Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3236: Chapter 3237: Dizziness

Luigi spread his palm open, revealing a very peculiar-looking fruit. It appeared like an apple with a pointed bottom, but its surface was covered with spiral patterns.

Angel was not unfamiliar with this fruit, as it was one of the items sold by the parrot.

Its name: Sharp Fruit.

It’s the fruit of the Sacred Tree cultivated by the Sharp People Tribe in the Druna Plane. Eating the Sharp Fruit bestows incredible power.

Different Sharp Fruits grant different abilities. The Sharp Fruit sold by the parrot was cultivated by the Beast Language Prophet from the Hundred Beasts Tribe.

Its effect isn’t particularly special among Sharp Fruits, but at this moment, it’s very fitting: it allows beasts incapable of speaking to gain the ability to speak.

Even if Knockby hasn’t learned to speak, it’s fine. Just give it a Sharp Fruit, and it can overcome the vocal barrier.

Angel was taken aback for a moment and curiously asked, ”Did you buy this specifically for Knockby?”

Luigi waggled his finger back and forth: ”No, it was the parrot who, upon learning that I was buying Knockby, voluntarily gave it to me.”

Luigi was proudly showing off.

Gifted? Angel thought from the parrot’s perspective and understood his intentions.

The parrot’s wish is to leave the Mirror Domain. Currently, the only ones who can help him are Luigi and his group. Even though they have a contract, uncertainties always exist until they leave the Mirror Domain.

Especially for someone like the parrot, who is adept at calculating, it’s reasonable to suspect the worst in human nature. He’s very worried about unforeseen changes leading to a reversal on their side.

To appease them, it’s normal for the parrot to make a sacrifice.

Moreover, it’s just a Sharp Fruit, which itself doesn’t have astonishing effects, and can only be given to beasts. It’s like a small favor.

Angel thought the parrot was overthinking things.

However, he had to admit the parrot’s choice was quite insightful, as the Sharp Fruit matched well with Knockby.

”With this Sharp Fruit, Knockby can talk. We can then directly ask about its relationship with Bimon, right?” Luigi praised his smartness.

Angel looked at the spiral-patterned Sharp Fruit, pondering for a moment, ”Using the Sharp Fruit on Knockby seems fitting. But the Sharp Fruit comes from the Sacred Tree, and the seeds of the Sacred Tree originate from the Outer Gods. Could these fruits contain hidden dangers from the Outer Gods?”

Even though the fruit isn’t meant for humans but for Knockby, Knockby is certainly going to stay by Luigi’s side. If the Outer Gods use Knockby for any tricks, it wouldn’t be good for them.

Angel voiced his concerns, and after hearing him, Luigi’s expression became somewhat more serious. He hesitated for a moment and turned to look at Laplace.

Laplace had some research on Sharp Fruits. Previously, it was Laplace who determined the type of Sharp Fruit at the parrot’s place. Perhaps Laplace knows if this Sharp Fruit has any hidden dangers?

Laplace took the Sharp Fruit and examined it carefully before saying, ”From what I know, Sharp Fruits indeed have some unknown dangers, most likely serving as a backdoor left by the Outer Gods.”

”However, the Sharp Fruits with dangers are usually those with very strong effects. For example, fruits that can make one undergo Elementalization, fruits that can change the physical attributes of the body, and those that can directly revert to the Outer God beast forms.”

”The effects of these fruits, to put it simply, are the Outer Gods delegating the power of their Authority. The closer it is to the Authority held by the Outer Gods, the greater the danger.”

”For instance, the fruit that allows reversion to the Outer God beast form will effectively make the consumer a vessel for the Outer Gods to walk on earth.”

”Conversely, if the effect of the Sharp Fruit itself is not strong and contradicts the Authority held by the Outer Gods, then the hazards of such a cultivated Sharp Fruit are minimal, or even non-existent.”

Luigi: ”Then this Sharp Fruit that allows beasts to speak, which type does it belong to?”

Laplace: ”It’s most likely without any hazards.”

Angel asked, somewhat puzzled, ”What is the basis for your judgment? Is it because the effect of this Sharp Fruit is very weak and contradicts the Authority held by the Outer Gods?”

”That is one basis for judgment,” Laplace paused for a moment, ”Another basis is that I happen to know the Outer God behind this Sharp Fruit.”

