As Gu Xi made his move this time, the Bone Shield started to encircle the fronts of the undead from Arroyo forward, one after another.

This is the last method Gu Xi could come up with.

Gu Xi could see the situation clearly; these black figures were completely composed of coal ash.

As long as the coal ash remains, they can crawl back up from the ground at any time.

Gu Xi even speculated that they might have been transported out of the Victoria City fire using this method.

The only way to disrupt this method is to deal with the coal ash-like bodies.

Gu Xi had mastered three methods for dealing with bodies himself.

Since the Soul Summoning Skill couldn’t turn the enemy into undead, and Secondary Corpse Burst would harm their own, Gu Xi naturally chose to enhance the defense power with a Bone Shield.

Although coal ash-like bodies couldn’t be summoned, they could still be converted into Bone Shields.

However, the Bone Shields they transformed were black, resembling three clusters of gray mist encircling the undead.

Once Arroyo saw the situation, he understood that Gu Xi was helping him, so he swung his great axe forward three times, leading his troops another distance ahead.

When he had almost depleted his mana, Gu Xi turned his hand.

”Death Incarnation!”

Within the black mist, the Death Incarnation emerged, but Gu Xi didn’t demand that the Death Incarnation attack anyone. Instead, he pointed to those recently slain black figures.

”Swallow all the black ash. If you can’t swallow it, disperse it.”

The Death Incarnation took a glance at the battlefield and understood Gu Xi’s intentions.

There wasn’t any intention to leave the enemy with a bit of black powder.

The Death Incarnation knew what was needed, he emerged with the Crystal Storm, and after receiving Gu Xi’s orders, began circling over the lancer troops; black figures killed would instantly be enveloped into the black mist once turned into black ash.

These black entities attempted to transform back into human form in mid-air, but the Death Incarnation suppressed the transformation and integrated all the black ash into the black mist.

Initially, there wasn’t much change, but as more black ash was extracted, Gu Xi noticed shadows were struggling within the mist surrounding the Death Incarnation.

These figures weren’t attacking the Death Incarnation, but were writhing within the mist, seemingly trying to escape but failing.

This gave the Death Incarnation an even more sinister appearance.

Gu Xi was pleasantly surprised to find a noticeable change in the Death Incarnation’s mist.

It seemed this choice was correct.

After drinking a magic potion, Gu Xi no longer put up Bone Shields, leaving the handling of black ash entirely to the Death Incarnation.

Arroyo, who had just received the Bone Shield from Gu Xi, also developed ideas on the black ash.

He couldn’t perform the Bone Shield Skill, but he had another idea.

”Everyone act, start rotating the Bone Shield.”

The principle of the Bone Shield is quite simple: the shield made of white bone orbits you like a satellite, automatically blocking an attack.

The speed of rotation depends on those who wield the Bone Shield.

If you find it too fast, you can slow it down yourself.

Now, under Arroyo’s orders, all the Bone Shields spun at the fastest speed.

With Bone Shields on the skeleton soldiers in the front, they clustered together, tightly packed. The Bone Shields collided against each other.

Normally, a Bone Shield bump would be trivial.

This time the Shields were composed of black ash and scattered upon impact.

But since it wasn’t from an attack, the effect remained, and the shields replenished the black ash themselves.

The black ash left on the ground not taken by the Death Incarnation replenished the shields.

Soon, those skeleton gunners in the front donned a layer that resembled black mist.

Meanwhile, the rear gunners not affected by the Bone Shield began to have black mist-like Bone Shields as well.

This left Gu Xi speechless.

He didn’t expect Arroyo to have such a notion.

But Gu Xi chose not to say much and pointed ahead.

”Advance, move forward.”

Under Gu Xi’s command, all troops swiftly advanced, with human soldiers reinforcing Robbie’s Skeleton Two-Handed Swordsmen in the middle.

These human soldiers felt insulted, hurried their steps, eager to face the enemy quickly.

No matter how they rushed, they couldn’t catch up with Arroyo’s leading lancer units, let alone the ever-forward flight of the Death Incarnation in the sky.

They advanced approximately seven hundred meters, and all black figures blocking Gu Xi were turned to dust, not leaving even coal ash bodies behind.

Gu Xi glanced at the enemy newly appearing on both sides without paying attention.

”Ignore them; we’re moving; they can’t catch up.”

Gu Xi saw the black figures’ advancing speed just now.

If Gu Xi stayed for defense earlier, the encirclement could be formed.

But with Gu Xi accelerating forward, the encirclement failed; the black figures were too slow to catch up with Gu Xi’s troops.

This left the one leading the black figures bewildered.

He didn’t expect his coal ash troops, always invincible, to be easily defeated.

Before, when he attacked a few Royal Family carriage troops, he didn’t face this scenario.

He failed to consider that the royal troops primarily safeguarded royal members.

They preferred halting in safe zones instead of charging into dangers.

Thus, they got surrounded.

Moreover, the coal ash army summoned by whistle could resurrect infinitely as long as the black ash remained, mimicking thousands of zombies breaching cities.

His battles naturally faced no obstacles.

But now things differ, Gu Xi had no intention of lingering and charged directly.

During the charge, he cleaned the battlefield, clearing away defeated coal ash transformed into black ash.

Without black ash, dead coal ash soldiers won’t resurrect, presenting Gu Xi the finest opportunity with their split.

This move shattered through the coal ash encirclement, leaving back coal ash troops far behind, advancing toward Victoria Tower.
