Alchemy Master

Chapter 298, The Person in Black Robes

Translator: Silavin

With the arrival of Princess Xia Zilin, Xu Yuanming lost all interest in arguing with Liang Hongshen. Instead, he immediately started whispering to Xu Siyao’s ear.

It was probably about performing well to win the Seventh Princess’s favour and etc…

Even if the Seventh Princess was not favoured in the Royal Family, she was still of Royal Bloodline and had the Royal Family’s Martial Soul. If someone could marry her, it would undoubtedly elevate their Family’s prestige.

Naturally, Xu Yuanming was not the only one with such intentions; most people probably thought the same.

“How is it, are you confident?”  Liang Hongshen asked Qin Yichen quietly beside him.

“I’ll do my best.” Qin Yichen smiled.

“Good!” Liang Hongshen took a deep breath, then led Qin Yichen toward the registration area.

The person doing the registering was actually an Earl. Moreover, he was within the Royal Family, and had certain prestige and status in Twilight City.

“Thousand Mist Empire’s Viscount Liang Hongshen?” The slightly plump Earl picked up Liang Hongshen’s Medal, registering while glancing at the two people before him with slightly raised eyes.

“Yes.” Liang Hongshen dared not offend this Earl, pointed to Qin Yichen beside him and said, “This is my recommended candidate.”

“Qin Yichen, from the Northern Region of Thousand Mist Empire, eighteen years old?” When registering this information, the plump Earl was quite surprised and raised his head to look at Qin Yichen.

There were very few eighteen-year-olds who had participated in previous Martial Arts Tournaments. A true rarity. It was no wonder he was surprised.

“Are you absolutely sure?” His gaze turned to Liang Hongshen, and after Liang Hongshen nodded, he registered Qin Yichen.

“So you’re Qin Yichen?” At this moment, a voice came from the side, making Liang Hongshen and Qin Yichen look over.

It was a middle-aged man, with a cold-faced young man in his twenties beside him.

However, when Liang Hongshen saw that middle-aged man, his expression immediately changed.

“Liang Hongshen, you’re getting more and more daring, even defying my Li Family!” The middle-aged man berated Liang Hongshen without courtesy, though his gaze mainly fell on Qin Yichen.

“I recall that according to the laws of the Grand Empire, Nobles only need to obey the Royal Family… Could it be that your Li Family wants to replace the Royal Family?” Qin Yichen’s words immediately made the arrogant middle-aged man’s expression change.

His words were undeniably cutting to the core.

However, the middle-aged man’s earlier words had indeed been too presumptuous. It was truly over taking the Royal Family’s authority.

“You impudent brat, how dare you spout such nonsense!” He was enraged, and a massive aura spread from his body toward Qin Yichen.

*Hmph!* Liang Hongshen snorted, standing in front of Qin Yichen to block this wave of pressure.

Since they had already offended the Li Family, he did not mind offending them once more.

Although the Li Family was powerful, at most they could only suppress his Liang Family. They could not do much else to him. Furthermore, the Liang Family, when in the Thousand Mist Empire, had no room to fall further.

The plump Earl raised his head and glanced indifferently at the middle-aged man without speaking. Nevertheless, the middle-aged man withdrew his aura.

The Earl handed a Jade Token to Qin Yichen, “Go in.”

“Number 142.” After receiving his number, Qin Yichen nodded to Liang Hongshen and walked toward the passage without acknowledging the ashen-faced middle-aged man.

At this time, the Martial Arts Tournament had not started yet, and all participants were in the same waiting room.

Princess Xia Zilin was also there.

She was currently sitting cross-legged in a corner, meditating. Several people wanted to go greet her, but she did not even lift her eyelids. This made them awkwardly retreat.

Qin Yichen had no acquaintances here. After scanning the situation inside, he also found a quiet place to sit and wait for the Martial Arts Tournament to begin.

However, shortly after he sat down, he felt two hostile gazes fall upon him.

One was Xu Siyao. The other was the cold-faced youth who had been standing beside the Li Family middle-aged man earlier. If there was no mistake, he should be Li Aofeng of the Li Family.

[Twenty-eight years old, an Early Stage Martial King…]

Moreover, Li Aofeng was not raised on Pills and medicine. It was said he had entered an ancient ruin and obtained its inheritance. Since then, he had begun to shine brilliantly in Twilight City.

Although he might not be the number one of the younger generation in the Grand Empire in terms of cultivation, in terms of strength, he could probably rank at least in top three.

[He sure is a formidable opponent!] Just one look at Li Aofeng and Qin Yichen could already tell. Currently, there was still quite a large gap between him and Li Aofeng if he wanted to contend against him.

Although Li Aofeng had not personally come to provoke him, his cold gaze let Qin Yichen understand that he absolutely would not show any mercy.

“Oh?” It was because of looking at Li Aofeng that Qin Yichen noticed a figure completely shrouded in black robes.

Because this figure was entirely covered by black robes, Qin Yichen could not see this figure’s appearance, but he sensed a special aura from them.

Although they concealed it very well, Qin Yichen was extremely sensitive in terms of his Spiritual Energy, which he often used to perceive his surroundings. Thus, he managed to detect it.

[That aura… it is both powerful, and very… evil. Just who is that?] Qin Yichen was puzzled. In Liang Hongshen’s description, there seemed to be no mention of such a person. However, in his eyes, this black-robed person’s strength was no less than Li Aofeng’s!

Seemingly sensing Qin Yichen’s gaze, the black-robed person slightly turned their head to look over, and Qin Yichen gave them a friendly smile.

Regardless of who the black-robed person was, it would be fine as long as they were not enemies.

However, the black-robed person merely glanced at him, showing no intention of accepting his friendly greeting.

[What a strange person.] Qin Yichen rubbed his nose bridge, curious about how this person would perform in the Martial Arts Tournament.

*Dong!…* By morning, as a bell toll resonated throughout the city, the Martial Arts Tournament officially began.

The huge arena that could accommodate hundreds of thousands was now completely packed with great clamour.

Around Qin Yichen, young geniuses all appeared very excited and eager to try. They clearly saw the Martial Arts Tournament as an opportunity to make a name for themselves.

Indeed, just being able to stand on the Martial Arts Tournament’s arena already meant that they would definitely break through to the Martial King Realm in the future.

Even if they were not from Noble families, as long as they performed outstandingly, they would all receive recruitment offers from the Major Forces of Twilight City.

[So, it’s finally beginning…] After walking out of the waiting room, feeling the dazzling sunlight shining from the sky, Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed.
