Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 691: Chapter 689: Secrets of the New World

Listening to the mermaid’s words, Gu Xi turned to glance at the passageway ahead.

He decisively turned and followed the mermaid.

Regarding Gu Xi’s choice, the Sea Horse Cavalry had no objections. They quickly followed Gu Xi back to the cave they had discovered earlier.

By this time, everything in the cave had been cleared out, not even a single piece of waterweed was left behind.

Each time Gu Xi saw this kind of thorough emptying, he would nod in satisfaction.

He liked teams like the Ghost Squad; their orders could be accomplished with ease and speed.

Confronted with the current situation, Gu Xi couldn’t help but say a word.

Well done.

At that moment, the mermaid swam into the cave, pointing to a spot on the ceiling and said to Gu Xi.

”Sir, this is what we discovered.”

Gu Xi was watching the mermaid’s movements from outside the cave, as his Water Dragon Beast was too large to fit inside.

And Gu Xi himself had no intention of swimming in.

Facing the mermaid in the cave, Gu Xi thought for a moment and raised his hand, summoning thirty Necromancers into the cave.

The Necromancers are different from ghosts; they cannot survive freely underwater.

When immersed in water, their initial reaction was the feeling of impending death.

But under Gu Xi’s command, they struggled to the place where the mermaid found the anomaly and transmitted it to Gu Xi’s eyes through the Eye of the Soul.

Gu Xi quickly understood what the mermaid had discovered.

It turned out the cave’s ceiling was covered with many patterns.

If it were just ordinary murals, the mermaid wouldn’t have come to Gu Xi.

It depicted the Architectural Design Plan for a casting facility, alongside a flowchart indicating the upgrades and promotion directions of the casting factory.

Looking closely, Gu Xi realized it showed the design from the casting factory to the manufacturing workshop, the puppet factory, and finally the dragon factory. It was an entire set of architectural design plans.

This series of architectural design plans was something Gu Xi had previously only obtained from the Ghost’s Spirit Tomb Aura, related to the ghostly buildings.

But here, he saw the designs for the casting factory starting with the Stone Giant.

Not considering the medium and small attached buildings, Gu Xi could tell there were at least four different promotion routes within just the large buildings.

From Stone Giant, Iron People, Golden People to Diamond Man, focusing on strong defense, ultimately enhancing magic resistance.

From Stone Giant, Iron Golem, Steel Golem to Magnetic Golem, focusing on powerful attack, eventually being able to fight many iron opponents alone.

From Stone Giant, Iron Man, Copper Man to Steam Engine Man, focusing on strength enhancement, eventually reaching sky and earth, possessing great power.

Finally, from Stone Giant, Stone Puppet, Heavy Puppet to Puppet Dragon - not to mention others, Stone Puppet and Heavy Puppet were not great, but the Puppet Dragon was at the same Level as a Titan.

Overall, though there might be some different branches, the Stone Giant’s routes were roughly all there.

If Gu Xi transcribed these architectural designs, he could effortlessly establish a massive casting area in Yalidu City, mass-producing such Stone Giant promoted species.

He didn’t need to use them himself; selling them would likely fetch high prices.

Not to mention others, Gu Xi believed that Fang Kang did not possess as comprehensive knowledge of Stone Giants as he did.

However, an idea flashed through Gu Xi’s mind.

If this world can produce Diamond Man, Magnetic Golem, and even Puppet Dragon, such powerful Level 8 and above species, how could they be captured by the Lower World?

But this thought merely flickered in Gu Xi’s mind.

Soon, other thoughts occupied Gu Xi’s mind.

With such a set of architectural design plans in this cave, what about the other caves?

Gu Xi decisively gestured to the mermaid.

”Do the other caves also have similar patterns?”

The mermaid thought for a moment and then shook her head, ”They have corresponding patterns, but none are architectural design plans.”

”Let’s go take a look.”

Gu Xi thought for a moment and, without hesitation, commanded the mermaid.

The mermaid immediately led Gu Xi to the other caves.

As for the Necromancers left behind in this cave, they would simply disappear after death, not affecting the success rate of Gu Xi’s Death Witch Summoning.

At the other caves, Gu Xi understood why the mermaid hadn’t brought him to see them.

They were entirely modifications for Stone Giants.

These modifications weren’t aimed at improving Stone Giants’ quality or combat power, or researching new promotion directions.

Instead, they focused on producing as many Stone Giants as possible with the least materials and energy. The lower the Level of the Stone Giants, the better; the simpler the quality, the better.

Even Gu Xi previously discovered that a piece of stone made with just a little cement and rebar, plus a gem, was one of the things researched here.

This discovery left Gu Xi somewhat dumbfounded.

He felt he might have discovered some of the world’s secrets.

To confirm whether his discovery was true.

Gu Xi even moved back and returned to the initial underground space in the shortest time.

Having discovered a key clue, Gu Xi was less anxious about finding the next underground space.

Back on land, Gu Xi quickly summoned several architectural designers and described the architectural designs he had found, raising some questions.

Because the architectural designs obviously took a normal path.

Under what circumstances would Stone Giants be made simpler and simpler?

To this question, an architectural designer stepped forward.

”Sir, this is something you have done before.”

”I’ve done it?”

Gu Xi looked puzzled.

”Yes, I heard that during the Scarlet Temple period, because there was no armory, you used the barracks’ armory to construct the building.

But back then, the quality of the Red Knights trained was inferior to the regular Red Knights.

If you never had an armory, the Scarlet Temple would gradually have some downgraded Red Knights.

Eventually, even unarmored knights might emerge.”

Listening to this, a thought flashed through Gu Xi’s mind.

”Do you think this world is lacking something, hence the high-tier species’ training camps cannot be constructed, and in the end, they have to downgrade as you said?”
