Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3232: Chapter 3233: Bimon

After listening to Pixi’s words, regardless of Angel and the others’ reactions, Zigwa was very excited.

His green face was flush with an excited pink.

To Zigwa, his greatest pride is his ”sense of moral honor and shame,” and because of this sense, he could not take small advantages.

However, this sense of honor and shame also gave rise to a new self-awareness, called ”sense of shame.”

Zigwa has high morals but feels ashamed of his race, always believing that others would look down on him for being part of the Pi Luoxiu Clan, causing him to instinctively hide his appearance.

Others think this is ”shyness,” but it’s actually ”sense of shame,” which is an inferiority complex about his own race.

Moreover, with this sense of shame, he actually doesn’t have much empathy for his own kind.

This has resulted in Zigwa’s heart being filled with complex and conflicting emotions.

He is proud of his actions but at the same time feels inferior and ashamed of his birth. Yet, this shame never deviates from his inner pride.

It sounds odd, and indeed it is; Zigwa’s heart is so... twisted.

Pixi’s words alone could not possibly resolve all the twists in Zigwa’s heart, but they did give Zigwa a sense of ”being acknowledged.”

In the past, he always thought his moral sense would become a source of ridicule among the Pi Luoxiu Clan.

But now he realizes that someone does understand him.

And this person is Lord Pixi!

Zigwa never imagined that he would receive Pixi’s praise! Such an important figure not only remembered his affairs but also effortlessly recounted many details.

This sense of recognition instantly elevated him; how could he not be excited? How could he not be thrilled?

Facing Zigwa’s excitement, Pixi smiled and patted him on the shoulder, with an expression of ”a young person working hard, I have high hopes for you.”

This further heightened Zigwa’s emotions.

Off to the side, Luigi muttered under his breath, ”What kind of performance is this?”

Angel smiled and said nothing; his Hyper Perception read some interesting things from Pixi and Zigwa’s emotions.

Zigwa was not as pure as Pixi made him out to be.

Nor was Pixi as concerned about Zigwa as he seemed.

Although their emotions were at odds, the surface pleasantries allowed both sides to attain certain mental satisfaction.

Isn’t this, quite interesting?

Pixi also heard Luigi’s mutterings, put away the slightly prideful feeling from Zigwa’s ”admiration,” and said earnestly, ”Zigwa, let’s get back to the main topic. When you came, Pierdan should have told you the demands of these esteemed guests.”

Zigwa immediately nodded, ”I know, I’ve brought Bimon?”

”Bimon?” Pixi paused, ”What kind of name is that?”

Beside him, Pierdan hurriedly explained, ”Nak Su is Bimon.”

Pixi frowned and looked at Zigwa, ”Is this a name you came up with?”

Zigwa shook his head, ”No, it’s what it told me.”

Apparently, Pierdan had already asked about the situation on the way, and before Zigwa could explain, he said first, ”It’s like this, my lords. When Nak Su came into Zigwa’s hands, Zigwa asked for its name. It no longer called itself Nak Su and instead gave itself a new name, which is now Bimon.”

”Bimon...” Pixi said, ”What does this mean? How strange.”

Zigwa and Pierdan both shook their heads; they hadn’t heard of this name before.

Angel also heard this new name; he felt it was somewhat familiar but upon further thought, seemed not to have heard it before.

However, on the other side, Laplace, upon hearing this name suddenly raised an eyebrow and said in the Mind Ribbon, ”In the Druna Plane, there was an ancient Deity called Bimon.”

”Druna Plane?” Angel responded in the Mind Ribbon, ”The plane that worships totems and mainly has beast-shaped deities?”

Laplace nodded, ”That’s right, Druna Plane’s Beast God is also called the Outer God. And Bimon was an ancient Outer God. But...”

Laplace paused, ”...It disappeared tens of thousands of years ago.”

”Disappeared? Did it die?” Luigi asked curiously.

Laplace shook his head, ”I don’t know, no one saw whether it perished. However, many of the Sharp People Tribe, who worshipped the Bimon totem, lost their divine protection after Bimon’s disappearance. In such situations, it’s either the Deity has fallen or no longer protects the world, or has distanced from the Druna Plane.”

”So many years have passed; there probably aren’t any tribes that worship Bimon left.”

