Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 1016, Magma Sky Devouring Python

Those meteorite storms dealt extremely High Damage.

The first time Situ Family members came to explore, they did not understand this rule. So, they flew up high to survey the terrain and got attacked by the meteorite storm.

Among everyone present, only Situ Hengxing, the Sixth Profession Player was fine. All the others got injured, and even one Fifth Profession Player, perished beneath those meteorites.

When Lu Fan first heard about this, he felt that if Situ Hengxing could survive amidst that meteorite storm, then with his own Attributes, he should be able to ignore the meteorites and fly up to survey the terrain without issue.

With his Attributes, he should be able to Tank those meteorites.

However, considering that if he really did fly up, the accompanying members would likely all perish. So, Lu Fan had no intention of doing so.

After all, the Situ Family members and other Ancient Noble Family members were not his enemies. He had no reason to bring harm upon them.

He was not some good samaritan, who would pay too high a price to save others when they encountered trouble. At most, he would lend a hand if convenient. But under the current circumstances, it was better to bring these people along and treat them as strangers while they probed the Flaming Hell Dungeon Instance.

Because of the Situ Family’s prior warning, even though the terrain here was complex, no one courted death by flying up to view the Map’s full layout.

The Situ Family had already entered this place twice before, so they had mapped out some routes through portions of the Map.

They were quite familiar with the path ahead.

Situ Ying directly led from the front, with other Situ Family members behind him, including Situ Hengxing.

Further back came Lu Fan and the other Ancient Noble Family members who had come along to explore.

After walking for just a short while, everyone felt unbearably hot. They began retrieving the Potions the Situ Family had distributed earlier to consume, using them to dispel the Burning Debuff on their bodies while recovering.

The temperature here was far higher than in the Situ Family’s Dungeon Instance.

Only the temperature achievable in that Dungeon Instance’s late stages matched that of the heat here upon first entering.

This meant that just being in this environment was gruelling. Many felt they seemed to have overestimated their Fire Element Resistance.

From the timing of Potion consumption, one could also see that everyone’s strength was actually fairly evenly matched.

Only Situ Hengxing walked at the back with his hands clasped behind him, appearing completely unaffected, showing no intention whatsoever of consuming a Potion.

Apart from him, only Lu Fan and Ye Wuxian could remain calm and composed.

Lu Fan’s Resistance was high enough that no matter how intense the temperature, it meant nothing to him.

Ye Wuxian benefited from Lu Fan’s care. He continuously released cold air through Winter Aura to cool her down.

As for the others, Lu Fan had no reason to help them, lest it drew expectations onto him. Therefore, even if someone noticed the discrepancy, they could not criticise Lu Fan for anything.

Lu Fan was strong and could manage himself. That was because of his strength. Why should he bear responsibility for caring for everyone, when each person was here to gain essentially the same thing?

Those who could stay here should stay. Those who truly could not bear it should leave.

The Situ Family had explained this point previously.

After advancing for approximately half an hour without encountering any Monsters, the temperature had grown increasingly hot, reaching a level where even Situ Hengxing found it somewhat difficult to withstand.

He finally retrieved a Potion and tilted his head back to gulp it down, using it to resist the high temperature.

After drinking the potion, he glanced again at Lu Fan, who was chatting and laughing with Ye Wuxian. A flash of astonishment crossed his eyes, but he said nothing further.

After another near half-hour, everyone’s advancing steps were finally blocked by a Monster.

It was a Monster formed from congealed magma. It was a massive python seemingly made of magma over twenty metres long.

They were conceived and formed from magma flowing across the ground, with Levels reaching 150!

Fourth Profession was at Level 90, Fifth Profession was at Level 120, Sixth Profession was at Level 150!

In other words, this Monster already possessed power on par with a Sixth Profession Player.

Therefore, although it was merely an Elite Monster, to everyone present, it was a formidable enemy.

After all, while everyone was at least a Fifth Profession Player, only the strongest few were around Level 140. In fact, only one person had reached Level 146, and this was the highest Levelled Fifth Profession Player among everyone present.

Facing a Monster whose Level exceeded their own, everyone treated it as a grave threat, drawing weapons and preparing to deploy Skills to eliminate this behemoth.

However, Situ Hengxing moved even faster.

With a flick of his hand, an extremely slender iron sword appeared.

This iron sword was incredibly flexible, like a spring, but one could tell from its quality that this was a Legendary Grade item; even amongst Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Families, it was a supreme treasure meant to protect the Family.

As his weapon appeared, afterimages manifested around Situ Hengxing’s body. With merely a few sounds of the air breaking, he had already consecutively executed seven sword strikes.

Seven sword energies burst forth simultaneously, slashing toward the Monster called Magma Sky Devouring Python.

In just an instant, the Magma Sky Devouring Python’s body was divided into several sections, reverting to magma that flowed back to the ground.

Directly taking down a Level 150 Elite Monster with lightning speed. This display of strength left all the Players present utterly shocked. No wonder Situ Hengxing had already made his name years ago. With such strength, very few amongst Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Families could be his match.

“Let’s continue forward.” Situ Hengxing finally spoke aloud, his voice ethereal and weak, appearing extremely frail. It was completely different from his performance when instantly killed the Monster moments ago, making it impossible to connect the two personas.

He slowly sheathed his sword, allowing the soft blade to wrap around his waist and transform into a belt.

“Further ahead, more Monsters will appear. They will only be stronger than this Magma Sky Devouring Python, not weaker. When that happens, we’ll need your assistance.”

Everyone voiced their agreement, stating that since they had come to help explore, they would naturally contribute their share of effort.

Before everyone could finish expressing their commitment, several nearby magma patches suddenly had their flow exhibiting abnormal phenomena. They were no longer flowing according to terrain but instead flowing upward, assembling together to form Monsters one after another.

Amongst them were two Magma Sky Devouring Pythons, three Magma Sky Pegasi, and several other types of Monsters.

Though the Monster species differed with varying Attributes, all were Level 150 with formidable strength.

Seeing so many Monsters appear, Situ Hengxing coughed twice and sighed. “Why are there even more Monsters this time compared to before?”

Silavin: So many loopholes in the plot.

‘Among everyone present, only Situ Hengxing, the Sixth Profession Player, survived. All the other Fourth Profession Players, and even two Fifth Profession Players, perished beneath those meteorites.’

When were there supposed to be Fourth Profession Players? They were supposed to send their strongest experts. BTW, I can’t use two here, due to the later Chapters.
