Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3215: Chapter 3216: Regulation

After leaving the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom outpost, Luigi immediately took out Pixi’s contract document and carefully sensed for a moment.

”I wasn’t wrong earlier, Pixi is indeed at the Pi Luoxiu outpost.” Luigi made a grumbling sound.

Previously, when at the outpost of the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, the perception was somewhat blocked, and Luigi could only vaguely sense that Pixi should be on a higher level of the Ring Fort. Coincidentally, the Pi Luoxiu outpost is on the upper levels.

As Pixi is the minister in charge of the economy, he usually doesn’t leave the outpost, so Luigi previously guessed that Pixi was at the outpost.

Now back at the Ring Fort, the perception became clearer, basically confirming that Pixi was on the 5500th floor.

And this floor is also where the Pi Luoxiu outpost is located.

”Are we going to the Pi Luoxiu outpost now?” Angel looked at Luigi.

Luigi nodded without hesitation, full of enthusiasm. He couldn’t wait to slap the face of the customer service that blacklisted him before!

Angel had no objections to this, as they also needed to add pages to the display booklet, so going to the Pi Luoxiu outpost was inevitable.

However, when they arrived at the skipping tier ladder, ready to head for the 5500th floor, Luigi suddenly thought of something and turned to Angel: ”By the way, aren’t you looking for a Yingji named Sipolov? Can you sense his position now?”

Angel nodded: ”In the lower levels, not sure which one exactly, but should be below the 2000th floor.”

He had previously extended his spiritual power into the bracelet and sensed it; Sipolov was still some distance away, making it impossible to pinpoint his location.

”So should we find Sipolov first?” Luigi hesitated for a moment and asked.

Angel: ”No need, it’s not urgent on his side.”

He bought Sipolov’s favor for the Heart Fire, and the Heart Fire comes from the Heartfire Hall, which is located in the Yingji Clan’s homeland—the Ice Country. So even if he finds Sipolov now, he can’t immediately obtain the Heart Fire.

Moreover, whether Sipolov’s favor is sufficient to exchange for the Heart Fire is also hard to say.

Therefore, there’s no need to be in such a hurry; it’s okay to go later.

Compared to the distant Heart Fire, Angel was actually more concerned about what could be obtained now, such as the Thunderous Eye of the Pi Luoxiu Clan, the Invention Mouse, and the additional pages to the display booklet.

Luigi: ”Then let’s go to the 5500th floor to find the Pi Luoxiu outpost first, and then decide whether to go to the 5000th floor to see the exhibition or to find Sipolov.”

Angel nodded noncommittally.

After the previous communication with Khuntela, he now had a general understanding of the situation of the Ring Fort.

The Ring Fort’s publicly declared highest floor is the 7000th floor, but it’s not certain if this is the true number, as floors above 6000 are not open to the public.

In other words, for this regular gathering, all races are placed below the 6000th floor.

And the most important part of this gathering, the central exhibition platform for inter-racial exchanges, is arranged on the 5000th floor. Specifically, from the 4800th to the 5200th floor are exhibition areas, with the central platform on the 5000th floor, while other floors serve as exchange areas for various races.

Though the number of floors seems large, with the aid of the tier-skipping ladder, movement is still swift.

Just as now, when they were transported from the 4000th floor to the 5500th floor, it was just a moment’s work.

After a brief spatial twist, Angel opened his eyes, and barring any accidents, this should be the Pi Luoxiu outpost.

As Angel thought this, the aggregation energy within the Crystal Pavilion slowly formed an illusory number: ”5480”.

Angel: ”???”

They weren’t jumping tiers for the first time; they had done it before. Upon reaching a new level, there would always be a phantom number displaying the current floor.

The appearance of the number 5480 meant they were currently on the 5480th floor.

”Huh? How could it be this floor? I thought I didn’t make a mistake?” Not only was Angel puzzled, but Luigi, who was operating the tier jump, was also bewildered.

”Wait a minute, let me try again.” With that, Luigi prepared to perform the tier jump again, but after trying once more, the number in the Crystal Pavilion remained unchanged, stuck on the 5480th floor.

Seeing this, Luigi, somewhat incredulous, was about to try again. But this time, before he could start operating, he was stopped by a Crystal Eye Clan guard.