At least, Laplace hasn’t seen any Sharp People Tribes worshiping Bimon in the Sea of Void Mirror.

And information about Bimon was seen by Laplace in the ruins murals of Druna.

Angel: ”No, there are still tribes that worship Bimon.”

With Laplace’s narration, Angel also remembered why the name seemed familiar.

Laplace looked over in confusion.

Angel: ”In the Southern Domain, far away from the Flourish Continent’s Outer Sea, there is a continent called Feran Continent. In the center of this continent, there are many primitive tribes, among them tribes that worship Bimon.”

Luigi: ”Are they all humans?”

Angel nodded. Since it’s in the Southern Domain, they must be humans.

Luigi: ”In the world of Sharp People, they have already lost faith in Bimon; unexpectedly, humans still worship Bimon...”

Laplace: ”This is actually quite normal. For the Sharp People Tribes of Druna, their faith is to gain power and protection. When they lose both, switching to other totems is common; however, for humans living in the Wizards’ Realm, they are already well-protected, so their faith is to seek an inner pillar.”

”As long as the inner pillar does not fall, the spirit endures, and the faith continues.”

Luigi rubbed his chin, ”From this perspective, human faith is purer?”

”Pure is pure, but it’s actually more ignorant and twisted,” Laplace said. ”Because Wizards cannot allow a Deity’s influence to extend to the Southern Domain, so many times, humans’ faith may not clearly point to a corresponding Deity. In the process of faith, Wizards have applied means.”

Angel also added, ”That’s right, some of the totems worshipped by the tribes on Feran Continent are actually given by Wizards themselves. The names use those of Wild Gods, Outer Gods, but the totem’s manifestations point to the Wizards themselves.”

Wizards don’t believe in Deities, but it doesn’t stop them from researching the power of faith.

Feran Continent having such primitive beliefs is, in essence, a testing ground for Wizards.

This is what’s called ignorant faith and twisted belief.

Luigi: ”By this comparison, the scope and skills of Wizards are indeed stronger than those of these Outer Gods.”

”The topic has gone astray, let’s get back to Bimon.” Luigi: ”I previously speculated that Naxu’s ancestors might possess a powerful Bloodline, and now Naxu has named itself Bimon. Bimon is a ’beast-like Deity’ in the Druna Plane; Naxu is also a beast. Does this mean there is a connection between Naxu and this Bimon Deity?”

Angel: ”...There is no such connection.”

It’s like a Mirror Dragon doll’s appearance resembling a Mirror Dragon, so does the Mirror Dragon doll equate to the Mirror Dragon, also possessing its strength?

Such an association is clearly erroneous.

Nonetheless, speaking of giving oneself the name Naxu or Bimon, this Invention Mouse seems to have some unexpected implications in naming.

Although unable to prove Naxu’s uniqueness through its name, it is worth observing.

Luigi turns his head to Zigua: ”Whether Bimon or Naxu, the name does not matter. The important thing is where it is?”

Zigua: ”I have it with me, please wait a moment.”

While speaking, Zigua goes to the side and starts retching at the empty space.

Looking at Zigua’s appearance, there is no doubt that he is retrieving something from the Golden Silk Stomach Bag.

Amid Luigi’s dark expression, Zigua spits out a metal cage from his mouth. As soon as the cage is outside, it starts to expand with the wind and soon returns to its normal size.

Zigua returns carrying the cage.

”Bimon is inside, honorable gentlemen.” Zigua hands the cage over to Luigi.

Luigi does not immediately take it but carefully observes to ensure the handle of the cage is free of any unclean liquids before accepting it.

——Although he knows retrieving items from the Golden Silk Stomach Bag does not require passing through the esophagus and generally does not touch unidentified liquids, Luigi still needs to check for peace of mind.

A thin layer of black cloth covers the outside of the cage, temporarily obscuring the inside.

But from the gentle breathing inside, it’s clear there is indeed some creature within the cage.

After Luigi receives the cage, he doesn’t hesitate and directly unveils the black cloth outside, revealing the true appearance of ”Naxu. Bimon. Invention Mouse.”

As Naxu’s real form is unveiled, Luigi’s gaze pauses for several seconds in a daze.

