Chapter 940: Chapter 336: Aerial Combat (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_2

If Bright Star is really destroyed, such a tragedy will inevitably be uncovered, so rather than that, it’s better to let the Federation join in.

Although the other side will have a better understanding of the Empire’s strengths and weaknesses, the same goes for us. We can also take a look at what new things the Federation has developed in the past two years.

“Fererela, Edward, let the Federation intervene as well,” said Victor.

“It’ll be a good opportunity to see what these Federation folks are relying on.”

“Let the Federation join?”

The Duke of Minter and Admiral Edward exchanged a glance and then looked pleased.

For them, the top priority is to swiftly eliminate this massive threat.

“Yes, deploy all the Griffin Knights. Oh, and gather all the small airships! Even though they don’t have airships as large as theirs, we need to create a show of force,” added Duke Victor.

“Uh… there are only two small airships at the moment; the others are executing missions and are already on their routes. It will take several hours at least to gather some of them.”

…

Meanwhile.

In the receiving hall.

“Are you aware of the situation?” Trena turned her head to ask the adjutant.

“Yes, basically understood. It’s said that a Corrupted Giant Dragon is headed towards Bright Star, destroying several small towns along the way.”

“A Corrupted Giant Dragon? That’s not easy to deal with,” a Federal Major General nearby whispered.

“Can we handle it?” Trena asked, her face calm.

“It’s not a big problem.”

“That’s good, an excellent chance to show the Empire our strength. Come, I’ll speak to Duke Victor again,” the beautiful Trena said, standing up.

“Hm? Special Envoy, won’t this expose our strength?”

“Don’t forget, we are here to negotiate. Showing strength aids better negotiation,” she couldn’t help but laugh.

…

In a corner of the same receiving hall.

“Lord Rein, emergency mission, you need to depart immediately. Admiral Edward is already waiting on the military airship,” a capable-looking, anxious matron said as she approached Rein.

“Hm? So urgent?” Rein raised an eyebrow.

Depart immediately?

This was the first time Rein encountered such an urgent mission.

But then, Rein thought of something, “Wait a moment…”

“Yes, Lord Rein, we just received an urgent intel. The details will be explained later by Admiral Edward on the airship,” Olena quickly said.

“Alright, let’s go,” Rein said, getting up.

…

A few minutes later.

“Edward, who are we still waiting for?” Duke Victor asked with a displeased expression.

“Oh, I just called a Diamond Star Swordman from the branch; he should arrive soon,” Edward said, slightly apologetic.

“Against a dragon, even a Diamond Star Swordman might not be of much use.”

“This…” Admiral Edward thought of the previous instances when Rein was able to turn the tide, hesitated for a moment, and nodded.

“Duke Victor, I’m also familiar with the young man Edward mentioned. He is someone who can create miracles, and he has just been appointed as the chief security advisor by the Minter Administrative Department,” the Duke of Minter explained.

At this moment, Rein, accompanied by Olena, conveniently boarded the airship.

“Hm? Is it really him?” Duke Victor looked skeptically at the two beside him, clearly not convinced.

So young?

How could his strength be significant? Maybe just someone with connections?

But even if Duke Victor had suspicions in his heart, he wouldn’t say anything openly.

….

Inside the cabin, Admiral Edward quickly and succinctly introduced the situation.

“Just now, we received urgent intel.”

“…The Sealing Gate on the Dragon’s Fang Mountain has broken; an ancient Corrupted Giant Dragon has attacked several small towns along the way and is heading towards Bright County.”

“What! A dragon?” The Griffin Knights and several Diamond Star Swordmen present were all shocked.

Even Rein squinted his eyes, quite taken aback.

Though he had known some information from the Dragon’s Fang Mountain area before, supposedly it was the Black Sword team sent to scout a suspect Sealing Gate mine, he did not expect such explosive news to come from it now.

“Silence! The Imperial City should send reinforcement soon, so our objective this time is to try and disrupt the opponent, preventing them from attacking Bright County with ease.”

“At least, we need to buy time for the residents of Bright County to evacuate.”

….

A few hours later, as the airship arrived near Bright County.

Both the Empire and the Federation could see from the airship that Bright County Town was already in chaos. A Giant Dragon, tens of meters in size, was rampaging over the town.

Simultaneously, several thousand monsters of various sizes were battling with the town’s garrison. But with the Corrupted Giant Dragon leading the charge, the battle was almost one-sided.

At this moment, the situation was already precarious.

“Let’s have the Griffin Knights go first and try to find the opponent’s weak point,” Duke Victor said gravely as he observed the scene before him.

As a Duke of the Imperial City with rich combat experience and the envoy for this occasion, Duke Victor unhesitatingly took on the role of the battle commander. Next to him, Duke of Minter and Admiral Edward were responsible for deploying and coordinating forces.

“Understood, Duke Victor,” the captain of the Griffin Knights said with a slight bow.

With a sharp whistle, led by him and Viscount Felk, a total of two teams comprising twenty-four Imperial Griffin Knights formed two straight lines and charged swiftly towards the Corrupted Giant Dragon.