”Guest, are you planning to go to the 5500th floor?” Eventually, a Crystal Eye Clan guard clad entirely in red crystal armor approached from outside the Crystal Pavilion.

Behind him were six or seven small soldiers, peering over at them.

Luigi, acting like a ”diplomatic envoy,” proactively engaged in conversation: ”That’s right, I am indeed preparing to go to the 5500th floor, but...how do you know?”

Red-armored guard: ”Ever since the message about adding pages to the display booklet got out, many have gone to the Pi Luoxiu outpost. I’ve seen at least hundreds of people here already.”

Pausing briefly, the red-armored guard continued: ”I assume guests must be wondering why you appeared on this floor?”

While it was phrased as a question, before Luigi could respond, the red-armored guard quickly gave the answer.

Due to the overwhelming influx of people heading for the 5500th floor in such a short time, the 5500th floor became overcrowded. Furthermore, every Crystal Pavilion transmission point was occupied by crowds, making it impossible for those who wanted to enter, and those inside couldn’t leave temporarily.

In this situation, the Crystal Eye Clan had to implement crowd control.

When the transmission points on the 5500th floor are full, they adjust the transmission floors downward one by one to avoid transmission blockages.

Their current appearance on the 5480th floor was a result of this control.

The red-armored guard was assigned to this floor specifically to explain to guests like them who were confused.

Therefore, when the red-armored guard saw Luigi repeatedly trying to transmit but failing to transmit away, he immediately concluded that they were headed for the 5500th floor.

After hearing the red-armored guard’s explanation, Luigi, understanding the situation, couldn’t help but complain: ”Previously, when making announcements, everyone said they wouldn’t add pages to the display booklet and were against it, but when it comes to implementation, they’re faster than anyone.”

The red-armored guard chuckled awkwardly, not responding.

Luigi sighed: ”So how do we get to the 5500th floor now? Wait until they disperse before we can go?”

The red-armored guard pointed to a staircase beside a shop a hundred meters away: ”Why not try taking the stairs? Actually, 20 floors isn’t too high...”

”By the way, you three guests, could you move a little... you’re blocking the transmission point, and the numbers can only keep moving down...”

After a lot, the main point of the red-armored guard was actually to say this.

Besides providing explanations, their main duty is to clear the transmission points.

Everyone: ”...”

Half a minute later, Angel and the others reached the winding staircase, ready to begin their stair-climbing journey.

While looking at the winding staircase, five or six groups of people had already come and gone, all transmitted to this floor and forced to use the stairs. Though everyone’s face showed dissatisfaction and anger, as the red-armored guard said, 20 floors aren’t really that high.

”If I didn’t want to break the rules, I would just fly straight up.” Luigi, though speaking angrily, obediently climbed the stairs.

Climbing, Luigi whispered in Angel’s ear: ”Just now I heard a passerby say that the White Mirror Priest of Everstanding King City entered the transmission point with them, but the White Mirror Priest was transmitted away while they were sent to this floor. Do you know what that implies?”

Luigi had only said half, and Angel already understood his meaning.

The priests of Everstanding King City are divided into four levels: the highest being the Red Mirror Priest, followed by Black, White Mirror Priests, then Gray Mirror Priests, and the lowest being the Servant Mirror Priests.

Therefore, the level of the White Mirror Priest in Everstanding King City is very high.

It also means that White Mirror Priests belong to the noble class.

When commoners and nobles teleport together, nobles are ”arranged”, but commoners are ”being arranged”, which clearly shows unfair treatment.

This is what Luigi is complaining about.

However, in Angel’s view, this is quite normal. White Mirror Priests are not only nobles but are also strong figures; with strength naturally comes corresponding treatment.

For big figures like Jasmine, surely it would be arranged perfectly, rather than having them climb stairs slowly, right?

So, facing Luigi’s complaint, after a moment of thought, Angel replied: ”...Does this mean you are too low-profile?”

Luigi didn’t understand at first but after thinking it through, he nodded vigorously: ”You’re right, it’s because I’m too low-profile. If I were more famous, or like Glaipnir, caused some major events, I wouldn’t have been teleported to this level.”

Glaipnir, being an Astrologer, has helped Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, and he is very famous in the Daylight Mirror Domain. If Glaipnir were to follow this time, he would probably be well arranged by the people behind the scenes.

