Chapter 263, Root of the Beast Tide

Translator: Silavin

“Suomi xili!” A strange phrase came from Qin Yichen’s mouth.

While everyone was confused about his intention, something unexpected happened.

The originally fierce Sky Reaching Behemoth, its eyes full of killing intent, showed a Human-like flash of surprise. Then, its giant paw stopped just one meter before Qin Yichen.

It lowered its head, looking at the ant-like Human figure, its eyes filled with confusion. Then, a rough phrase also came from its mouth, “Qi…Yihua…Li?”

*Phew…* Seeing its response, Qin Yichen finally let out a sigh of relief.

The gamble paid off.

He had spoken in Ancient Beast Language.

If this Sky Reaching Behemoth truly was created from the Blood Essence of a Black Qilin, with its inherited memories, it would definitely understand the Ancient Beast Language.

He had said ‘stop’ in Ancient Beast Language.

Hearing the language from deep in its memories, the Sky Reaching Behemoth instinctively stopped and asked… “Who are you?”

It could not understand how or why this Human knew of the Ancient Beast Language.

Of course, this was just momentary confusion. Soon enough, a terrifying aura directly locked onto Qin Yichen, murderous energy rolling forth in waves.

Under this aura, Qin Yichen felt like a thousand mountains were pressing down on him. He was unable to even move a finger, let alone escape.

“Walisuomixi…” Ancient Beast Language – ‘I can help you’

No one in the Thousand Mist Empire, or even the entire nation, understood why this Beast Tide was happening, but Qin Yichen knew.

What the Sky Reaching Behemoth cared about was the inheritance. Before finding the lost inheritance, this Beast Tide would not stop.

“Piqu…” Ancient Beast Language – ‘inheritance’.

*Roar!* Hearing this word, the Sky Reaching Behemoth suddenly roared, scattering the surrounding clouds. Nearby Humans and Demonic Beasts were sent flying.

Yang Quan and others watched with pounding hearts, their hearts in their throats.

But in this situation, even Yang Quan was unable to help out at all.

Self-preservation was already difficult enough, let alone rescuing Qin Yichen from the Sky Reaching Behemoth.

However, what shocked them was that they discovered Qin Yichen was actually communicating with the Sky Reaching Behemoth!

This was something they would not dare to imagine, yet Qin Yichen was doing it.

[This boy seems capable of anything…] Even Yang Quan had such a thought in his mind.

What followed was the dialogue between Qin Yichen and the Sky Reaching Behemoth…

“Human, you cannot stop me from reclaiming my inheritance!” The Sky Reaching Behemoth’s voice was violent and arrogant. After all, it had the power to do as it liked!

The Thousand Mist Empire’s so-called three defensive lines were as fragile as tofu before it.

“We have no intention of stopping you.” Under the immense pressure of the Sky Reaching Behemoth, Qin Yichen struggled to communicate with it.

If his Physique had not broken through to the Spirit Realm, he would not have been able to endure. Even so, his feet had already sunk into the hard stone slabs of the third defensive line.

“I can help you find your inheritance, but I need some time…” Experiencing the Sky Reaching Behemoth’s might at such close range, Qin Yichen became more certain of the guess in his mind. [Xiao Bai! The Sky Reaching Behemoth’s form is just too similar to Xiao Bai. Just that the Sky Reaching Behemoth is much larger than Xiao Bai.]

Qin Yichen had always wondered how Xiao Bai came to be. If it was birthed from Death Energy, then why did Xiao Bai have no interest in the Spirit Pearls of Death Spirit?

Logically, if Xiao Bai was birthed from Death Energy, Spirit Pearls should have been greatly nourishing to it.

This was the first doubt.

Furthermore, why did large-scale massacre occur in the Northern Wasteland? What were they really fighting for?

Even if an entire city was destroyed, it was just one city. How did it become the Death Zone?

This was the second doubt.

Suppose the Black Qilin’s head fell in the Northern Wasteland back then…

Then everything seemed to have a reasonable explanation.

Only the head of a ferocious creature like the Black Qilin could spawn such a dangerous land.

Xiao Bai must have come from the Black Qilin’s Essence, Soul, or aura. Regardless, Xiao Bai came to existence and then absorbed the Northern Wasteland’s Death Energy, which is why it possessed such strong killing intent and potent Death Energy Attribute.

Moreover, most importantly, there was now a perfect explanation for why this Ten Thousand Beast Tide came early.

Because Xiao Bai was brought out from the Northern Wasteland’s seal by Qin Yichen, the Sky Reaching Behemoth sensed Xiao Bai’s aura, which was why the Beast Tide came directly toward the Northern Region.

“I don’t need help from ants, I will reclaim the inheritance myself!” The Sky Reaching Behemoth’s voice was like thunder, echoing throughout Heaven and Earth, declaring its pride.

With just a stomp of its foot, all under Heaven seemed to tremble. All Demonic Beasts prostrated themselves, and in the distance, Human experts’ faces turned ashen.

Yang Quan, the Zhao Family Patriarch… all had their hearts in their throats.

Qin Yichen bore the brunt of it – his clothes hung on him like rags, his body covered in bloody marks, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

Just the pressure alone was too much for him to bear.

The might of the Sky Reaching Behemoth was absolutely unstoppable.

For so many years, the Sky Reaching Behemoth had never appeared, perhaps because it could not locate where its inheritance was.

Though each of its Ten Thousand Beast Tide was repelled, more or less some Demonic Beasts would enter the Thousand Mist Empire territory. Their purpose was to find the inheritance’s location.

“Have you wondered why you can never sense where the inheritance is?” Qin Yichen gritted his teeth, still standing straight.

The Sky Reaching Behemoth fell into brief silence. This was also why it had not directly crushed the ant before it.

Though it was unmatched, it could not communicate with the Humans. If something went wrong again this time, it did not want to wait any longer.

“You’ve waited so long already, can’t you wait three more days?” Seeing its silence, Qin Yichen added.

After their dialogue, the Sky Reaching Behemoth disappeared, and so did Qin Yichen…

No one knew where they went, but the Demonic Beast Army stood before the third defensive line, staring vigilantly, making no one dare to lower their guard.

Yang Quan frowned deeply.

Though he could not understand the conversation between Qin Yichen and the Sky Reaching Behemoth, he could guess that Qin Yichen must have reached some sort of agreement with it.

The Demonic Beast Army had not retreated yet, which meant Qin Yichen was still in danger.

“That foolish boy, why did he have to show off?” Yang Quan could not understand why Qin Yichen had stepped forward.

Even so, undoubtedly, Qin Yichen had saved everyone. Otherwise, almost no one would have survived.

They all clearly saw how Yang Quan could not withstand a single blow by the Sky Reaching Behemoth.

On the defensive line, everyone undoubtedly developed goodwill toward Qin Yichen, and wished for his well being.