After quite a while, Luigi finally reacts: ”Its appearance seems to be somewhat atavistic?”

The mouse in the cage, unlike the Invention Mice previously brought by Pierdan, resembles more closely a small hamster.

Its body is covered in grey-brown fur, and there are few tufts of white and golden hair on its head.

Except for not being as plump as a Golden Silk Bear, its other features are very similar.

”The previous Invention Mouse we saw had pure white fur, but this one is gray-brown. Apart from the difference in fur color, everything else seems identical.” Luigi murmurs quietly.

The little hamster squatting in the cage was initially somewhat wilted and did not raise its head, but upon hearing Luigi’s description, its round little ears twitched.

It raised its eyes to glance outside.

It was no longer surrounded by the Pi Luoxiu but rather stared at by a group of...humans.

In its memory, humans and the Pi Luoxiu differ little; looking at the outside humans, it lowered its head again.

”Indeed, it resembles the previous Invention Mouse.” Angel also speaks at this moment.

Luigi: ”That Invention Mouse and Piffi looked exactly alike, and this one, apart from the fur color difference, is slightly lean but otherwise also resembles Piffi. If it looks like Piffi, isn’t that considered atavistic?”

Angel silently retorts: ”Is Piffi already recognized as an ’ancestor’?”

Luigi: ”I meant using Piffi as a benchmark.”

Angel very much wanted to say: Using Piffi as a benchmark holds no value, considering that previous Golden Silk Bear looked so much like Piffi, yet wasn’t it idiotic?

But earlier he played the enigmatic role in front of Luigi, so to avoid embarrassment, he opted not to voice these thoughts.

Luigi and Angel’s conversation was not concealed.

Not only did the outsiders hear it, but the Naxu inside the cage did too.

Piffi... and the Invention Mouse that looked identical to Piffi...

Naxu suddenly realized something, stood up from the corner, and looked up at Luigi and Angel outside.

It very much wanted to say something, but when thinking about its identity, it couldn’t utter a single word.

”It was rather wilted just now, but now it’s standing.” Luigi lowers his head, looking at Naxu in the cage: ”Hey, little guy, you ought to understand our words, right?”

Naxu doesn’t open its mouth but emits a low growl.

”The previous Invention Mouse could only make whimpering sounds, but this one became a bass cannon.” Luigi murmurs: ”A complete contrast.”

Angel silently supplements in his heart: One with a clipped voice, another with a tough-guy style.

Luigi: ”I heard you gave yourself two names, one Naxu, another Bimon? How do you wish others to call you?”

Luigi continues to look down and inquire.

The Naxu in the cage appears sluggish, like a fool with overloaded thoughts, and takes quite a while before responding: ”...Bimon.”

”Bimon?” A dim light flickers in Luigi’s eyes: ”What does Bimon mean?”

Naxu... or rather Bimon bows its head in silence and does not answer.

At this point, Zigua on the side speaks: ”That’s how Bimon is. I asked it a hundred questions, and it answered at most one. It seems to say it once contracted a serious illness, which rendered its originally wise mind dull.”

”Sickness?” Luigi looks questioningly at Pierdan: Earlier, Pierdan did not mention Bimon being sick, just that it was under Disguise.

Pierdan is also confused: ”Had it been sick? I haven’t heard about that.”

Zigua: ”Yes, I heard from the people in the trade association that it was very sick before, with its entire body feverish. Originally, its fur was gray and gold, but later the golden fur sheds down to just a small tuft on the head, leaving behind the gray fur all over.”

Pierdan evidently doesn’t know about this matter, and frowningly asks: ”Do you know what illness it had?”

Zigua shakes his head: ”I am not too sure about this. However, after falling ill, its mind may have been burnt out, which turned the previously intelligent into silent and dumb.”

Zigua remarks with a sense of emotion.

If it weren’t for Bimon’s mind being burnt out due to the serious illness, the trade association wouldn’t have taken it out for sale.

After all, it was previously the Invention Mouse that most closely resembled Piffi.

While Zigua and Pierdan speak, Angel observes Bimon.

Sickness? Fever? A burnt-out mind? Angel doesn’t know if the prior two doubts are true or false, but he certainly doesn’t believe that Bimon’s mind is burnt out...
