Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 263: Chapter 261: Before Victoria Tower (89/160)

After shaking off the enemy, Gu Xi and his group greatly increased their pace.

The walls of Victoria Tower had already appeared before them.

At this moment, Shaya caught up with Gu Xi and handed over the whistle she just picked up.

[You obtained the Furnace Whistle (Blue)]

[Furnace Whistle (Blue): Can gather and command coal slag to fight for you. One blow gathers coal slag, two blows revive dead coal slag, three blows reinforce and mutate the coal slag.]

[Note: The user of the Furnace Whistle will also be ignited, becoming fuel in the furnace.]

[Explanation: Coal slag also requires constant forging.]

Looking at the item Shaya picked up, Gu Xi’s first reaction was that the situation with Victoria City’s zombie siege was very off this time.

Judging by the appearance of this Furnace Whistle, it’s obvious someone was prepared in advance.

Moreover, Gu Xi suspected there was more than one of these Furnace Whistles.

There might be similar tools elsewhere that can control the coal slag.

At this moment, several Vampire Knights returned.

Gu Xi just glanced at them and realized something seemed off.

”What’s wrong with you guys, why are your faces all flushed like this?”

”We drank the blood of that guy just now, and his blood seems a bit off.”

One of the Vampire Knights, like they were drunk, wobbled as they spoke.

”That guy—are you talking about the one on the roof just now? He still has blood?”

Gu Xi was puzzled by this; the guy upstairs just now, Gu Xi only glanced at, but it was clear he had already turned into coal slag, at most hadn’t turned into black ash.

Does someone like that even have blood?

But looking at the Vampire Knights, it seemed like they hadn’t refrained from drinking.

”What’s your situation now, are you promoting or mutating?”

”No, just feels a bit drunk, nothing else.”

Seeing the state of these Vampire Knights, Gu Xi was a bit helpless; they were all talking nonsense, which wasn’t helpful at all. To find out the details, it seemed he’d have to wait for them to sober up.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi and the others arrived at the city gate of Victoria Tower.

At this moment, Gu Xi noticed that several cannons were aimed at them; if they moved half a step further, these cannons would fire.

At this moment, a Holy Knight ran out, shouting loudly at the city gate.

”Don’t attack, don’t attack, it’s us. I’m the eldest son of Viscount Ana. Look at my face, I’m human. Don’t attack, don’t attack!”

The soldiers on the city wall saw the Holy Knight but didn’t move the cannons, and instead, a few people came over to scrutinize him.

At last, a soldier said, ”It’s Karim of the Ana family. Go back. Right now, no one is allowed into Victoria Tower, not even if a Count came, let alone a Viscount’s son. Go back, retreat outside the city to be safe.”

”Is General Kanu there? I’m not here for Victoria Tower.

No, I’ve come to Victoria Tower not to hide from enemies, I’m...”

Seeing the Holy Knight’s disconnected words, Gu Xi directly came out.

His impressive demeanor caught everyone’s attention immediately.

Gu Xi dragged the Holy Knight behind him, ”I am the Undead Mage, Gu Xi. I have come from Westminster Cathedral escorting the body of Eldest Princess Anna.”

Hearing this, everyone on the city wall was stunned.

Seeing their expressions, Gu Xi rolled his eyes at the Holy Knight.

This useless person, just state the simple matter directly—what was the point of babbling about Victoria Tower or not?

Right now, just saying a word should get them to open the gate.

But truly making Victoria City open the gates was no simple matter; upon hearing of Eldest Princess Anna’s demise, Victoria City fell into chaos.

Soon, horn sounds came from behind the walls, and several white-feathered crows flew out.

Seeing these crows, Gu Xi was amazed.

What have the people of Britain done to raise these crows so large and even white?

The size of these crows approached that of a Golden Eagle.

If it weren’t for their unmistakable crow heads, Gu Xi would have believed they were white eagles.

Landing among Gu Xi’s group, Gu Xi felt these crows carried an air of superiority, casting a disdainful glance at him before moving towards Eldest Princess Anna’s body.

After examining Eldest Princess Anna’s body, the crows immediately spread their wings and took flight.

Just when Gu Xi thought they were returning to Victoria City to report, a surprising scene unfolded before him.

The crows flapping their wings lifted Eldest Princess Anna’s body into the air.

The crows didn’t even glance at Gu Xi and the others, simply taking Eldest Princess Anna’s body away.

This situation left Gu Xi speechless.

Even if they weren’t qualified to enter Victoria Tower, someone should at least come out to meet them, give them a reward or something.

Leaving like this, what was it, a fool’s errand?

However, the human soldiers didn’t think so; as the crows lifted Eldest Princess Anna’s body into the air, they all knelt on one knee.

They wore expressions of satisfaction as if escorting Eldest Princess Anna’s body back was a great achievement.

Regarding their stance, Gu Xi could only shake his head.

”Alright, the task is complete, let’s prepare to leave.”

Saying this, Gu Xi jumped onto the Evil Coffin, intending to return to Victoria City.

As for the soldiers before him, Gu Xi had already negotiated with them on the way.

When Victoria City was rebuilt, they would handle things, not promising much, but managing to secure one or two plots in the city center for Gu Xi to build a small building was a simple matter.

In short, Gu Xi was ensured ownership of four apartment buildings along the journey.

There was even one with its own sewer and riverside pier.

As for everything else, Shaya logged them all down.

After the zombie siege in Victoria City was resolved, Shaya would claim them one by one.

Shaya was thrilled about this.

On the way here, she’d already planned; among the four apartment buildings, one could act as a hotel and intelligence center, just enough to have her mentor train a batch of intelligence personnel.

The one with the pier could serve as a warehouse linked to the Black Market.

The remaining two, one would be Gu Xi’s residence in Victoria City, and the other a safe house.

As for the small building en route to Yalidu City, it would remain in its original location as it was Gu Xi’s territory, guaranteed by the soldiers, irremovable by anyone else.
