Chapter 1382: Chapter 589: Kakasong Duchy

In the end, Laine and Sylvia still failed to catch the clown artist’s performance.

Just a few steps out, the Head Maid suddenly squatted down as if shocked by electricity: ”Ugh!”

”Sylvie, what’s wrong? You again?” Laine quickly walked over to the Head Maid and squatted down too.

”That Dark Elf must be at it again... Ugh!” Sylvia felt her heart completely filled with anger and embarrassment, Laine had just helped her temporarily lift the curse, but that Dark Elf was definitely casting spells again!

”Can you stand up, Sylvie?” Laine thought that when he returned, he definitely needed to give Ollica a... cough cough, a stern talking-to, this was too reckless!

”Damn it... damn it! Why does a woman’s body have to be so... so disobedient~” Sylvia gritted her teeth, trying to stand up, but she couldn’t control herself.

Seeing this, Laine simply picked up the Head Maid, holding her in a princess carry in his arms, he smiled wryly: ”Forget it, this way, we can’t watch the performance either, come on, I’ll carry you. The problem is, we’re in the city center now, and can’t find a secluded spot, how about we return to the tavern first?”

”Aah!” Sylvia screamed as she was scooped up by Laine again, rarely did she seem so vulnerable, holding tightly onto his chest: ”Have to... do it again... please.”

”Okay.” Laine held Sylvia and returned to the Holy Grail Praise.

Fifteen minutes later.

Laine held the Head Maid, who covered her face, unwilling to be seen, in a princess carry. The Duke had a slightly awkward expression, and he said softly, ”I’ll take you back, Sylvie.”

Sylvia actually felt like her life had turned bleak, she felt her dignity, her honor, and her character had all been shredded in front of Laine, the Head Maid was so ashamed she dared not move at all, she could only nod silently, not even daring to confirm if Laine had noticed.

But Laine did notice and held Sylvia, letting her rest more comfortably: ”It’s alright, I’ll have Ollica remove the curse when I return, such a shame we couldn’t see the performance today.”

”...” Sylvia’s face felt as if it was being scorched by flames, she couldn’t utter a word, the Head Maid felt somewhat regretful inside, the date they agreed upon ended so quickly and was interrupted once, but all her pride and courage had been thoroughly used up, all she could do now was cover her face with her hands.

”Next time, when we get the chance, let’s go out on a date again, okay?” Laine thought for a long time, deciding to ask directly, maybe it was a bit abrupt but straightforward, otherwise, it would be hard to ask Sylvia out again given her tsundere and non-candid nature.

The maid’s face was flushed like a sunset at this bold invitation, Sylvia’s mind was in chaos.

If she agreed, she’d feel somewhat too frivolous and shameless, after all, she was Lady Surya’s maid, the castle’s Head Maid! How could she just let Laine invite her out!

But refusing seemed impossible too, Laine was ultimately her master, he had also promised to bring back her father, what if refusing made Laine retract his promise? She had promised to repay him!

In the end, Sylvia nodded ever so slightly, extremely shy: ”We need to find a suitable time...”

”Then it’s settled!”

”It’s... settled.”

After returning to the castle, Laine sent Sylvia to Surya. Noticing Surya’s half-smiling gaze, the Head Maid felt mortified to death, almost fainting on the spot.

Surya leaned against the bed head, her golden curls cascading like a waterfall. She exchanged a few words with Laine, bid her husband goodnight, and claimed a goodnight kiss, before turning her attention to Sylvia, who was lying on the bed: ”Get up, Sylvie, Laine has already left.”

”Ugh~ Miss, I’m sorry to you~” The Head Maid buried her head under the quilt, a muffled cry emerging from within: ”I...”

”Hehe, it’s alright, Sylvie.” Surya, pregnant and unable to move easily, reached out and held Sylvia’s hand: ”I’m very happy you went out with Laine, I know you always had issues with Laine because we left for the tower immediately for our honeymoon after the wedding, leaving you aside, and then even after the honeymoon, Laine didn’t act on anything with you, isn’t that right?”

The Head Maid gave no answer.

”I mentioned, one day you will become Laine’s female courtier.” Surya held Sylvia’s hand, her voice as gentle as water: ”I wouldn’t want you to leave me, Sylvie. I’m happy you and Laine could be like this; misunderstandings and misinterpretations always need to be resolved.”

”Miss...”

Meanwhile.

Laine returned to his bedroom, as he just sat down without saying anything, a pair of soft arms wrapped around his neck from behind, the Dark Elf whispered in Laine’s ear: ”So, master, did you enjoy it?”

”Ollica!” Laine said disapprovingly: ”How could you do such an over-the-top thing to Sylvie?”

”I didn’t slice off her limbs; that’s already quite good.” The Dark Elf’s waist-length black hair emitted a faint fragrance, she nuzzled against Laine’s neck, slightly obsessed: ”Master, did you seize the chance to win over that serious yet tsundere Head Maid?”

”It’s not that simple.” Laine shook his head with a bitter smile: ”You know Sylvia’s personality the best.”
