When She Stops Being Dramatic

Chapter 461: Chapter 162: The Green Tea Female Side Character in a Period Novel (49)

Jiang Yihua nodded. ”Exactly. An event like this is all about raking in money and building connections.”

”We can’t let those profits flow to outsiders. Why would we let Jiang Zishi get a piece of the action?”

Chi Yun’er counted on her fingers. ”Actually, we don’t have to limit the auction to just flowers; we can sell other things too. I heard this investment drive is a huge deal. There are nearly a thousand people coming to Xiahua, and none of them are short on cash.”

”They’re coming here to invest because they’re looking for a profitable return. It’s unthinkable that they’d set foot in Xiahua and not open their wallets.”

Jiang Yihua chuckled and gently tapped her on the nose. ”Honey, just you wait for my good news!”

The flower shop was completely cleared out. Chi Yun’er had her staff give it a thorough cleaning before completely restocking it.

Her family had leased a plot of mountain land in the suburbs where they grew a wide variety of flowers and plants. Batch after batch of Jiang Yihua’s students helped tend to them, and as a result, they grew to be exceptionally beautiful and vibrant.

Chi Yun’er didn’t go to the hotel herself. Instead, she sent an experienced employee in her place. The employee would receive a daily subsidy of one hundred yuan and could keep any tips they received.

Although Jiang Zishi had specifically requested her by name and even offered a ten-thousand-yuan service fee plus another ten thousand in compensation for the shop, she had only agreed to take the money. She never said she’d go herself.

’As for why the employee wasn’t getting that ten-thousand-yuan daily service fee... well, I’m not a pair of rich, clueless suckers like Jiang Zishi and Bian Yumin.’

’An employee’s pay should be proportional to their work. A hundred yuan a day is already top-tier.’

’He can either refuse the offer or let himself be won over by whatever sweet promises Jiang Zishi and Bian Yumin might make.’

Jiang Yihua moved quickly. The very next day, before Jiang Zishi and Bian Yumin could even begin their unhurried planning, his organization sent out a wide-ranging invitation to the investment delegation and all flower enthusiasts in the Capital City to attend the Kyoto Science and Technology Park Flower Festival.

The festival would feature authentic Xiahua cuisine, special performances, acrobatics, a public fair, and an auction of rare and valuable flowers.

Moreover, there was a five-day window for vendors to apply for a spot.

Chi Yun’er, eager to join the fun, gathered a group of her friends to participate as well.

Despite the rushed timeline, the flower festival kicked off at the city stadium, bolstered by a massive advertising campaign.

The festival was scheduled to last for ten days. For the first three days, it was exclusively for foreign guests and VIPs, opening to the general public on the fourth day.

Over the past few years, Sisheng Street had become quite famous, but it had to take a backseat to the new flower festival.

The stadium had been newly expanded within the last two years, and Chi Yun’er had even participated in the design of the main building. Her name was engraved on the statue at the entrance.

The sports complex was immense, containing facilities for many common sports and, most impressively, a stadium with a capacity of sixty thousand people!

Now, the entire sports complex looked like a harbinger of summer, adorned with all sorts of flowers and plants.

Intricate patterns and even words, cleverly formed from stacks of colorful plants, left visitors absolutely stunned. They couldn’t stop nodding in approval and giving thumbs-ups.

The array of activities—food stalls, acrobatics, ring toss, pitch-pot, shooting galleries, costume rentals, float parades, and more—was overwhelming. The foreign guests, in particular, who had never experienced a traditional fair, were having the time of their lives and wished they could move in permanently.

The ring toss was especially addictive. Fifty yuan for a whole basket of bamboo-wound rings seemed incredibly cheap to them. After all, wasn’t that just six Pounds?

For that price, you got a ton of rings, and the prizes on display at the booth were numerous and of surprisingly good quality.

There were embroidered sachets, decorative knots with tassels, bamboo flutes, calligraphy brushes, cloth shoes with multilayered soles...
