Chapter 1360: Chapter 581: Arabi Lamp God

PS: Second update! I’ve risked my life, asking for votes!

”I used to be a pirate, now, I’m an Emil of Arabi.” The Golden Mage Kareem shared his story, his tone indifferent, as if narrating something completely irrelevant to him: ”I was born in Arabi, yes, in the country that was destroyed by Brittania and the Empire during the Red Flame Grand Expedition, now only some scattered tribes remain there, and I was born there. I awakened my Magic Talent when I was young.”

”Then, like all those clichéd stories, a powerful Lamp God Warlock, during decades of ocean voyages, amassed immeasurable wealth, and during one expedition, ignoring ancient fables, he entered the legendary Burial Ship Graveyard, stealing a large amount of cursed treasure.”

”As he aged and owned countless gold and silver, the allure of raids on the sea gradually got replaced by his longing for the coast of his hometown, but when he returned home, he was met with a city in flames, and clues pointed to the Burial Ship Graveyard, the legendary Undead Pirate, revenge from the Lord of the Burial Ship Graveyard, Count Noctilas.”

”He lost his family, lost everything, he chose revenge in his anger, he wished upon the Lamp God, trading his soul for immense power. But even with a large crew of outstanding sailors, his flagship the Burning Scimitar was enough to defeat the High Elves’ giant ocean ships, he still failed. He was robbed of an eye and barely escaped the Burial Ship Graveyard with his defeated troops.”

Fugen understood: ”You want revenge? You want me and my men to go into the Burial Ship Graveyard to die for you?”

”No, my conditions aren’t that harsh.” The Golden Mage Kareem shook his head: ”I once led an Arabi fleet of more than thirty giant ships into the Burial Ship Graveyard but still suffered a crushing defeat, now I’m left with my flagship the Burning Scimitar. Are you a fool? Or am I a fool?”

”So what are your conditions?” Angerong exclaimed impatiently: ”Speak clearly, don’t leave things half-said!”

”My condition is, Count Noctilas won’t stay in the Burial Ship Graveyard forever. If one day, we find an opportunity, Commander Fugen, I want you to help me completely kill this Vampire Pirate!” The Golden Mage finally showed an angry expression: ”Note, I said the right opportunity, if you agree to me, I will join you with our men, I can pledge loyalty to you.”

Fugen didn’t agree as easily as Kareem imagined, he pondered for a few seconds, then suddenly asked: ”Then, what is the soul exchange you mentioned earlier? What is the equivalence exchange? Why did you say my soul is better than that of the Tiriel people? Do you play with souls?”

”I don’t play with souls.” The Arabian said coldly: ”I made a wish to the Lamp God, the wish is fair, I traded my soul for immense power, the Lamp God is fair. We once made an agreement, if I could replace it with a better, more valuable soul, it would return my soul.”

”I see, no wonder you are interested in other people’s souls.” Fugen understood: ”This is also one of the reasons you openly recruited partners in Miraglino, you are truly ruthless.”

”If I can find a more valuable soul, then why not? If I can find more valuable partners, then why not?” The Golden Mage spoke calmly, with a hint of regret: ”The only trouble is dealing with trash, like that Tiriel man, unable to be my partner nor a more valuable soul, I’ve handled quite a few of such trash.”

”You are truly ruthless, did you kill them all?” Angerong immediately realized, this Arabian is deeply sinful.

”Trash must be sorted and processed, if that Tiriel man wasn’t overly coveting the Lamp God’s secret trying to sneak in and make a wish, I wouldn’t have ordered his execution. I used to be a pirate, but that was a long time ago.” The Golden Mage Kareem shook his head: ”The soul of the loser will be placed on a scale for weighing, checking if it meets the conditions for exchange, unfortunately, none did. I want to use that Vampire Pirate’s soul to exchange for my own soul!”

”Can the Lamp God really fulfill all wishes?” Fugen asked further.

”Do you want to wish? You can try, theoretically, yes, but you must remember, the Lamp God also follows the principle of equivalent exchange, you can try to make a scary enough wish, then see how much you must pay for it.” Kareem looked at Fugen: ”Want to try? Remember, once the wish is made, you can’t go back on it, can’t deny it, but the Lamp God is always fair, like I demonstrated, if you can offer a higher price, you can take back your things.”

Is this the nature of the Lamp God? Fugen understood.

Angerong was still confused.

”Vampire Pirates... I’ve fought them, there’s a place called the Vampire Coast in Lustria, a group of Undead are entrenched there.” Fugen was thoughtful: ”Luther Haken? He’s fought the Lord Huahua, and also fought me.”

”The outcome?” The Golden Mage was slightly interested.

”I defeated him, but lacking a navy, no one dares to fight him decisively on the Vampire Coast.” Fugen shook his head: ”The cannons of his Undead Fleet are too powerful, my army doesn’t dare approach the coast, otherwise we’ll be overwhelmed by cannon fire.”
