Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 277: Chapter 275: Unexpected Gains

The rest from yesterday has been completed, and I’m still working hard on the remaining parts. It’s not easy typing on the phone, but asking for a subscription isn’t too much, right?

Having sorted out things around the Yaliduvi Tower, Gu Xi returned to the lawn in front of the tower, where the spoils of war had also been dealt with.

When Gu Xi came back, Luna didn’t ask about Arroyo’s absence. She directly handed over several selected items with attributes to Gu Xi.

Gu Xi took the items without checking their attributes and instructed Luna, ”Luna, set up the road and owl communication points here. These are not actual buildings but extensions of existing ones, so it just requires manpower, right?”

”Yes, rest assured, sir. The undead just summoned can be put to good use, I’ll handle it.”

”Good, then go ahead, Robbie!”

Gu Xi called out again.

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s command, Robbie immediately led the troops over.

He had also seen Arroyo’s situation just now, and seeing Arroyo find a suitable outpost made Robbie envious.

After all, heroes with a base can command a greater number of troops than those without one.

Previously, Robbie had run around the Yaliduvi Tower, exploring all thirteen outer towers, hoping to gain some benefits.

But after all that running around, he ended up with nothing, which naturally left him unwilling to concede.

”Sir.”

”Robbie, you have seen the current situation. The route from Yalidu City to Yaliduvi Tower has not been fully secured yet. During this time, your responsibility is to patrol and guard this road until we have it established and occupy this area.”

”I guarantee to complete the task.”

Robbie immediately recognized this as his opportunity.

Gu Xi had previously promised Robbie that the resources needed for upgrading the Skeleton Swordsman Camp would come from him. As long as Robbie found enough resources, the camp could be upgraded as much as he wanted without Gu Xi taking undue credit.

For Robbie, the task assigned by Gu Xi was a steady source of resource points, a chance to upgrade the Skeleton Swordsman Camp.

Robbie immediately gathered his troops, along with two bosses from the Bone-Slaying Camp, and set off.

Once his subordinates had been given their tasks and left, Gu Xi finally took a look at the items in his hands.

These items were selected by Luna from the piles of white and gray junk on the battlefield.

Gu Xi hadn’t had the chance to look before, but now that he had time, he calmly examined the spoils of his previous battle.

Upon seeing them, Gu Xi’s eyes widened; he thought there wouldn’t be any gains.

Unexpectedly, there was an unexpected reward this time.

[Gunman Skin - Toy Tin Soldier: Allows all lancer-type troops to transform into a tin soldier appearance.]

[Crow Lamp (Support): Grants the knowledge to construct the supporting building Crow Lamp, which upon mastery, can be deployed in the city by consuming 100 negative energy.]

[Locust Seed (Green): A barren land filled with locust eggs, which can be placed in a designated spot, turning the wilderness into an abandoned farmland producing locusts.]

[Abandoned Farmland (Large): Using 500 resources, 10 units of stone, and 10 units of wood to construct an abandoned farmland in the wild (large building).

Once completed, 60 swarms of locusts can be trained weekly.

Once completed, 1000 pounds of dried locusts can be produced weekly.

Once completed, 30 units of locust toxin can be produced weekly.]

[Locust (Level 1): Attack 1, Defense 1, Life 1, Skills: Insect Swarm State, Devouring Everything, Flying Team.]

These three items were pure profit for Gu Xi.

Having examined the Gunman Skin, Gu Xi saw that the front depicted the blue leather armor long spear soldiers typical of a human castle, while the back showed lancers styled like British tin soldiers with red coats and black hats.

This Gunman Skin is not necessarily limited to use by human castle lancers.

According to the description, any unit that fights with a long spear can use this skin.

Just in time, Arroyo already had his own formation, and the Black Spear Camp consisted entirely of lancers. Whether they be skeleton gunners or zombies wielding long spears, everything fell within the transformation scope of the skin.

This perfectly served as a reward for the Black Spear Camp, unifying their appearance.

As for the Crow Lamp and the abandoned farmland set by the locust seed, these were buildings.

Gu Xi had examined the Crow Lamp, which consisted of semi-living crows flying within a specific range, lanterns in their talons.

They could illuminate the road through the mist, and Gu Xi intended to inform Luna later to deploy these between Yaliduvi Tower and Yalidu City for the convenience of troop movements.

The abandoned farmland was a surprise for Gu Xi.

It happened to be the first building he discovered, not intended to be constructed within the city.

However, Gu Xi realized that locusts were a rather insidious existence; they indeed were numerous, but they had low combat power. Most importantly, their life force was so low that it was even less than that of skeletons.

Their trait was devouring everything. Raising locusts required substantial resource investment. With that kind of grain, wouldn’t it be better for Gu Xi to raise other troops?

Gu Xi estimated that locusts would only be significantly useful when his Soul Summoning Skill reached level 8, allowing him to start summoning ghosts.

At that time, a swarm of locusts could be concentrated, a death ripple could be cast, and then a wave of soul summoning could follow, summoning a large number of ghosts.

Finally, the locust corpses could even be used to fertilize the land, completing a cycle of resource utilization.

For the present, Gu Xi planned to build the abandoned farmland far away to avoid disrupting the arrangements of Yalidu City.

After understanding the situation of these items, Gu Xi intended to call for Luna.

However, he found that Luna had already been sent to work.

Gu Xi quickly put away these items, jumped onto the evil coffin, and set off outside the Yaliduvi Tower.

While passing the City Defense Tower, Gu Xi handed the Gunman Skin to Arroyo and watched as the Black Spear Camp completed their re-equip.

As Gu Xi anticipated, after changing skins, all the lancers in the Black Spear Camp, whether skeleton soldiers or zombies, appeared in red clothes and black hats, with their skins gleaming with a metallic luster like tin soldiers.

Their combat traits were unaffected, still shrouded in a layer of black fog.

When they moved, they seemed like a metallic unit emerging from the darkness, and their mere appearance induced terror.

Arroyo, at the front, was so excited that he opened his clothing. To his eyes, his current appearance was superior to his original look.

Seeing Arroyo’s expression, Gu Xi knew what he intended to do.

However, name changes were out of the question now. Gu Xi immediately stated he had other matters to attend to and swiftly left Yaliduvi Tower, leaving Arroyo no chance to voice his thoughts.
