Alchemy Master

Chapter 130, Lu Heze’s Frustration

Translator: Silavin

Some medicinal herbs have complementary properties, while others would conflict and were antagonistic.

An excellent Alchemy Master must understand this point.

This competition was to send a peerless genius to the Alchemy Tower to get assessed. It was not for the person who best blindly follows formulas.

An Alchemy Master who only knows how to follow formulas was an Alchemy Master without ambition, whose lifetime achievements were set and fixed, with little room for improvement.

Watching the scenes of exploding furnaces, Master Gu Ye on the main platform had a flash of disappointment in his eyes.

The reason he took Zhou Tianwei as his personal disciple was firstly because her talent was excellent. Secondly, Zhou Tianwei viewed fame and fortune lightly. She was not like the children of other Families, obsessed with the pursuit of power.

Soon, those who should be eliminated had their furnaces explode and could only leave the field in confusion and reluctance.

Over a hundred Alchemy Masters, after two rounds, were reduced to less than ten.

Even among the four on the high platform, one person had left.

It must be said that although Wang Muyu was arrogant and domineering, he was still capable. He had at least successfully refined a Pill.

However, what displeased him was that Qin Yichen had once again managed to scrape through!

As the second round neared its end, in the audience seats, the person Lu Heshang had sent to gather information had also returned. After all, the previous incident with the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce had caused quite a stir. Thus, it did not take long to check.

Although not many people here had seen Qin Yichen in person, they all knew more or less about the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce affair.

“What, you’re saying that kid is the one from the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce?” Lu Heshang lost his composure, his eyes full of astonishment.

News that Master Gu Ye and Zhou Tianwei were cooperating with an obscure small Business Alliance had already spread like wildfire in the Royal City. Some speculated that the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce was just lucky. While others believed that Master Gu Ye had developed a new formula and wanted to make some profit, so he randomly chose a Business Alliance.

“According to the information this subordinate obtained, he should be acquainted with Young Master Zhou Tianwei of the Zhou Family.”

The person respectfully replied.

“You mean to say that the formulas for those new Pills from the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce were provided by that kid?”

Lu Heshang raised his eyebrows.

“If it wasn’t so, with the Zhou Family’s Young Master involved, how could they let the benefits flow to outsiders…”

Lu Heshang fell silent.

Like most people, he had initially thought that Master Gu Ye was the one leading the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce incident, but now, it seemed that it was the youth standing on that blue stone high platform.

“This matter has become a bit troublesome…” Lu Heshang opened his mouth, his brows furrowing.

If it was just Zhou Tianwei involved, even with the Zhou Family’s backing, they would still yield three steps to him. But Master Gu Ye was different. That old man with his peculiar temper would definitely point at his nose and scold him, then drive him out of the Royal City Alchemy Guild.

“It seems we can only make him willingly come to us.” Lu Heshang’s eyes flickered, lost in thought, not even noticing when Lu Heze arrived.

The third and final round of the competition had arrived, and he, as the King, naturally had to make an appearance.

However, his mood recently has not been very good.

Deep inside the Royal Palace, for some unknown reason, strange insects and beasts had been appearing in his living quarters recently. In his bed, in his food bowl, on his desk… almost every corner had traces of various unknown insects, making him unable to eat or sleep peacefully.

Lu Heze had never hated insects as much as he did now! What particularly confused him was that his Cloud Leopard, which pulled his carriage, had even bitten him when he passed by, catching him off guard.

It was as if all insects and beasts viewed him as an enemy!

He did not know what was happening until one day, when Lu Heze saw that strange little girl. Lu Linghan’s Daughter, whom she had named… Ling’er because she had not given her a surname.

Little Ling’er walked through the flower beds, butterflies dancing around her, insects and ants making way for her.

She passed by the pond, and the fish in the pool circled around her. Even the fierce beasts in the Royal Palace that had not been tamed yet became extremely docile when they saw her.

At that moment, Lu Heze understood that it was this little one’s way of taking revenge on him.

However, he did not care about these things. What he cared about was Little Ling’er’s innate ability.

It was too terrifying. His Cloud Leopard was at the second level of Peak Stage Martial Grandmaster Realm, yet it could be controlled by her. This was simply… indescribable.

It was definitely strange.

So, Lu Heze tried every means to please Little Ling’er.

But…

Little Ling’er completely ignored him, with a face full of disdain.

Therefore, Lu Heze’s mood now was at an all time low.

“If there’s something troubling you, say it out loud. Let me enjoy your tale.”

Seeing Lu Heshang’s worried face, he sat down beside him.

In front of this Royal Brother, he did not put on any airs of status.

*Haaaaaiz….* Lu Heshang glanced at him listlessly, then said, “The Business Alliance is about to be gone, and you still have the mood to joke around?”

*Cough cough…*

Lu Heze, who had originally wanted to alleviate his gloomy mood, almost spat out the mouthful of tea he had just drunk. Even so, he choked on the tea, then glared at him, “What nonsense are you talking about, how could the Business Alliance be gone?!”

“In the future, the kingdom’s Business Alliances will probably all be monopolised by that kid.” Lu Heshang pointed at Qin Yichen on the blue stone high platform.

“This kid… which Family is he from?”

Lu Heze had knowledge on all the outstanding younger generations of the Four Major Families, but this youth before him was very unfamiliar.

“I don’t know where he came from either, but his abilities are great…”

After saying this, Lu Heshang proceeded to explain the situation with the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce one by one.

“Compound Pill?!” Lu Heze was too shocked to speak. As the ruler of a country, he knew all too well the value of the Pill that Qin Yichen had introduced.

Add to that the Qi Bursting Pill.

These two types of Pills, if promoted to countries at war…

“Does my Royal Brother still think he does not have the ability to monopolise the kingdom’s economy?”

Lu Heze fell silent.

It was not just monopolising the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty’s economy. Once these Pills were promoted to the public, who would want other Pills?!

“Royal Brother, I’m sure you know that this kind of person is not someone we can control. The only hope is to turn him into… one of our own.”

Lu Heshang raised his eyebrows at him, drawing out the last three words.

He only had one Son, so naturally, he could not turn Qin Yichen into one of his own.

However, Lu Heze had several Princesses…

“You rascal, you’ve even calculated all of this!” Lu Heze immediately understood his intention, then stood up and snorted, “The Business Alliance is your business to run. I only manage state affairs!”

After saying this, he walked towards the main platform.
