Chapter 1871  The Main Show?

Saul had one long hour of conversation with Fabian and Andrea. Even though he expressed his willingness to form an alliance or even join the Tang Empire, Fabian and Andrea disagreed with him. The two had an attachment to their guild, and they could not bear to leave it to join another force.

The moment they heard what their Guild Leader said, both were shocked. Once more, their Guild Leader made the decision without consulting them first. Saul did not mean to hurt them. He did so because he saw the chance and took it.

However, Tang Shaoyangʼs reaction surprised the trio as they saw Tang Shaoyang frown deeper, clearly not taking the proposal well. Saul was offering the best proposal for the Tang Empire, further expanding the Tang Empireʼs force. It was not even an alliance, but a vassal, and yet The Emperor seemed not to like the proposal.

”I understand you canʼt trust me with my words since this is our first meeting, but my proposal is genuine because of our guild circumstances. If you are willing to give me more time, I can explain the situation of our guild, and you will soon understand why I want to be your vassal.”

Saul was initially surprised, but he understood why The Emperor had such a reaction. He put himself in The Emperorʼs perspective, and he would feel suspicious instead of happy about receiving a surrender from a faction he did not know anything of.

”Before that, care to explain why the Etherna Alliance suddenly wants to make peace with us? I will listen to your explanation depending on your answer. If I detect a single lie, then there will be no further talk,” Tang Shaoyang was curious as to why the Fortuna Guild suddenly wanted to be his vassal.

Of course, he was not going to accept them or take their words at face value. He learned his lesson and would not repeat the same thing again.

”Ah…” Saul nodded understandingly, ”We have found out about your attack against the Valuer Empire, and we have our people watch Earth Area. Our people saw the people from the Valuer Empire, and after they returned from this area, you released the five thousand captives, including the God Rank you captured, and returned to the city.”

”We knew immediately that thereʼs something they knew about you that we didnʼt know, and that was when we found out your other identity, Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang.”

Saul stood up and bowed his head toward Tang Shaoyang. It was followed by Fabian and Andrea. Despite their annoyance toward their Guild Leader, they knew how to treat an Executive Administrator respectfully. Especially after they revealed The Emperorʼs identity, they must act with care and respect, not willing to offend the Executive Administrator in the slightest.

”For a small alliance like us, or even Animas Alliance. We donʼt have the courage to fight against the Executive Administrator. The Highland Guild, The Paevell Kingdom, and the Tislaris Kingdom which are part of the Etherna Alliance share the same sentiment with us. We want to apologize for the unjust treatment that your empire experienced before.”

That immediately clicked in his mind. That explained why the Valuer Empire and the Etherna Alliance changed. He honestly did not expect his name to spread this fast. It was two days ago that he received his promotion.

Tang Shaoyang let out a chuckle. He sometimes forgot that the Executive Administrator position would give him a lot of convenience, especially for something like this.

”Alright, now explain why you want to be my vassal.”

Saul took a deep breath, organizing his thoughts as he glanced at his trusted people. Fabian and Andrea had a resigned look on their faces. At this point, they could not say no in front of the Executive Administrator as it would come off as an offense. Tang Shaoyang might interpret their refusal as if becoming the Tang Empireʼs vassal was a poor choice.

The Fortuna Guildʼs Guild Leader then explained his guildʼs dire situation. It was not an exaggeration that The Fortuna Guild was in danger. Of course, he also told Tang Shaoyang that becoming the Tang Empireʼs vassal was one of his escapes from The Paevell Kingdom. He thought of joining a bigger faction, until he found out about the Tang Empire that was led by an Executive Administrator.

He did not hide that Tang Shaoyang was an Executive Administrator as the main factor for him to make such a decision. The fact that the Tang Empire was a new force in the God Realm was also the main factor, meaning the Fortuna Guild could become the core power of the Tang Empire. The chance for him to climb to a higher position in the Tang Empire was higher than any other big faction or big alliance in the God Realm.

Fabian and Andrea listened to their Guild Leader, and they slowly understood why their Guild Leader made such a decision. Of course, another factor was that they could produce an Administrator Class from their guild as well.

Tang Shaoyang got to know more about the Etherna Allianceʼs situation. The two factions in the Etherna Alliance wanted to merge and establish a new whole kingdom, The Kingdom of Etherna.

One of the factions was the Fortuna Guildʼs long-standing ally, and this long-standing ally had been putting a lot of spies in the Fortuna Guild, swaying their members to join the new kingdom. Which was the reason why Saul wanted to be a vassal instead of an equal ally. He was aware that he would lose half of his guildʼs force the moment he left the Etherna Alliance.

