Chapter 261, Sky Reaching Behemoth

“They’re coming!” muttered Yang Quan after landing, having just consumed a Pill.

The Demonic Beast Army created a suffocating pressure on those at the defensive line, even before they got close.

Yang Quan quickly swallowed two more Pills, trying to recover at his fastest speed. However, the consecutive use of his White Sparrow Martial Soul had greatly depleted him. Even with the Pills, it would take him at least half an hour to recover. It would be impossible for him to launch another attack as powerful as the one before.

*ROAR!* At this moment, from far away, the Beast King’s roar sounded again, even louder, causing the Demonic Beasts before the defensive line to become even more frenzied, their beast eyes turning blood-red.

*Boom! Boom!*

As if to crush the will of everyone on the third defensive line, the figure of a beast as large as a mountain appeared on the horizon, accompanied by the trembling of the earth. At the same time, a murderous aura swept forth – even from such a distance. It caused everyone’s skin to break out in goosebumps.

“It’s the Beast King… the Sky Reaching Behemoth! How did it get out?!”

“Wasn’t it sealed away by the Empire’s experts?”

Seeing the side of this Beast King, countless people’s faces turned pale.

The Sky Reaching Behemoth was the king of not just the Black Demon Mountain Range, but the entire Thousand Mist Empire. Regarding its true form, there were only rumors saying this Sky Reaching Behemoth was birthed from the Black Demon Mountain Range – that had been formed from a Black Qilin. As for whether this was true, no one had ever been able to verify it.

In previous Ten Thousand Beast Tides, although each was brutal, this Beast King had never appeared. No matter how many Human experts tried to block it or how many Demonic Beasts died, it had never stepped out of the Black Demon Mountain Range.

Yet, this suddenly triggered Beast Tide had caused the Beast King to personally appear. This was simply a force that was impossible to resist.

Upon seeing that Beast King in the distance, Yang Quan’s expression also turned ugly. Let alone in his current weakened state, even at full strength, he would have little to no chance of defeating this Beast King. Moreover, in front of the Beast King were several Demonic Beasts with overwhelming auras, clearly at Peak Spirit Realm.

“So that’s the Beast King…” Qin Yichen muttered as he gazed at the enormous Beast King in the distance.

For some unknown reason, he had a vaguely familiar feeling in his heart. This aura was extremely familiar to him, but for the moment, he could not recall where he had encountered it before.

“Elder… Elder Yang…” The eyes of the Zhao Family Patriarch and others looked pleadingly at Yang Quan. If the Beast King had not appeared, perhaps they could have held the solid third defensive line for some time. But before the Sky Reaching Behemoth, their supposedly impregnable walls would be completely useless.

Yang Quan closed his eyes painfully at the gazes of the Zhao Family Patriarch and the others.

Not retreating would certainly result in heavy losses among the experts on the defensive line, eventually leading to its collapse.

Retreating would mean the Northern Region’s Central Province, even the entire Thousand Mist Empire, would run with rivers of blood. The Thousand Mist Empire that had finally recovered after thousands of years of healing. Yet now, it would surely return to having no people, no households, for tens of thousands of years…

*Boom!*

With the trembling of the city walls, the Beast King drew ever closer, until everyone could see the solid scales on this cloud-reaching behemoth.

“Prepare to retreat…” Finally, after a painful decision, Yang Quan sighed and heavily declared.

He knew this command would bring catastrophic disaster to countless kingdoms behind the defensive line. Countless Families would be destroyed, and vast territories would become places where Demonic Beasts ran rampant.

But under the threat of this Beast King, there was no other choice.

Soon, the experts divided into several groups following the various Millennial Families. Around Qin Yichen and the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce experts, many other experts had gathered, clearly viewing the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce forces led by Qin Yichen as a core group after the bitter fight.

Yang Quan’s gaze swept over the experts, now reduced to half their original numbers. At this point, almost all the experts were covered in blood, exhausted, with weak auras.

When Yang Quan’s gaze fell on the forces behind Qin Yichen, his pupils suddenly contracted.

Because he discovered that although the auras of those behind Qin Yichen were somewhat weak, compared to the experts beside the Millennial Families, they were undoubtedly much better off. Clearly, they still had strength left to continue.

[Did they slack off earlier?] This thought flashed through Yang Quan’s mind but was immediately rejected. Those experts’ blood-covered appearances could not possibly be faked.

There was only one possibility – the Pills used by Qin Yichen’s subordinates were better than those used by the Millennial Families’ experts.

“This guy…” Yang Quan glanced at Qin Yichen, then looked into the distance.

“Everyone retreat, I’ll hold off the Demonic Beasts!” Yang Quan took a deep breath, and powerful Yuan Energy fluctuations surged around him again. However, the keener observers could detect a hint of strain in these fluctuations.

“Elder Yang, take these Pills, they should help you somewhat.” Just as Yang Quan was preparing to risk his life to block them, Qin Yichen’s voice suddenly sounded beside him. When Yang Quan looked over, he saw Qin Yichen taking out a Pill bottle from his robes and handing it over.

Yang Quan knew a thing or two about the Pills from the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce. After all, they had been causing such a stir lately. However, he also knew those Pills were only effective for Martial Grandmasters and below. Could they really work for him, who exceeded the Spirit Realm?

However, there was no room for doubt right now. Yang Quan opened the pill bottle. Immediately, a Pill fragrance that made his spirit rise wafted out.

Tilting the bottle, a jade-green Pill rolled out. That rich pill fragrance seemed to have already driven away half of his fatigue.

“This…” Yang Quan’s body trembled slightly, then he somewhat eagerly swallowed the Pill. The Pill dissolved instantly upon entering his mouth, transforming into a warm current flowing down.

In this moment, Yang Quan felt as if every cell in his body was crying out greedily, continuously absorbing the medicinal properties of this Pill.

As Yang Quan’s Cultivation Technique operated, the energy in the air rapidly swept toward him, and was greedily devoured by his body.

“This… this is amazing!” In less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, his depleted Yuan Energy had recovered by more than half. Yang Quan hurriedly put away the bottle with its few remaining Pills, looking somewhat guiltily at Qin Yichen, as if afraid the latter would ask for it back.
