Alchemy Master

Chapter 113, Mama

Translator: Silavin

In Princess Lu Linghan’s palace, around Lu Linghan’s bed, there were standing palace maids and kneeling palace maids. Overall, over a dozen people. They were all staring in astonishment at the scene before them.

A small baby was lying on Lu Linghan’s chest, suckling vigorously.

Lu Linghan felt shy at first. Perhaps because it was a child from her own body, she could not bear to push the baby away. But when the baby started suckling, she felt a mysterious energy being absorbed from her body by the baby.

She thought it was just her imagination at first, but what happened next made her eyes widen in shock.

*Burp…* After suckling for a while, the baby seemed to be full. The baby leaned against her chest and let out a big, satisfied burp.

A visible glow enveloped the baby’s tiny body, lifting her into the air. The baby’s small frame began to grow…

That was right, grow!

In just a few short minutes, a newborn infant had grown into a three or four-year-old little girl!

As if responding to some call, the strange women’s clothing that Lu Linghan had brought out from the Ancient Divine Temple floated out of the wardrobe, then attached itself to the little girl, gradually shrinking to become a fitting seven-coloured dress!

The scene was breathtakingly beautiful.

The little girl’s skin was whiter than milk, with big eyes, a delicate nose, full lips, and adorable slightly curly hair, forming a naturally beautiful picture.

Suddenly, she opened her eyes. Her delicate mouth held a faint smile, like an angel, innocent and pure. Her large, bright eyes revealed intense curiosity as she surveyed the world around her.

All the palace maids there were captivated, their eyes full of stars. If Lu Linghan had not been present, they would have wanted to pinch the little girl’s slightly chubby cheeks.

She was just… too cute, too adorable!

Even Lu Linghan’s heart melted.

Looking at this little girl, Lu Linghan felt no more worry, no more fear. What she felt was something she did not even understand herself… maternal love.

“Mama…” The little girl adorably wrinkled her cute, crystal-clear little nose, then locked her big eyes on Lu Linghan, happily crawling onto her with a wobble. Her babyish voice instantly melted Lu Linghan’s heart.

“Hehe.” Lu Linghan’s face broke into a radiant smile as she held the girl in her arms, looking at the little girl’s rosy face with complete satisfaction.

At this moment, she forgot who she was, forgot what she was about to face. At this moment, she was just this little girl’s Mother.

“His Majesty the King has arrived!” Just then, a voice like a duck’s quack announced from the palace entrance.

In the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, King Lu Heze of the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty strode in angrily from outside.

However, at this moment, the more than a dozen palace maids, including Lu Linghan, did not notice his arrival. They were all captivated by the little girl.

“You wicked creature! You really dared to give birth!?”  After entering, Lu Heze’s first words were a rebuke to Lu Linghan, “Where is that bastard? Hand that thing over quickly!”

He was truly livid! If it had just been rumours of pregnancy, it could have been covered up completely, but giving birth was another matter entirely.

Which Family would be willing to accept a woman with a child!?

Hearing his angry roar, all the palace maids trembled violently, coming to their senses and quickly kneeling in salute, not daring to raise their heads.

“Father!?” When Lu Linghan saw him, she was startled for a moment, then quickly hid the little girl behind her back.

Seeing her action, Lu Heze frowned. However, he only glanced at the little girl peeking out from behind Lu Linghan, curiously staring at him, then swept his gaze around the room. Not finding any infant, he immediately shouted again, “Where is that bastard? Where have you hidden it!?”

Faced with her furious Father, Lu Linghan did not respond, but bit her lip and remained silent.

“Speak!” Lu Heze stepped forward, raising his hand ready to slap her, but seeing Lu Linghan’s pale and weak face, his hand stopped mid-air.

After all, she was his most beloved Daughter!

In fact, he had always been thinking of Lu Linghan’s best interests, wanting to find the most excellent man in the kingdom to be her Husband. He just could not understand why his Daughter refused to appreciate his efforts and constantly opposed him.

Just then, something unexpected even to Lu Linghan occurred…

The little girl who had been hidden behind her stepped out. With one hand on her hip and the other pointing at Lu Heze, she pouted and said in her childish voice, “Bad person, don’t bully my Mother!”

Perhaps it was an illusion, but Lu Heze felt as if the entire space shook, and an inexplicable sense of threat spread from the depths of his heart.

However, this feeling lasted only for an instant before dissipating, leaving him unable to comprehend what just happened.

“Must be my imagination?”

Lu Heze’s gaze fell on the little girl. For some reason, looking at her puffed-up appearance, he could not help but want to pinch her rosy little cheeks.

If it had been anyone else daring to point at his nose and scold him, he would have lost his temper long ago. But faced with this innocent little girl, he really could not get angry. He did not even feel a hint of rage.

*Ahem…* Seeing Lu Linghan nervously protecting the little girl, Lu Heze coughed dryly, then turned his gaze back to Lu Linghan, “Will you speak or not?!”

After a moment, he seemed to see something in his Daughter’s expression.

“Could it be…” Lu Heze quickly turned around, looking at the group of trembling palace maids. Finally, his pupils dilated slightly as his gaze fell on the little girl wearing the seven-coloured dress.

“Mama, I don’t like him. Make him go away…” The little girl tugged at Lu Linghan, looking at Lu Heze with distaste.

Instantly, Lu Heze was left bewildered. Although he wanted to apply some unpleasant words to the little girl, for some reason… he could not bring himself to do it.

Perhaps because there was a bit of blood relation involved between them.

Lu Heze tried several times to speak harshly, but each time, the words merely reached his lips but he would always swallow them back.

*Haaaaaa…* He sighed, looking at the pair before him, a hint of hidden worry flashing in his eyes.

Perhaps Lu Linghan’s marriage was no longer up to him.

News had come from the Du Family that Du Junxiong had been noticed by an Elder of a mighty Sect in the Central Province and had been taken in as a personal disciple. His status now was extraordinary.

Furthermore Du Junxiong would be returning to the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty soon, saying he wanted to marry Lu Linghan!
