Chapter 783: Chapter 296: Job Change and Intelligence (Two-in-One Chapter)_4

Without hesitation, Reine immediately decided to start the job change!

“Yes!”

[Ding! Job Change to Great Armor Forger (Transcendent) successful! Strength +2, Constitution +2, Spirit +3! Acquired core skill of Great Armor Forger: Inscription Mastery (Passive).]

“Huh?”

“Another crafting core skill?”

Reine couldn’t help but remember the previous Armor Forger’s ‘Armor Forging Expertise (Passive)’, and now with ‘Inscription Mastery (Passive)’, he almost had a complete set of core skills for producing plate armor.

[Core Skill: Inscription Mastery (Passive)]

Effect of Inscription Mastery (Passive): Greatly increases the success rate when engraving inscriptions on armor.

“Looks like even if I just open a blacksmith shop in the future, I could make a fortune…”

With the assistance of the ‘Inscription Mastery’ core skill, Reine once again began to engrave inscriptions, as if divinely assisted!

The speed of making the Mithril Engraved Plate Armor increased manifold!

Finally, as dusk approached.

Reine successfully raised his Profession Level of Great Armor Forger (Transcendent) to lv4 (3/1000), and gained another 3 Skill Points and 3 attribute points.

Following the investment of 3 Skill Points, the casting time of the wizardry ‘Metal Barrier’ was further compressed, needing only 0.25 seconds to cast, comparable to innate wizardry!

It should be noted that a normal wizard would probably need decades of arduous training to achieve this effect, training in that one wizardry alone.

Even with the relatively longer lifespans of wizards, this was almost an impossible feat.

After all, too many things could drain a wizard’s limited energy and time.

…

“Knock, knock, knock!”

At this moment, a knocking sound came from the door!

Reine opened the door to see a slightly plump middle-aged man with a receding hairline standing outside, smiling broadly.

“Lord Reine, hello, let me introduce myself. I am Colin, the Deputy Minister of Intelligence Affairs, meeting you for the first time.”

After hearing from Olena, Colin immediately brightened, and took action right away.

After owing Olena a big favor, he then earned the opportunity to report directly to Lord Reine alone.

After all, who wouldn’t love to flatter a future Legendary powerhouse?

“Deputy Minister Colin, hello, please come in,” Reine reacted immediately, recognizing this must be the Colin Olena had mentioned.

The two sat down in the living room, and Reine pressed a bell.

A servant girl in maid attire respectfully brought in tea and refreshments, then quickly departed.

“Lord Reine, based on the clue you provided, we have obtained information about the three individuals from the Imperial City.”

“The three are part of the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps, led by their captain Asimov, who is a force attached to the Yakesen Auction House and has a particularly close relationship with the Marquis of Orenz family.”

“The captain, Asimov, is a rare descendant of a mutant bloodline.”

“A descendant of a mutant bloodline?” Reine mused upon hearing these words.

“Yes, Asimov was once a noble descendant with a diluted bloodline that could not awaken. As a youth, his progress towards becoming a formal wizard was not smooth. Later, he voluntarily became the subject of his mentor’s bloodline fusion experiment, and against all odds, the experiment succeeded.”

“He instantly turned on his mentor and, after investigating, he discovered that he had integrated the essence of troll blood, thereby gaining the innate ability ‘Frenzy’—a power to cast spells rapidly.”

“This is also why they are known as the Bloodtop Mercenary Corps.”

Reine nodded his head.

He had come across information about these Ancient Giant Trolls before.

It is said that this troll clan has not been exterminated and that some remnants still exist in remote areas rarely traversed by people.

Their innate ability ‘Frenzy’ is to accelerate spell casting, which is a different path from condensing syllables.

In simple terms, after the enemy deployed “Frenzy”, they were extremely quick-tongued, relying on their rapid speech.

Of course, the trolls of today are vastly different in strength from the Ancient Giant Trolls; otherwise, the Olena family wouldn’t cling so tenaciously to the Ancient Giant Trolls’ fangs.

At this moment, Colin handed a stack of materials to Rein.

“Moreover, in terms of strength, the three of them are no less than the captains of the golden-level Sword Bearers, and even Asimov, the leader of the Bloodtop Corps, would not be outdone when compared to the diamond-star captains,”

“In addition, I would like to remind Lord Reine to be extremely cautious, as all three of them possess special innate abilities.”

Innate abilities?

Like myself?

Interesting.

Rein narrowed his eyes.

He opened the stack of materials Colin had given him and started to read through them closely:

“Iron Man, real name unknown, arrived from the Eagle Federation three years ago, right hand is a metal prosthetic, skilled in short-spear throwing, shield defense.”

“Yes, Lord Reine, this muscular shield-bearer often gives a misleading impression. In fact, there is an array of short spears on the inside of his shield, which he uses only after transforming through his bloodline,” Colin glanced at the materials in Rein’s hands and added.

“If one is not aware of this, they could be caught off guard at the start of combat and suffer a disadvantage,”

Rein nodded.

Indeed, a moment of distraction in battle could give the enemy the upper hand, leading to a passive position.

“Scorpion Woman, real name unknown, bloodline talents include agility and deadly poison, skilled in witchcraft such as Wind Blade and Venom Bomb, proficient in bandaging and herbal healing.”

“Asimov, leader of the Bloodtop Corps, Second-level Liquidization Wizard, has merged with the essence of Bloodtop troll blood; the whole mercenary corps is named after him, and his displayed abilities seem to be skilled in Fire Sorcery…”

Colin once again supplemented, “Asimov has acted several times, but he has never left any survivors. So, he must have some sort of trump card.”

“Additionally, the fact that all three of them are taking action at the same time is a rare occurrence; it seems they consider you a formidable enemy, Lord Reine.”

Reine nodded.

From the appearance of the three, a normal assessment would be that the muscular man is the type for storming fortresses and leading charges, while the Scorpion Woman is likely agile, suited for assassinations or controlling the field.

And Asimov would be the squad’s ‘heavy gunner’.

But now, based on intelligence, except for Asimov probably being the ‘heavy gunner,’ the other two are completely different from their external appearances.

Interesting.

Reine once again realized the benefits of ‘it’s good to lean on a big tree for shade’.

“Lord Reine, if you need any information in the future, you may contact me directly.”

“Of course, you can also contact Lady Olena,” Colin added after a moment’s thought.

“Then thank you, Colin,” Reine said.

…

Not long after, Reine, accompanied by Viery, left the Sword Bearers Branch and headed for his residence.

Having not returned yesterday, it was naturally time to go home today.

The main purpose was to instruct his family that for the next few days, they should try not to go out as much as possible.

And just as Reine and Viery had barely left the Sword Bearers Branch,

a few individuals from the auction house disguised as surveillance personnel smiled with pleasure and immediately released pigeons to send their reports.

A few minutes later,

inside a room on the second floor of the Yakesen Auction House Mingster branch,

“Tsk tsk, who would’ve thought we could take action today!” The Scorpion Woman said with a pleased expression, flicking a piece of paper to the others.
