Alchemy Master

Chapter 118, Extorting

Translator: Silavin

For someone of Gu Ye’s stature, wealth and power no longer held much allure. He was already standing at the pinnacle of the entire dynasty’s World of Alchemy!

Qin Yichen was well aware of this, which is why he did this.

“It’s an honour for our Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce that Master Gu Ye is willing to join!” Although Qin Yichen felt a bit of pain over the 10% percent profit share he would be giving away, he still forced a smile on his face. The people around, however, were almost petrified, each standing there like wooden chickens.

What did they just see!? Master Gu Ye was actually going to join an insignificant small business like Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce!?

Originally, Master Gu Ye’s appearance alone would have been a great honour for any company. After all, even the four Major Families did not receive such treatment. Thus, they never expected Master Gu Ye would actually join the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce!

At this moment, countless people were in disarray. They were about to witness a new star rising in the Royal City!

It could be said that as long as Master Gu Ye and Zhou Tianwei were there for a day, the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce would not decline.

“Big Sister, Big Sister, did you hear that? Master Gu Ye is going to join our Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce!” Shu Xin shook her Big Sister, her face full of excitement, her joy evident.

Finally, no one would be able to bully her Big Sister anymore! She did not care about how the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce was doing; she only hoped that her Sister could be happy.

“En.” Shu Ruyan nodded, but her voice trembled. As a merchant, she naturally understood what Master Gu Ye joining represented.

No matter what, companies did not dare to compete with the four Major Families for profits. When dealing with the four Major Families, they could only choose to step back. But now, the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce had gained the qualification to stand on equal footing with the four Major Families!

All of this felt like a dream! No, even in her dreams, Shu Ruyan could not have imagined that Master Gu Ye would join them.

“Alas, it’s a pity that the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce is in its initial stages now, and our funds are a bit lacking. We can barely afford to buy medicinal herbs…” While everyone was still in shock, Qin Yichen was sighing and lamenting in front of Master Gu Ye, recounting the various injustices and difficulties their Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce had encountered.

However, all in all, what he wanted to say was… ‘I’m very poor, don’t think about taking a share of the profits for free, you better invest!’

He was extorting Master Gu Ye!

The onlookers were all numb. They wondered if there was any justice in this world!?

Even the Royal Family would have to pay a great price to have Master Gu Ye concoct some Pills, but this guy actually dared to extort Master Gu Ye!? They all wished a bolt of lightning would strike down from the sky and kill him.

In his eyes, was Master Gu Ye’s reputation worth less than some medicinal herbs!?

Nearly three thousand people looked at Qin Yichen with resentful faces. They all wished they could welcome Master Gu Ye into the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce on Qin Yichen’s behalf and worship him like a god.

The experienced Master Gu Ye naturally understood his meaning. He immediately smiled and said, “As long as Young Friend can satisfy my needs, you don’t need to worry about medicinal herbs.”

“Master Gu Ye is truly reasonable, unlike some people who just want to reap without sowing!” Qin Yichen first bowed to Gu Ye, then led Gu Ye towards the Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce’s Medicine Shop.

Zhou Tianwei, who was beside Gu Ye, seemed to have been intentionally or unintentionally forgotten.

Zhou Tianwei could only smile bitterly at this. [Seems like that guy is extremely unwilling to give out that 10% profit share, and is constantly thinking about taking it back.]

“Brother Zhou, don’t you agree?” Suddenly, Qin Yichen, who was walking in front, stopped and asked him an abrupt question.

“Ah? What, oh, yes yes…” Seeing Qin Yichen looking at him with a smile, Zhou Tianwei was momentarily stunned, then confusedly agreed.

“Sigh, our Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce is small and humble. I hope you can get used to resting in our little Medicine Shop.” Qin Yichen gave Zhou Tianwei a meaningful look, sighed, and continued to lead Master Gu Ye forward.

“Uh…” Zhou Tianwei finally understood what he was trying to do. The corner of his mouth twitched, and he coughed lightly before saying, “Well, Brother Qin, I have a few good shops on the commercial street in the Royal City that are currently empty. Why don’t we move there tomorrow?”

“Ah! Brother Zhou, how can you be so generous… Haha!”

Qin Yichen, who was originally walking, suddenly stopped again, turned around, and gave Zhou Tianwei a big hug with a smile, “I truly didn’t misjudge you, my good Brother!”

However, as soon as he made contact, that soft yet firm body immediately made Qin Yichen’s face suddenly change, as if he remembered something. His body immediately bounced back. He pretended as if nothing had happened and continued forward.

However, Zhou Tianwei was caught off guard by his hug. Although it was very brief, this guy had stolen her first hug from the opposite sex!

If looks could kill, Qin Yichen would have been riddled with holes by now.

“You…” Zhou Tianwei was gritting her teeth, but she found that she really could not do anything about him. In the end, she could only sigh and helplessly follow behind the two of them.

However, a flash of redness still passed across her face. After all, she was still a woman at the end of the day.

When the three of them arrived at the entrance of the Medicine Shop, Shu Ruyan had already prepared tables and chairs. She had even brought hot tea.

“Master, Brother Zhou, please sit down and rest for a moment.” Qin Yichen did not dare to look up at Zhou Tianwei. After cupping his hands towards Master Gu Ye, he turned towards the onlookers.

As he looked over, the originally noisy crowd quieted down.

At this moment, in everyone’s eyes looking at Qin Yichen, there was no longer any trace of contempt. Instead, there was deep curiosity and admiration. Even if they racked their brains, they could not figure out how this teenager of just over ten years old had managed to accomplish such impossible feats.

At the same time, they also began to speculate about Qin Yichen’s identity. All sorts of theories came up, from foreign dignitaries to the King’s illegitimate Son, and all kinds of nonsense.

“Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend the new Pill release conference of our Soaring Joy Chamber Of Commerce…” Qin Yichen cleared his throat before addressing the crowd, “I won’t say much in the way of formalities. Today, one of the new Pills we’re releasing is… the Yuan Healing Pill!”

“Yuan Healing Pill?” Not just these people, even Master Gu Ye looked at him in confusion. After all, they had never heard of this Pill before, let alone know the effects of this ‘Yuan Healing Pill’.