Uma, also known as the Beast Mountain Goddess.

Her true form is unknown, but in the totem of the Sharp People Tribe who worship Uma, the image of the Uma Goddess is a woman with the body of an eagle entwined by a golden whip.

This totem has three crucial elements— golden whip, eagle body, and a sleeping woman.

These three elements correspond to Uma’s three forms of Authority.

The golden whip represents the Authority of commanding all beasts.

The eagle body represents the Authority of transformation.

The sleeping woman represents the Authority of comfort and rest.

These three forms of Authority are transformed into over a hundred Sacred Tree seeds given to the tribes that worship Uma. The most powerful tribe received three seeds with supreme Authority; the effects of the cultivated Sharp Fruits are commanding beasts, beast form, and the power of rest, respectively.

Other weaker tribes received seeds with either subordinate or even lower capabilities of the supreme Authority.

For instance, the Sharp Fruit representing hypnotic ability is a subordinate substitute for the Rest Fruit.

The Dream Healing Fruit, which slowly restores physical injuries during sleep, is a substitute even lower than the Rest Fruit.

Also, the Half-beast Fruit is a subordinate ability of the Beast Form Fruit, while the Beast Hand Fruit and Beast Ear Fruit are even lower substitutes.

When discussing this, Laplace brought the topic back to the Sharp Fruit at hand: ”And this Sharp Fruit found by the parrot is a substitute even lower than the Beast Language Fruit.”

”The Beast Language Fruit is a substitute even lower than the Command Beasts Fruit.”

In other words, this Sharp Fruit belongs to Uma’s Authority of commanding beasts, but its power occupying the Authority of commanding beasts is less than one-thousandth.

This type of lowest-level fruit has exceedingly weak abilities, with effects almost negligible; the only benefit is... it basically has no flaws.

Uma wouldn’t waste divine power hiding tricks in such a weak fruit.

Not that Uma is unwilling, but Uma’s Divine Power also requires a powerful fruit as a carrier medium; if the fruit is too weak, even a slight infusion of Divine Power would cause it to shatter directly.

There’s no need to waste divine power on this.

”Therefore, this fruit most likely doesn’t have any hidden dangers,” Laplace said, ”It’s... too weak.”

This time, Laplace’s explanation was lengthy but made it clear how the Authority for Sharp Fruits is distributed. The stronger the Sharp Fruit, the more it should be avoided; conversely, the weaker ones are safer.

This was the first time Angel had heard this information, and he found it very enlightening.

If there’s a chance to study Sharp Fruits in the future, it would be better to derive the Authority of the Outer Gods from the weaker Sharp Fruits; trying to save effort by studying the stronger Sharp Fruits might unwittingly attract attention from the Outer Gods.

After confirming that this Sharp Fruit has no side effects, Angel naturally would not stop Luigi anymore.

Under everyone’s gaze, the spiral-patterned pointed fruit was placed into the mouse cage.

The small Knockby didn’t notice the new fruit in the cage, continuing to energetically run on the wheel, trying to prove its worth.

To make Knockby give up its obsession with running, Luigi directly reached in, grabbed the back of Knockby’s neck, lifted it out of the wheel, and placed it in front of the pointed fruit.

Knockby sat on the ground with a bewildered look, glancing left and right.

Its tiny soybean-like eyes showed ignorant innocence and bewildered fear.

Perhaps in Knockby’s view, leaving the familiar wheel meant falling into an unknown dark trap, surrounded by a field of thunder, and it was completely at a loss.

But from Angel and the others’ perspective, Knockby’s confused and cautious demeanor... was rather cute.

Knockby dared not cross the thunder field and stayed motionless for a long time.

This wasn’t a solution either, so to make Knockby quickly understand its current situation and eat the pointed fruit, Angel simply cast a slight Nightmare Illusion directly into Knockby’s brow.

Through the depiction in the Nightmare Illusion, Knockby understood the pointed fruit in front of it was edible and ”delicious.”

After watching the ”Nightmare Illusion Theater” in its mind, Knockby hesitated for a long time before taking small steps to the pointed fruit, ready to feast.

But just as Knockby approached the pointed fruit, suddenly, its eyes began to spin, and its body involuntarily followed suit.

The next second, Knockby fainted beside the pointed fruit.

”What’s going on?” Luigi curiously touched Knockby to confirm it had just fainted.