As for Luigi, he’s not unknown, just not well-regarded due to the nature of his fame. After all, art is considered a hidden study in the Daylight Mirror Domain.

As for Laplace... she’s even less famous than Luigi, naturally won’t be regarded either.

Of course, whether it’s Luigi or Laplace, their identities within the core circles of top races aren’t secrets, like how Khuntela guessed Laplace’s identity at first glance.

But for ordinary races, recognizing them is too difficult.

At most, Controllers might understand, but understanding doesn’t mean ”recognizing.”

In conclusion, not being ”arranged” is perfectly normal.

”Anyway, the 20th floor isn’t far, climbing it is fine. At least the Crystal Eye Clan hasn’t blocked this way of climbing stairs.”

Angel himself doesn’t mind climbing stairs, he’s a super small nobody in the Daylight Mirror Domain, hence has no sense of dignity or self-esteem.

However, he understands Luigi’s complaints too.

But compared to Luigi, he is actually more curious about Laplace’s thoughts. Does Laplace feel uncomfortable for not being arranged?

Angel curiously looked at Laplace.

Laplace’s expression showed no change, still indifferent. However, her eyes were slightly lowered, which was unusual for her, as if contemplating.

Even though Angel had already restrained his gaze, Laplace still noticed.

Laplace raised her head, puzzled, and looked at Angel: ”What’s up?”

Angel coughed lightly: ”Are you thinking about climbing stairs?”

What’s there to think about climbing stairs? Laplace was somewhat perplexed but didn’t ask, merely shook her head calmly: ”No, I was just thinking about the situation with the main body...”

”Main body?” Not only Angel, but Luigi also looked over curiously: ”What’s up with the main body? I didn’t receive any information over here?”

Laplace: ”It’s nothing, just ran into a strange little item.”

Pausing, Laplace looked at Angel: ”You might be interested.”

Angel: ”???”

A small item I’m interested in? And it was encountered by Laplace’s main body... does it mean Laplace’s main body fished something out of the Sea of Void Mirror?

Angel voiced his curiosity.

Laplace nodded: ”Yes, it was discovered in the Sea of Void Mirror, just half an hour ago, it surged out from a Sea Eye, and happened to drift near the main body.”

Things from the Sea of Void Mirror, and out from a ”Sea Eye”, it must be things from another world.

Upon hearing this, Angel indeed felt a bit curious: ”What is it?”

Laplace: ”A painting.”

”A painting?” Upon hearing the word painting, the first thought that flashed in Angel’s mind was... Magic Painter Wizard, Feng.

During the Abyss battle, Feng arranged him clearly through the Book of Kael, although Feng eventually compensated him, Angel still developed some post-traumatic stress.

Whenever he heard about paintings, and felt a ”coincidence”, he couldn’t help but think of the Magic Painter Wizard.

Always feeling like Feng is about to cause trouble again.

Now hearing Laplace talk about encountering a painting, past events rushed into his head.

Laplace also noticed the change in Angel’s mood. Not only did his expression change, but his gaze was also odd, prompting her to ask: ”What’s wrong with you?”

Angel was silent for a moment, shaking his head: ”It’s nothing, just some unpleasant memories triggered by the thought of paintings.”

Angel didn’t elaborate, and instead continued: ”Let’s talk about that painting, you mentioned it’s a bit odd? Can you explain how it’s odd?”

Laplace thought for a moment: ”Hard to describe, hmm... would you like to see it for yourself?”

See it for myself? What does that mean?

Angel: ”You mean after the gathering, we go see the painting?”

Laplace shook her head: ”No need to wait until after the gathering, I can take you now.”

”Ah?” Go now? How to go? Using Mirror Corridor?

Angel was totally puzzled.

Laplace: ”Not Mirror Corridor, you can consider it as using Illusion Technique to synchronize an environment.”

Angel: ”Holographic live broadcast?”

Laplace thought for a moment: ”Similar, but there are differences. Would you like to try?”

Upon hearing the phrase similar to Holographic live broadcast, Angel’s curiosity was piqued, he also wanted to see what kind of live broadcast Laplace could create.

Reflecting on this, Angel didn’t hesitate and directly nodded: ”Okay.”

Laplace looked around: ”Since we are still climbing the stairs, after finding a resting place, I’ll take you to see it.”