The story sounded believable, and his Absolute Sense picked up Saulʼs genuine emotion. Tang Shaoyang was eighty percent sure that the man was not lying.

”Thatʼs right, we are looking for a place to escape from Etherna, and thatʼs the reason why I agree to be your vassal. We have to escape from Etherna before everything is too late. I want a safe place for my people.”

Tang Shaoyang rubbed his chin, he could have made the decision right away, but he did not do so, ”And I want to make sure you donʼt bring any danger to my people, so I canʼt give you an answer right now. You canʼt expect me to believe everything you said, right?”

”I understand, and I am willing to do anything within my capability to gain your trust. Tell me what to do, then I will do my best to achieve it,” Saul did not say ”we”, meaning he would work by himself to obtain Tang Shaoyangʼs trust.

”I donʼt know. Arenʼt you supposed to figure out yourself how to gain my trust? Just because you do what I asked, doesnʼt mean you gain my trust. It means you are being obedient, but will I trust you that you will not harm my people?” Tang Shaoyang shook his head.

Saul took a deep breath and nodded his head as he opened his eyes. He expected the talk would not go as smoothly as he thought.

”Trust is built over time, and I am afraid we donʼt have that much time to gain your trust, ” Executive Administrator Tang Shaoyang. The first thing I will do is to establish a contract and also an oath, and in exchange, I wish you to grant us a safe place for my people to migrate.”

”I will consider your offer, and you will hear my answer at the latest in five days. We will continue to discuss your last proposal,” Tang Shaoyang nodded, ”Then do you have the contract for our agreement?”

”Ah, yes!” Fabian took out two scrolls that were already signed by all representatives from the Etherna Alliance. It only required Tang Shaoyangʼs blood and signature for the contract to be in effect.

Tang Shaoyang signed the contract and dropped his blood on top of his signature. A temporary alliance between the Etherna Alliance and the Tang Empire formed, but that was only between the Etherna Alliance and the Tang Empire. The contract did not apply to the other two forces, but they must have their own agreement with how they treated the Earth Alliance.

Saul and Tang Shaoyang shook hands, ”I hope our next discussion will be smooth like this, Sir.”

Tang Shaoyang was about to reply, but he received a message from TEID titled [URGENT]. He opened the message and frowned, ”I have an urgent matter to take care of.”

Saul, Fabian, and Andrea exchanged glances. Three of them could feel the change in Tang Shaoyangʼs aura even though it was just for a moment. They could tell that Tang Shaoyang seemed to be angry over something.

The three were about to leave as well, wanting to investigate what happened until a young man in black entered the room.

Lu An looked disappointed, ”I am here to escort you out from Earth Area. Can you make haste please?”

Saul did not know who the young man was, but Fabian and Andrea knew. The young man was one of the strongest in the Tang Empire, but he was not a God Rank yet. Being treated like this by a Demi-God Rank upset the two after what they had gone through in such a short time.

”May I know what happened for The Emperor to leave so quickly? If you tell me, then I will leave this place as quickly as possible,” Saul smiled.

”Some fools tried to sneak twenty God Ranks into our world and anger His Majesty. Can you leave now? Or else I donʼt get to watch the fight,” Lu An was excited at the thought of watching Tang Shaoyang fight the God Ranks.

Saul, Fabian, and Andrea exchanged glances once more. They had a guess who tried to sneak into Earth, the Gondar Alliance. Saul was worried when he heard the number, twenty God Ranks against six God Ranks. The number did not favor the Tang Empire, and Saul looked at the situation as a golden chance to gain The Executive Administratorʼs trust.

”We are willing to fight alongside His Majesty Tang Shaoyang!” Saul immediately said, to his surprise, the young man gave him a chuckle and a side-eye.

”Just so you know, you are lucky that you came here so quickly because His Majesty is about to attack your resource points. He is ready to take twenty God Ranks from your alliance, what makes you think he needs your help to fight the twenty God Ranks from the Gondar Alliance?”

Lu An shook his head, ”Can you leave now, please? I donʼt want to be left behind and miss the fight. I havenʼt seen him fighting a God Rank before,” He muttered the last part.

Saul only remembered that Tang Shaoyang indeed did not need his help. He forgot that Tang Shaoyang was an Executive Administrator. If the rumor was true, twenty God Ranks should not be enough to take down an Executive Administrator.