Angel didn’t know what happened either; everything seemed fine before, so why did it suddenly pass out? With doubts, Angel turned Knockby face up.

When they saw Knockby’s expression, everyone silently understood.

Knockby’s tiny eyes were spinning up, down, left, and right. To use a more vivid expression, they looked like... mosquito coil eyes.

Knockby had fainted.

The direct cause of fainting was seeing the spiral pattern on the pointed fruit.

But the indirect cause was... it had been running and running, consuming a lot of energy, and combined with Angel’s ”Nightmare Illusion Theater” in its mind, it drained its already limited spiritual power. With both factors at play, Knockby’s mind was exhausted, and seeing the spiral pattern, it didn’t realize and fainted.

”Should we wake it?” Angel asked, ”Splash some cold water; it should wake up.”

Throwing cold water? Luigi looked reluctant and eventually shook his head, ”Never mind, it’s been running nonstop at the wish store, consuming a lot of energy; it came here and got scared, exhausted mentally and emotionally, fainting is good, let it sleep.”

”As for the pointed fruit, we can leave it here; it can eat it when it wakes up.”

At this point, Luigi looked at Angel, ”As for the relationship between it and Bimon, let’s wait for Bimon to speak for itself?”

Angel shrugged indifferently; this was Luigi’s suggested method anyway, but seeing Knockby pitiful now, he negated his own method.

It can only be said Luigi changes his mind whenever he wants.

...

Knockby’s sleep might last for more than a day. Luigi cautiously returned Knockby to his space, muttering while doing so:

”If Bimon is more affectionate towards you, then I must make Knockby closer to me. Then, with Knockby’s help, win back Bimon’s heart...”

Angel expressed, ”...”

He never thought of competing for the ”affections” of Bimon or Knockby, and if he wasn’t mistaken, both Bimon and Knockby were male...

Knockby won’t wake up for now, so they could only wait for Bimon next.

Angel, through spiritual power perception, noted that Bimon left more and more pages. Although he couldn’t understand the text on them, his judgment was that it might have already found the solution, and it might not take long for Bimon to present a result.

The facts aligned with Angel’s judgment.

Five minutes later, Bimon activated the Nightmare Illusion sphere, contacted Angel, and expressed it had found a solution.

Angel unlocked the illusion next to the mouse cage and lifted the cloth outside the cage, revealing Bimon inside.

Laplace and Luigi also turned to look.

Earliers’ words from Angel stated that Bimon had written many pages; just listening made it hard to visualize the scene. Now seeing the thick stack of pages in the mouse cage, they finally understood how fast Bimon could sketch.

Not even half an hour had passed, yet Bimon had already written nearly twenty pages.

Moreover, every page contained drawings and text, indicating it wasn’t scribbling, but it was meaningful content.

Quick and substantial, at this speed, couldn’t it write a whole anthology in a day? Luigi was astonished, looking at Bimon with an even more gentle gaze.

Angel, however, wasn’t that surprised because... he had already been surprised before.

When Bimon was writing, its two small hands moved so fast they almost became afterimages. It could even use both hands simultaneously, drawing with one and writing with the other; indicating its brain development wouldn’t be low from just this alone.

However, speed alone wasn’t the concern; it was about what Bimon wrote.

Bimon organized the draft papers, preparing to hand them to Angel.

But Angel didn’t take those draft papers: ”Just tell me your solution directly. Keep the draft sheets for yourself.”

Bimon nodded, calmly put down the draft papers, and began its explanation: ”Regarding the transfer of the Golden Silk Stomach Bag’s opening, there are indeed many solutions, but due to time constraints, I could only think of two solutions...”

Bimon quickly elaborated on its solutions.

The first solution, which is also the most direct, is to add a pipeline directly to the body, connecting to the Golden Silk Stomach Bag, replacing the esophagus’s function. The outlet for this pipeline can be set anywhere on the body, the hands, feet, or even placed in the navel.

This method sounds simple, but it requires considering the Golden Silk Stomach Bag’s structure and the materials for the additional pipeline.

In other words, this falls under the category of biological modification.

It’s definitely not an easy task.

If the added pipeline causes rejection in the organism or results in some abnormalities, it would be a failed case.

Bimon’s answer not only included solutions but also the structural design of the pipeline and the corresponding materials.

Very comprehensive.
