurer Guild on the third floor. He told them about the third floor, and they were interested in the guild there, enough to make them stay there instead of climbing up. They asked him whether they could absorb the Adventure Guild on the third floor, and he had not given them a green light back then.

”We need more people…” Tang Shaoyang muttered as he walked off from the entrance of the dimensional tower.

That reminded him of the eleventh floor and the twelfth floor. He realized that the tower wanted the faction to build their own base or city for operation. It was similar to the first floor, but they had to build their own base from zero. After building the base, they would need the people to stay there and protect it while also protecting their workers. There were a lot of resources on the eleventh floor, more than the ones on the first floor.

Tang Shaoyang agreed, but he added that they needed to convince Zhang Mengyao and Li Shuang as well. After telling them his decision, he put away all the work thoughts in his mind to the back of his head and focused on his outing with his family.

On the way to the teleportation site, many recognized him, in fact, it seemed like everyone recognized him. His name was big, but not many knew his actual face. He was surprised to be recognized by these people. He could hear their whispers, most of them were in fear but some of them admired him. He was surprised that the foreigner would admire him. He thought all foreigners would hate him for what he had done. He just shook his head at that.

ʼDo you want to join too?ʼ It was the question for Avyn and Zara. Both were part of his family even though they were still a spirit.

Funny enough, he could sense a hesitation from Avyn. KankaraʼXeo was in a dilemma. She wanted to join, but she was afraid as well.

[Of course, we will join as well. Are we not part of the family?] Zara helped the shy ancient dragon. She used ”us” as she and Avyn.

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, ʼI never said that.ʼ He was about to summon them, but Zara stopped him hastily.

[No! Donʼt summon me now! I donʼt want to be a street clown!]

If he summoned Avyn and Zara now, they would surely steal his limelight. They would be the center of attention with how pretty they were. Especially Zara as it took time for her to hide her wings.

He arrived at the teleportation site which was heavily guarded by the United Sovereign. People were lining up to get into the teleportation site, and he joined the line. He might try to use his status to skip the line if he was in a hurry, but he still had one hour. That was what he thought until one of the guards approached him.

”Good morning, Sir.”

The guard greeted him politely.

”Good morning,” he responded with a nod.

”You are on our whitelist, Sir. You can enter the site without needing to wait, and you can use teleportation right away,” The guard did not lower his voice so everyone in the line heard him.

All attention was on him once more. Clearly, many of them were dissatisfied with the special treatment while they all had to wait in line just to enter the site.

”What is this whitelist?” Tang Shaoyang was curious.

”The whitelist is a list of people that could access The United Sovereignʼs public facility without queuing. Most of the people in the whitelist are the faction leader and the high-ranking officers for a certain faction!”

After hearing the explanation, the dissatisfied people immediately realized that Tang Shaoyang was not just ordinary people like them. They looked toward the person and their dissatisfaction disappeared from their faces. They recognized the man, the famed Emperor who killed twenty God Ranks in one fight, a short fight. No, it was not even a fight, it was a murder in the broad daylight.

”I see,” Tang Shaoyang left the line as the guard escorted him to the teleportation. He quickly noticed that all the guards in the teleportation site recognized him. Some of them seemed to dislike him, but he was surprised that most of them respected him as if he was part of the United Sovereign.

He shrugged and entered the portal gate that directly connected to his base. There was a pair of Tarrior on patrol on the other side, and they bowed their heads at his arrival.

”It seems a lot has happened outside…” For all those strangers to recognize him, something must have happened, something big. Maybe some of them recovered some of the tech and spread his picture.

Tang Shaoyang put all the useless thoughts aside as he immediately picked up his face, heading to the elevator. The image of his daughter made him subconsciously smile. He could not wait to meet his daughter. It had been five days. In fact, he was anxious and also afraid that his daughter might resent him. He had seven days off, and he did not spend that time with her.

The fear and the anxiety were growing as the number kept going up. He did not know he always felt like this each time he went home. He was even more nervous than fighting the emperor from the Void Cult.

Ding!

The elevator opened, arriving at his home. The hallway was empty as usual, but the silence was deafening for him. He walked slowly and arrived in front of the door, the door to where his daughter sleeps and eats.

He opened the door that directly connected to the living room. It was the place where his wives gathered, and there he saw his precious daughter, laughing while stroking a white cat. The white cat with thick, soft, and fluffy fur. Her laughter was like a melody to his ears.

Tang Xiulan immediately heard the opening door, and there she found her father, looking at her. She placed the white cat and ran toward him.

”DADDY!”

She had her hand in the air, running toward him with a big smile, her eyes were twinkling with joy, and she was fast for someone her age. Her small dragon followed her closely.

The anxiety and nervousness disappeared when he heard her daughter call him. He caught her daughter and immediately picked her up, kissing her on the forehead. Tang Xiulan also coiled her tiny hands around her fatherʼs neck and kissed his nose.

”Welcome home!”
